Secretariat movie courtesy of Wikipedia:

Secretariat is an American motion picture currently in pre-production for Mayhem Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures. The film tells the story of the United States' Hall of Fame racehorse, Secretariat, who, along with Seattle Slew (1977) and Affirmed (1978) going into 2010, is one of three horses in the past thirty-six years to have won the United States Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. The story centers around three people, Penny Chenery, Ron Turcotte, and Lucien Laurin, who come together as, respectively, the principal owner, jockey, and trainer of the legendary horse.
Secretariat clinching the 1973 Triple Crown by winning the Belmont Stakes by 31 lengths in world record time.

It is being directed by Randall Wallace. Currently casting, on June 12, 2009, Variety magazine reported that Diane Lane will portray Secretariat's owner, Penny Chenery.

The film is scheduled to be released in 2010.

Thanks, babycow.
so how do we get mr. buble to meet me???????

:lmao:

I know a way. Follow me. Shhhhhhh

And that, my friends, is just the beginning. :rolleyes1
You will always have a fond spot in my heart for introducing me to my husband though. And the staring deal still stands. You're welcome.

How do you think he feels about drooling?

bbn!!! Loved that video!

Thanks. I did too. And now I have Julia Roberts watching it daily. lol

Did the cortisone work for you?

Michael Buble who???????

So what are the chances that a cat will come back home on it's own?

Buddy got out last night, he made a hole in our patio door screen. All I know is the last time we saw him was 10:30 last night. The kids and I have put up signs before school and looked around but no one has seen him. There are two other cats missing in the neighhood and had signs too. :sad2: The kids are pretty upset.

Oh no! Our indoor cat that was supposed to be an outdoor cat but somehow remained an indoor cat got out on Sunday. She did find her way home on Monday.

Is Buddy still MIA?

NAB - Maybe all the neighborhood cats are having a "cat party" somewhere, and they will all come home soon. So sorry, I know that has got to be hard on all of you. I know our dogs are "family" so we would be devastated too, if one went missing. :grouphug:

PJ - Wow on your former thugling setting fire to the trashcan. :scared1:

peej - you can have buble. I'm marrying johnny depp.
don't tell babycow.
or the french model mother of his children.

I heard that!!!!!! PIRATES. DEPP. 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo::yay::love::banana:

 Hello new bff. lol! Thanks LilG.

And you do know that we LOVE the Big 10 network at this house, dont ya?

AND if celery is in the new POTC movie, I want to tag along!!!

The film is scheduled to be released in 2010.

Here's the story re: casting call in Lexington.

DANGIT! I missed the casting call. I cudda been famous.

Last edited by lexmelinda; Today at 07:22 AM. Reason: I think Buble looks like a younger Mr. BabyNurse.

Lol. He might look like him, but he sure don't sound like him. It is a running joke in our family that The dh can't carry a tune in a bucket. He said he hoped our kids would get the music genes from me.

I knew who Secretariat was.... I just wondered why you were going to an open casting call for a horse. ;)

Random Thoughts for the Day
Cel- magical express tickets!:cloud9:

Mr. Buble does look like Mr. Babynurse.

In addition to watching food decompose (each kid brought in a food..... the banana is black mush but the cheeto is pristine:laughing:), the 2nd graders are now hatching chickens. Yup.

Q: Are viruses alive? Why or why not?

A: No. Because you said so. Also they are not bacteria.

Some teachers get a flower or a note or an apple left on their desk- I got a gallon ziploc full of snake skins!!!! :faint:

Yes Buddy is still MIA. Everyone keeps telling us he will show up some day when he gets hungry.

I just hope he comes home soon. Poor Hannah is not sleeping well and this morning she said her teddy bear is good drying her tears. :sad1: She put his chair outside this morning and some of his toys on the patio. We live in subdivision and there is fences everywhere. I think it would be like a maze to him.:confused3

Twinkie-- What are you going to do with your gift of snake skins...eww.

Babynurse -- glad your kitty came home. I picture you living on a huge ranch with all those horses. Did he bring any other animals home with him.

Oh nabbers! Poor hannah! :( :( :(

peej - I thought from the way that was worded that cookie had died!!! I had to skip to the bottom to make sure!

lil g - thanks for always saying things to cheer me up.

babycow - of course you can tag along!
and samoa!

:lmao:

twink - I wondered the same thing! Melinda wants to be a horse? :rotfl:

everyone else - hi!

