Waiting for my cookie dough to chill....

We got quite the treat today at church. Our priest performed on Broadway as the Phantom of the Opera before he became a priest 8 years ago. Anyway he did this little play of how people are stressed at Christmas , can't find this toy , the tree isn't up, someone won't be with us this Christmas etc. In between these little skits he sang, boy blow me away. This was his homily today.

The kids are out skating with there dad.

Nabbie - Hubby spun out while still in North Carolina, but managed not to go into the ditch. He did run into a snowbank though which damaged the bumper. That was before their ordeal of being stuck on the West Virginia turnpike. Mari said that at least they didn't have to pay any tolls on the turnpike once traffic finally got moving.

They have been napping off and on since they got home. We're just hanging out watching some DVRed stuff and movies.

Sounds like quite the homily today! Have fun baking your cookies :goodvibes I'd be popping some of those kisses into my mouth in between unwrapping them ;)

great news that they are home safe and sound......taht is the main thing.....
Now about those hershey kisses....100 left after I eat those six........

I just finally took a shower and got dressed.....I am tired and I could take a nap right now too.

Have a great day everyone

Thank God for Mari and Don being home safe and sound, Moo!

Nab, sounds like a fun mass this morning, and YUMM for all those cookies.
There was a big cookie thing going on Friday at my old work location, with lots of peple bring in cookies. I missed it, but I sure am glad to be out of there! :)

Dh just went to the store to get the turkey and got all sorts of other stuff too. I know he got soda, so I can cross that off my list. Have to go through the rest of the stuff though.

BUT, he forgot my wine  So now I have to go out and get that. Havent decided yet if I will just drive to the corner store for 1 bottle, or the big ABC and stock up with all I need for the festivities. Probably should go to ABC and get it out of the way rather than wait for my vacation days, but I sure dont feel like it..........

My one and only house chose accomplishment so far today is seperating the laundry into hot and cold piles :sad2:

Marita - Is the ABC store even open on Sundays? I'm glad we can just get that stuff at the grocery store.

I made a pork roast in the crockpot yesterday. I made some gravy with the juices today and heated up some sliced roast in it and we had that over Yukon gold mashed potatoes. It was pretty good if I do say so myself!

Pumba - Hope you're all rested up after your big family party! It's been a jammies day for me today.

nab - what's a homily?

moo - oh my goodness! I'm glad don and mari are safe at home!

hi to everyone else! I was at breadman's last night.
he and the kids are here for three nights now.
yay!
lots of christmas fun

peej - thanks for the card!

.

Moo, I can get wine at the grocery store too, just so much cheaper at ABC, and yes, they are open on Sundays. I need 2 gallons for my strawberry bowle alone for the party , heh! I usually buy 2 cases of gallon jugs at a time :upsidedow Dinner sounds great!

Cel, yay for Christmas fun!

I am finally getting a tad of energy to do some housework. Just emptied the dishwasher, need to put some laundry in and get something to eat. Maybe clean the mirrors and glass panes in the entry way tonight, something!! So far I have wasted two days doing just about NOTHING :scared:

Nab, still not a single Christmas Decoration in sight here! But to make up for late start, it usually stays up till mid-February:rolleyes:

When does PJ stalking season begin? Week after Christmas???

TV suggestion for tonight: The secret life of Tiger Woods at 9pm on TLC. YW!

Celery -- I probably spelled it wrong....it is when the priest talks after reading the gospel. This time he sang. We have heard him sing the communion part of mass before , that is pretty cool too. The other priest sings with him.

Kids always make Christmas fun....Are you seeing Breadman again?

I just finished making cookies. I made chocolate chip X8 the receipe and Cocoa cookies X3 .

I am ready to sit down and watch the finale of Survivor.

Mairta -- I forgot that Tiger Woods show is on too. I may record it or flip on commericals.

nab - no, we're not dating. just hanging out.
I'm weird.
His mom tagged me in a picture on facebook.
it's hilarious.
I was actually telling breadman he had to make a decision about what night he wants to do dinner with my parents.
his mom snapped a picture just then

You look like you are winning an arguement. Mental note, don't piss off Cel. Ever!

Happy 3 days before Christmas.

Ok Moovers, I'm finally working on my Christmas cards. I'm in the M's and almost done, so I'm hoping that they will go in the mail today. Sorry they are so late, but it seems like that is how I operate lately. :upsidedow

All the baking done, all the shopping done, all the wrapping done.....

I think I am ready! Well I guess I should do some cleaning since that has been put aside while I do everything else.

Hubby is taking the kids out tonight , good luck with that. I am not going near a store or mall now it will be crazy. I guess they can go in the middle of the night since Walmart and a few other stores around here are open 24 until Christmas.

Define PJ stalking season please, Marita.

