Cel - I'm pretty sure we're going to wear our pirate-y stuff for the Halloween party. Probably just striped shirts, black shorts so we'll stay cool, and our bandanas, since I'll have already have those for Talk Like a Pirate Day. Want me to get you a bandana? I can go back to the flea market tomorrow to see if they still have them. I should have thought of that today! They're only $1. WAY cheaper than pirate ears

Hiya, Lex - Hope things are going well. That's cool about Emily going to the casting call! I hadn't heard they were making a movie about Secretariat.

Marita - Great news about the upcoming Disney changes and additions! I thought it was interesting that the cruise line will be going to Alaska, but I still want to cruise to somewhere warm when it's cold here in Michigan.

Sandy - Sorry I can't stow you away on this trip! Dang airlines charge too much for luggage

Another slow day here! We had a beautiful sunshine-y day here in Michigan. Hope everyone had lovely weather and was out enjoying it.

Cel - I made it down to the flea market and picked up another bandana (just in case) . . .

We also went out and picked up a few items for our trip. My hubby found a couple smaller pairs of shorts and shirts on clearance for $5 each. I still would kind of like to find one more shirt to take on vacation but I don't think I'll have time to do any more shopping. We also placed an order with Garden Grocer for the first time tonight so we can have some bottled water (we don't like the taste of the water at WDW) and breakfast and snack items delivered to our resort. It'll sure be nice having a full-size fridge to freeze some bottles of water to take into the parks

I noticed over on the DVC Board that they also unveiled a model of the new DVC Hawaii resort at D23:

Moo, get a shirt at the Contemporary. They are sure to have cool DVC stuff for members. You know how DVC people are, they think they own the place and always demand special stuff and perks

I didn't do much of anything today, except some work stuff I didnt have to do. I tried calling my mom 3 times today, no answer, she should have been in bed but not sleeping by then. So I am a little worried, but DB hasn't called, so I guess she's not dead

Procrastinated with laundry, so now I have to hang up my work clothes in a minute. I snacked on leftover dip, so I still have to eat something with some nutritiounal value tonight, maybe...

There is NOTHING on TV tonight, so I'm watching House Hunters

We did get some beautiful weather today!

Manage to get to church and then had to go back to the mall but this time with Nicholas. He needed gym clothes and running shoes. He only had skateboard shoes that are so flat his legs were hurting him when he ran.

Hannah and I went another direction in the mall. She got her first training bra. Actually she got three. Two are sport type ones, one is very bright green and the other grey/purple. And the one that acutally has hooks and looks like a training bra is white. Believe it or not plain white was hard to find When we met up with her father she wips one out of the bag to show her dad, it was so funny because the look on hubby's face was priceless.

Marita-- get some food! I agree nothing on tonight. I am washing now since I was out most of the day.

Moo-- how much has Mr. Moo lost? Hope the week goes fast for you so you can start your vacation.

Nabbie - Mr. Moo has lost over 100 lbs! Men usually lose faster than we women do, dang it! I have been stalled at 97 lbs for over a week I think I'm going to have to try a day or two of protein shakes or something drastic like cut my calories in half to see if I can hit 100 lbs by Friday. I was hungry for sushi today so I went ahead and got some while we were out and about this afternoon. I'm probably going to regret having that rice and soy sauce tomorrow (water retention)

Cel - I'm glad you enjoyed Wicked! I think my DD is going to be a party pooper about dressing pirate-y for Talk Like a Pirate Day. She says she doesn't want any extra attention on her birthday I guess she probably won't wear a birthday button either.

Marita - I've seen the BLT shirt on the DIS, and it's nice, but I don't usually wear t-shirts. But that is a good suggestion to just try to find a shirt during vacation! Did you finally get your nails done?! I need to give myself a pedicure later this week. I looked at polish while I was out shopping this afternoon, but I'm just going to go with a color I already have.

Moo, yes, I finally got my nails done yesterday. Boy, was I past due!!! 3 broken nails and outgrown nail beds covered up with match polish to hide it as best I could. Glad to be back to nice nails I can actually type with, LOL.