I'm BACKKKKKKKKKKKK

Okey folks ......FLorida in September is not my style.........my sweat sweated....hahaha...It was so humid...we did what we wanted to do and nothing more.....our feet sort of shuffled along..

we had free dining and I am not thinking I would like to do it again......Oh probably we would but I would not like having to be someplace at some time and being in a different park or not wanting to run to these restaurants.

Our favorite restaurant (our new choice) is in Epcot......Tutto Italia.......that place--- the service was unbelievable--- we both had the new york strip steak and omg it was so tender you could cut it with a spoon......the service was so darn unusual......and the atmosphere was fantastic.

worse restaurant experience was in Tusker House in AK for dinner......YUCK..
end of that.....not my style I guess..

we were amazed at how fast the rain could open up when not a cloud was around us and drench us and make us look like drowned rats......

One day we went to the pool and hubby forgot to grease up and he got burnt in ten minutes....

so I will catch up on all the news in a few.......

take care and I did miss you all

Buddy is home!!!

Hubby and Hannah went out with more flyers after dinner. He was not far from home just the street behind but he was under a deck. They had a dog so it was really hard to get him out. Dog was to big to get under and get him. The guy that lived there saw him there this morning and thought he would just go home on his own. Anyway everyone is happy now. The back door will not be open until the screen gets fixed but I have a feeling he won't go out again.

Pumba-- Nice to see you back. I found Sept even worse the August. It was hot the year we had the meet. Hope it isn't too bad for Moo on Friday.

Marita-- Hope you get home earlier tonight. How long until you go on vacation?

NAB, great news about Buddy, YAY! :thumbsup2 I bet the poor kitty won't venture out again soon.

I did get home about an hour late tonight, so not too bad. I am NOT checking work emails tonight though, I refuse!!! BB is leaving for 2 1/2 week vacation Thursday and is bound to send a bunch of work my way. I really, really hate this job! Not just for the hours, but for all the stomach knots it gives me. Files we sent out tonight are sure to get "but we should get credit for ...." replies from the field, and I dread it.
I did however, win the who hates their job the most" contest at work today, although BB claims that win too. I think I win though.

woo? (TMcel)

29 days till vacation!!

Pumba, welcome back! I don't know what your complaint was about the weather, it's been a pretty cool summer here with all the clouds :confused3
Sorry you didnt like Tusker House, I loved my lunch there last year.
Haven't been to Tutto Italiana yet, not likely to go anytime soon, as it is a Participant restaurant and we can't expense lunch there (not like we can expense ANYthing these days, LOL) and we rarely go to the parks on our own time.

CEL and PJ, am I invited to your weddings to Michael and Johnny? Sure to be big shindigs, I would be hurt to just see it in the tabloids

Twinkie, snake skins? Care to 'splain why, Lucy?

BBN, my DH doesnt look like any famous person, but if he had not been adopted by his stepfather, his name would be Michael Jackson!

In other news, we are going to see "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Performing Arts Center on 9/29. Maybe I should look for nearby dinner ressies now?

Why thank you for that information session on Secretariat! I feel well informed and I can't believe Elisabeth and I missed our big opportunity for starring movie roles. Because you know we would have been given starring roles.

I know a way. Follow me. Shhhhhhh

Don't do it!! Don't listen to her!!!

I would prefer not to divulge that information at this time?

I guess I should thank my lucky stars that I don't have chickens in my room! The crayfish arrived today. The new teacher came in my room crying that she couldn't handle it. I believe she was over-reacting but I felt kinda sorta bad for tricking her into taking them. Then I took one look at them and I didn't feel bad anymore.
And isn't that the answer to all questions? Because Twinkie said so? :confused3

peej - I thought from the way that was worded that cookie had died!!! I had to skip to the bottom to make sure!
Yes, because Cookie's death would clearly be cause for mass panic.

Welcome back!! I am not a fan of the Florida heat either. YUCK!!! Always amazes me how the skies just open up there! It sounds like you had a nice trip despite the heat. :)

Oh my goodness when I read what Hannah said about her tears and her teddy bear that about broke my heart! I am so glad to hear you found Buddy. Hannah must be very happy tonight. :goodvibes

CEL and PJ, am I invited to your weddings to Michael and Johnny? Sure to be big shindigs, I would be hurt to just see it in the tabloids
Yeah, sure. Please wear lime green to set yourself apart as one of the internet people.