Moo...that sounds like one NOT fun trip. Glad to hear they finally made it home safely though. :goodvibes

Presents are wrapped, suitcase is packed, apartment needs to be cleaned, and then I am ready to head to Cincinnati for some Christmas festivities! I'll leave as soon as I get my act together tomorrow.

Peej - Enjoy your time with family!

Nabbie - I hear you about not going out shopping. I went to the mall on Saturday to get my haircut and it was a zoo!!! Glad your shopping and baking are done. We went to the grocery store this afternoon and got stuff to make Chex party mix and Mari's going to make some peppermint bark. And Amaretto sours  We had Chinese takeout for dinner. I think I ate a little bit too much. But it was SO good. We haven't had Chinese for months.

Mari's knitting me a couple snowmen - we found a cute pattern at the yarn store today. I just have to figure out where my fiberfill is.

And we still have to decorate the tree. I'm going to "fluff" it as soon as I finish searching through about 10 crafts containers for the fiberfill. Oh, goody!

Allie - You're doing better than me on the cards! I decided there just wasn't time to do cards this year.

Cel, thanks for that lovely hand-made card, it arrived today. It's beautiful!

Everyone, count me out for cards from me too, just no time. I dont have a single xmas thing up yet, ugghhhh!

Nab, yay for finishishing all your chores, I'm just starting tomorrow (finally on vacation :cool1:)

The Ultimate Cookie cookbook I ordered for DD arrived today, hope she likes it. I got it to go along with the Pampered chef stuff.

DH was off today and I was hoping he would have done something today, but nothing that was visible to the naked eye, LOL! I know better than to ask :rolleyes1

Peej, staling season starts when you are Chef Mickey's Duh! Have a great time with family.

I finished some work tonigt that I REALLY did not feel like doing, but its done. So now to get some dinner and maybe put away laundry and start another load, which seems like such a waste of time with all that has to be done, but has to be done, UGHH!

Christmas tree decorated. Check.

It was not as easy as usual. The stand kept falling apart and the lights were all screwed up, so I had to take them off, untangle them, then Mari helped me re-wrap them onto the tree. I'm buying a new pre-lit one during the after Christmas sales.

Oh, well. It's finally up!

Marita - I feel your pain!!! At least I don't have to work this week.

PJ - my Christmas card will be waiting on you when you get back from your festivities. ;)

NAB- Hope my card finds you way up there. They locked the doors of my local P.O. before closing time today, so I couldn't ask about postage, so I put extra postage on it. If not, I guess it will come back to me. :rolleyes1

All my NEastern moovin' friends
- Dug out yet? Ya need to have our Southern snow storms. Gone by noon. :lmao:

DH and DD are planning on going to Scrooge tomorrow. Don't know if I can swing it or not. I had a coworker & Sunday School helper (same girl ;)) have a partial hysterectomy today, and I am responsible for her dinner tomorrow. Plus DD doesn't want to see the 3D version, and of course it's only showing at the theater that is 30 minutes away, and close to a mall. GRRRR!!! Oh well.

Hope everyone is doing well, and just busy with Christmas goings on. Love y'all! :grouphug::love:

i DID IT!!

Wrapped all 3, count 'em THREE, gifts I had to wrap (since huby goes all out like the a crazy man!)

DD called toniight to say our son is really upset, cause he doesnt know what to get DH for Christmas. His list always says latest beatles or ROllinng stones CD. But you know, they just dont pump them out every year :sad2: So DH promised to think of SOMEthing. I got him a garding scooting sitter upon thing he picked out in a catalogue, except the one he picked was not available anymore, so I got him something similar, sort of..... Plus it was about $20 cheaper.

So here we are at 2 am of Christmas week no tree up yet! But soon. Maybe I will put out a few peripherel decorations and call it a night.,

Marita-- :woohoo: you will be done before you know it. But I would not be decorating a tree at 2:00 in the morning.

Ally -- Thanks for thinking about me. It is the thought that counts after all.

Any kind of Christmas wishes on here will do!

Only 2 days before Christmas now! We would be going to my Mom's today but Hannah has her Guides tonight and they are having a Secret Santa so we can't miss that. Gives me an extra day to make Hubby's squares he likes or maybe fudge. Both are easy to make. I just can't stop....:lmao:

Marita...I'm not working this time, just vacationing!! I'll be there starting on the 26th. Keep your eyes peeled. :3dglasses

Moo...glad to hear about you enjoying your time with Mari! :goodvibes I'm sure you've posted this, but how long is she in town for?

Allie...My Christmas card from you will brighten my return to the cold weather! :) And how much snow did you get?

I went out with some good friends from work last night. I swear I just laughed for like 3 hours straight. We were in a really bad part of town and I got the privilege (?) of witnessing my first knife fight! LOL! It was an "interesting" night. ;)

I'm procrastinating but I need to be heading to Cincy! To go to the gym first or not to go to the gym....