They used to have some really nice dress shops in DTD back in the day where you could find work clothes. I don't think they do anymore, but what do I know, I never shop there, LOL.

DId I ever mention that was my first area of responsibility as a Jr Financial Analyst? DTD, known as Disney Village Marketplace back then, Townhouses, Treehouses, Fairway Villas, and Hotel Plaza Boulevard Hotels. I ran reports written in Basic via a dial up modem to a computer in NY, LOL. And I played Industrial Engineer by interviewing housekeepers about how long it took to clean townhouses and compiling surveys. Those were the days, my friends...

Peej- How are the thuglings? I think of you all the time as I spend time with my little second graders. No mealworms or crayfish here on the prairie. They are decomposing food for science. In the classroom thank goodness.

Today was an eventful day with the thuglings. Shortly after school started the fire alarm went off. We always get a heads up when there's a drill so this was strange. Also when we go outside for a fire drill we're pretty much out there for 5 minutes or less. Well today we just kept waiting and waiting and waiting to go back in. We ended up waiting over an hour!!! That was a very long time for them to stay quiet and be outside but not be allowed to play. It was somewhat torturous. It turns out a 4th grader brought matches to school and threw them in the garbage can in the bathroom. The thing was full of paper towels so there was an actual fire. That's kind of scary. Also, this kid was one of my students from last year. Gulp. His mom was on Oprah last year on an episode for overwhelmed parents. Overwhelming doesn't even begin to describe this child.

Marita...your traffic cone story made me laugh. I think that counts as stealing!

At one point she told me she would maybe dress "wenchy" but she didn't like the tops I showed her. I'll try not to torture or embarrass her too much

Marita - Glad you got your nails all prettified! I think that the clothes in the DTD shops these days are more geared toward the younger crowd. We don't have many table service ressies, but we are going to the Sci-Fi Dine-in at Hollywood Studios for lunch one day, but it's not on a week day. My plans with my sister and her friend are pretty loose at this point except for the Halloween Party.

I had cortisone injections in my knees today so I skipped my water aerobics class tonight. I'm not supposed to overdo today, so I'm working on my laundry instead tonight. Hopefully the cortisone will kick in over the next couple days and I'll be able to walk with less pain.

Marita - Not sure I'm going to be posting with the batphone - the battery life is pretty bad these days . . . sigh. I am planning to take my laptop and try to do a bit more relaxing at the resort this trip. We'll see how that goes and if I can post some photos using that

I talked with my sister tonight because I saw that she posted on FB that she came down with a cold. It just started yesterday She and her friend are starting their drive south on Thursday afternoon. I've been really good about taking my vitamins, so I hope they are really helping my immune system! Guess I'd better add some extra Vitamin C for the next several days. And I'm going to try to take some Airborne before my flight, but I'll have to let the fizziness dissipate. I haven't had anything carbonated since my surgery.

So what are the chances that a cat will come back home on it's own?

Buddy got out last night, he made a hole in our patio door screen. All I know is the last time we saw him was 10:30 last night. The kids and I have put up signs before school and looked around but no one has seen him. There are two other cats missing in the neighhood and had signs too. The kids are pretty upset.

Marita-- I thought the traffic cone story was funny too. Has anyone driven on the grass since you moved it.

Moo-- glad your taking precautions and staying healthy. It would be terrible to be sick on vacation. Especially if it is hot as it was the time we met.

P.J-- I think Lexi is refering to her dd Mimi.

Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Cookie had a rough day. I know how you love him. The kids decided to make a whiteboard into a slide. Picture if you will, they had it leaning against a bookshelf and were dropping him down it from the top. They were of course thoroughly reprimanded but by the time I got there one of Cookie's little toes was all bent the wrong way and bloody. I'm not sure what the protocol is when one has a hamster with a broken toe.

This just made me laugh. Maybe it wasn't that funny/cute but I enjoyed it. One of my kids was sitting next to me on the bench at recess and he randomly turns to me and says "when I wish upon a star, I wish it will give me magic powers. You know, like POOF I'm a cowboy, and then POOF I'm an astronaut!" Hey, makes sense to me.
