Pumba, YAY for a great day and great results!

Hubby has been eating the cheese cake I made from your recipe, and tonight he said "did you make that yourself?" I said yes, from Pumba's recipe. He said its very, very good!!!!!! Love it myself, very smooth..
Thanks for the recipe!

Cel, gotta please the Bawston lady, LOL! Nothing but perfection will do?

I just wrapped a bottle of wine in a big box for the white elephant exchange at work tomorrow. Now I have to make the deviled eggs. I bought this big carrying tray with handles for just occasions like this and haven't had luck yet putting the handle on myself :sad1: So good luck to me tomorrow, I might have to make 2 trips to get both to the place. But should be a fun lunch.
After that, I have to go to the doctor yet again......

Alright, moovers!
If you sent me your address, I sent you a list of all the moovers addresses.
if you didn't get one, I either overlooked you or you didn't send me one!

welcome back, mony! hope you had a blast.

Pumba that is great news, hope you get to use your new dishwasher tomorrow.

Marita-- what is the changes you get your wine back....:lmao: Or does it go to a certain person. Like a secret Santa.

Celery-- I don't look for perfection, it is just nice to get cards from friends.

We just got back from seeing The Princess and the Frog. Loved it. Hannah and Nicholas laughed so much.

thank you for the compliments on the cheesecake......I am blushing see (:lovestruc)...I do enjoy it myself ....but a little here and there....

Cel...thank you for doing the addresses ...you are sweet and so good to us....

hub just finished the cleansing cycle in the dishwasher......Now i can do the real stuff....MY SUPPER DISHES......gotta love automation.....

Tomorrow I can sleep in.....do you think it is possible.....maybe......wish I could and Hope I can....lets keep our fingers crossed..

see you tomorrow moovers

Nab, chances of getting my own wine are slim, (I almost tyed slime, LOL). but chances are I could get another bottles from someone, they are a popular choice as gifts and to receive. Also gift cards. Not like a secrect Santa, you pick a random gift, and the next person can either steal it or pick another gift to open, and so on. But each gift can only turn 3 times, then the final owner has it. One year I ended up with some massage bead?? They went in the trash. Another year some nice wine glasses, you just never know, could be nice or a gag gift. Normally a gag gift doesn't get stolen, imagine that, so you are stuck with it.

Pumba, YAY for doing real dishes!

Cel, got the PM, thanks!

I was working on the deviled eggs finally tonight, got them all mashed up, got out the ingredients and found out I don't have enough mayo on hand :scared1: I could have sworn I did! So I ended up driving to the store at 9:40 pm for a large jar of Hellmans. $7.99???????????
Guess you never realized how much some stuff costs when its all mixed up with a bunch of other stuff..
Just sat down for a few after getting home, so now back to work on the eggs........

ETA: Finished eggs and finally figured out how to attached the handle to the carrier tray, w00t!
Now to eat 2 extra eggs, whew!

Hello friends! Happy (?) Monday to you all!

First, I just have to say that this post--->

pumba - Great news from the doctor!

keep up the good work!

I'm working on my cards.
I have a confession.
I want to please the martha stewart of bawston.
I triple checked the card I put in her envelope.
:rotfl:

.......made me say "Awwww!" Cel, you're too much! I am sure ALL your cards are lovely....and I can't wait to get mine now!

I haven't even begun writing out my Christmas cards yet. Usually, I take pics of Boris and Natasha in front of our tree and then I have cards made up on Snapfish. Haven't done ANY of that yet! I also have about umpty-nine gifts left to purchase. And cooking to do.....how will I ever get all this stuff done??????

In addition to the usual holiday stuff, tomorrow is Boris' first concert with his Strings Attached group. He's pretty excited, and I can't wait to hear these kids play! Bonus: I get to go into work later than usual, since the concert is at 10am.

Okay, gotta get to bed. G'night y'all!

Quiet day here today. As in ZERO POSTS, LOL

Went to my lung scan appointment today with a cancer surgeon, but he didnt even give me the PET scan, he looked at the pic and said it was probably scar tissue something I was exposed to as a child most likely, lile TB or more likely something else that I dont know what it is.

After I got home I remembered: When I was really little, like 3-5, I supposedly had a horrible cough. My mom took me to some layer-on-of-hands or something that was working out of a neighborhood bar (travelling around). I vaguely remember that actually. It worked, and I was cured :worship: So it might be a residue from that. I'll have to ask mom this weekend.

Well, anyway, he said I needed to do nothing about that, WHEW!! A biopsy was a definite possibilty. So great news. In not so great news, he of course told me I need to stop smoking, Well, DUH!! But he had no magic pill to offer. I tried all sorts of things before.
He said to try laser treatment, he knows nothing about it, but some nurses had great success. Of course they also say you really need to WANT to quit smoking, which is the whole crux of the matter. Or he said to try Nicorette gum, which I did before (and many orther things) I asked him about Chantix that is advertised all over, he said that some people have fatal car accidents from that :scared1: So I guess that is out
BUT, the dear Dr. gave me additional motivation today: I will be on oxygen in a couple of years if I keep going :scared1: Defintely not good!

Sorry about 2 scary faces in a row here.

Sooo, I am targeting about January 10 or so, after the holidays and after forecast week for laser treatment. Wish me luck!!

Oh, we had the lunch and gift exchange today. I almost ended up with a $10 Hess gift card and two funky figures (which I stole), but it got stolen from me, and I went home with 6 bars of gourmet chocolate. Could have done worse.

I think I win the prize for the one and only post in a day that was NOt a holiday.

What do I win?

6 bars of gourmet chocolate and a box of arm patches!

Seriously, I wish you the best of luck there Marita. I have quit many times and each time was just as hard. Only this time, (over 3 years now) I think it's for good. I went on vacation and didn't even have one. The want is sometimes there, but my will is stronger.

I'm so tired of my boys and their nasty behavior I am tempted to not give them a christmas. It's that bad!

Morning my friends.
I dont know where my post went from yesterday, but I DID post.....HONEST...

Marita, I have to talk to you. I was one of those heavy stay at home person smoker......two to two and a half packs a day....back then it was 1.25 a pack up here in Maine country...Hubby decided (yes he decided for both of us) that we were going to quit one New Years day....No help from the medical field back then. No help from anything .....No chance for our children....I was some ugly and I cried alot. I had just lost my bestest friend I thought. I remember thinking where would I go that I didnt smoke.....so I slept alot and was sooooooo darn clean...(showers)...one day after another........finally I was over the urge......well I thought it was the urge. If I smelt sulphur from someones match.....or I would smell smoke I thought one puff......but hubby and myself were smokeaholics temporarily on the wagon. ..If you can do one day at a time and one urge at a time......You will do great......My sister was on O2 because she was one of those 55 years of smoking gal......
We are here for you if and when you decide the day has come......cause we care about you and want you to be typing with us on these dang computers forever and ever.

Love you all

Mony-- there was a thread on the CB about that yesterday only it was a teen dd. I hear you about bad behavior. Nicholas gives us a run for our money. It is the talking back lately that is driving me crazy. He knows it all.

Marita-- Hope you can quit smoking. Your smoking is my bad eating habits and dieting. And having said that I would take the choocolate over the funky figures. :lmao:

We had the kids Christmas concert last night. The young kids were so cute. They were all attention getters in grade 1 that is for sure. Their was on little boy that sang after everyone else so it was like an echo, but so funny. Another grade had a boy that sure moved his hip and danced when know one else moved. Hannah's class did a there song beautifully and sang the french song even louder then any other grade last night.

Definitely Christmas spirit at the school this week. Which is going very fast. Last week and then they are on holidays until Jan 4.

Very well said, Pumba!

mony - your boys look like angels - especially in that video where you told them they were going to disney world. I'm sorry they are being poop heads!

nab, I'm sorry nicholas is being a pain too.

hi to everyone else!

It's the most wondeful time of the year?

Whats up with all the rotten little boys on the thread? Add mine to the list. lol

In a fit of anger my 14 yo told me to "shut up". SAY WHAT??? He has never done that and his dad was all over him like white on rice. Then all the children were gathered round for a "respect your mother" speech. or else!:snooty:

In other news, Red is going to be the Nutcracker King in his school play on Friday. He has to wear a red turtleneck and black pants. Ummmm. Since when did all the stores in the entire LooUhVull area stop selling red turtlenecks????

Seriously. I can't find one anywhere. WTHECK?

Marita:  Here's hoping for the will power and strength to kick the habit.

Everybody: :wave2:

BBN: I see your shut up and raise you a "swat at your mother cause she got your attention with a firm tap".

Not trying to one up anyone, but man, my 11 year old has developed a temper that makes me scared when he turns 16. He tells me he yells at me cause I don't listen. He yells cause he don't like my answers.

It's easier to parent the girls. The boys have gotten really tough. They have attitudes and mouths, and well, I guess I just turned stupid when they turned 10 cause they tell me I don't know anything.

I wish them 2 each just like them, just like my mom wished for me.:rolleyes1

Babynurse-- Hannah had to wear a red turtle neck last night too. Lucky we had one from last year. I could send it but I don't think he would like a girls sweater....

Mony-- I think we have years of bad boy behaviour in front of us. People keep telling me it will be fun with Hannah too when she gets older, I hope they are wrong , she is my sweet child right now.

My couch as arrived now I am waiting for hubby to take the the TV in the family room apart to put down there. Once I know where that baby has to go I will be able to move the furniture around , and then around again I am sure. :rotfl: Tonights project.

I have stuff I want to do, but I'm tired and don't want to do it!
but I'm bored!
what a dilemma.

01111111111

that was from riley leaning on the keyboard.
weirdo!

y'alls cards are ready to be mailed, but I've got a bunch more to get ready and I only want to go to the post office once.
argh.
I've got to make myself do them at lunch tomorrow.

Hello, Moovers. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm feeling the Christmas madness!

One of my friends at school was going through a lot and wasn't going to be able to get her 2 kids any Christmas presents. A co worker and I snuck around, collected money, and went to Wal Mart and went all out! We were able to get so much for her kids! She has to be one of the most amazing people I have ever met and she deserved it so much. We all just sat around crying during planning time today giving the gifts to her! Happy tears though. :goodvibes

I just finished making 203920 red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles (natch)! Each grade group (5 teachers) was in charge of a different day for food this week. My grade group is in charge of tomorrow and I was assigned dessert! I think I have eaten my body weight in dessert this week. This really can't end well.

Monica...that salamander story was disgusting. Hope you had a good trip.

BBN...Question: Do I have to respect you?

L...you'll get it all done. Sleep is for sissies. That's what I was deciding as I was driving to walmart after midnight last night. :rolleyes1 There were like 15 Amish people at walmart! They were all young people so I decided they were living in a constant state of rumspringa like me. They were buying chips, pepsi, and mountain dew, if you were wondering. ;)

Hi to everyone. :wave2:
:grouphug:

Monica...that salamander story was disgusting. Hope you had a good trip.

But look how many years I was able to retain that story!

We also had a praying mantis that did tricks on tinker toys. It would swing around them like on monkey bars. She laid an egg, then died. We all said goodbye to her and the teacher put her in a cigar box and told us she would burry it after class.

I've got a bunch of them. What else can I share....?

I had a WONDERFUL trip! Thanks for asking.

Happy Friday Eve!

Sorry I've been MIA this week. Lots of stuff going on this time of year.

Marita - Hey, if I can lose over 100 lbs, you can kick smoking! You know we're here to support you :grouphug: I've really appreciated all the encouragement from my Moover friends :)

Yay for Skype! Mari will be home Saturday evening :cool1: I'm taking Don to the airport tomorrow afternoon. He's flying to NC and driving back with Mari the next day for a little father/daughter time and to see her new place.

bbn - Any luck finding that red turtleneck for Red??! Goog luck to him for his performance tomorrow :goodvibes

Peej - Rumspringin' at the Wal-Mart after midnight? :lmao:

I've managed to avoid eating any cupcakes this holiday season, but I did have to have a Russian tea cake and half a homemade from scratch with Ghirardelli cocoa and Andes mint chips brownie last night :rolleyes1 I agree with Cel - you do look awfully skinny in your FB photo :thumbsup2

That was so nice shopping for your friend's kids :santa:

Nabbie - How goes the cookie baking? I don't think I'll be making any this year. Too tempting :guilty: Dang it.

Mony - Glad you had a wonderful trip. Coming back to reality sucks, doesn't it? ;)