Apparently fire is the theme of this week. This afternoon while we were "enjoying" a mealworm lesson I started smelling something burning. I had noticed that it seemed unusually warm in the room and then I realized the air conditioner wasn't working and it was smoking! :scared1: Hence the smell. I called custodial and about 5 people came upstairs and bumbled around it. So, of course, all the kids are watching them and paying no attention to me. My assistant is as usual nowhere to be found and mass chaos is ensuing as children become easily excited over the mealworms and believe they're about to catch on fire. Just then the principal walked in to do an unannounced observation. It was glorious. The conclusion was that the air conditioner is broken and they'll get it fixed "as soon as possible." It was 85 degrees outside today...it was freakin hot in there!

Tomorrow is grade group planning aka sit around and not do much of anything all day while a sub endures my non air conditioned room and thuglets. Heh.

Yeah, sure. Please wear lime green to set yourself apart as one of the internet people.

I happen to have a lovely lime green shirt dress, belted, which I have not worn since my 50th B-Day about 96 years ago. Last day ever I wore a dress, BTW.

I'll trade you!!!!!!!!!!

Pumba, that September meet day was fricking HOT, this summer hasn't been bad at all. But then again, we had a blood thinning, thickening discussion at work the other day, so I guess it's all relative. But it was a relatively cool summer

I can't remember everything I was going to comment on (pre-vacation lack of sleep has already kicked in), but I do know I want to say YAY for Buddy's return! Nabbie, I was feeling really bad for Hannah too. I guess he just wanted to go visit the grandparents again?! I'm going to miss our pups while we're away.

My knees are feeling so much better today!!! Not quite this good: :yay: but a definite improvement.

My laundry is mostly done and I'm about 2/3 packed. I'm going to round up a couple more things before bed then call it a night. After swim class tonight, I made a run to Meijer for camera batteries, Ziploc bags, bandaids, and generic Immodium. Hope that is all the last-minute shopping I need to do.

Pumba - I'm sure not looking forward to humidity or rain, but our weather really cooled down today. Hopefully, I'll get to experience a little bit more summer while we're down in Florida :sunny:

Lil G - You must be reading the DVC boards lately  I'm going to just try to enjoy my stay and roll with it.

Marita - It'll be like a mini-vacation before your real vacation to spend some time with me and Cel!!!

So happy Buddy is back to thanks everyone.

Moo-- It has been cool here , especially at night and in the morning when I take the kids to school. I know what you mean about not sleeping before a trip. Are you boarding the dogs?

Marita--You have a green lime dress...you should have wore that to the meet unstead of jeans.

P.J.-- your school year is trying out to be an adventure.

Off to school mass this morning.

crowds in Disney were really light......we didnt get pushed around at all this trip...Now Marita......remember us Northerners had a crummy summer and no warmth at all until the last few weeks of August....so 95 percent humidity and dew points like I have never seen made us HOT.......not sure I could do it on a full time basis.....I do notice that people walk slower and talk slower when it is hot out.....

Nab I am so happy you got Buddy back.....I cant imagine losing our Megara even for a few minutes...........by the way......megara was a good girl at the Puppy jail...

Now this is what is funny.,...we got a free day of boarding if we pin traded for the owner.........we know he and his wife love disney....so we saw the sign when we went in and he asked us right up .......so 12 pins on a lanyard and we did it.......NOW hubby could be considered a pin nut......every person who had a pin holder on their neck or around the waist was seen by this mad Maine Man........we had alot of fun doing it..

We had a great Safari in AK.......we were on late one afternoon before our Tusker house reservation and had time to kill...
First the young giraffe was in the middle of a road eating plants by the side.....the driver had to call in for reinforcements to get him to move (or her?) so we had a good three or four minutes of stopage looking at this magnificant animal...Then an ostrich tried to climb aboard....we laughed so hard....after that were the white rhinos that were not in their usual sand pile but along the road further......we were so close we COULD of touched it if we were stupid enough to do it .....but we know the rules and didnt touch..
The lionness and lion were up and about and then the great PUMBA was walking .......NATURALLY this was the first time we didnt bring our camera...

another by the way comment.......with free dining I kept track of what it would of cost, and we were close to 750 dollars if we had paid for it ourselves.....an unbelievable amount for two Mainers....we had breakfast in the food court ......snack either in the food court or on the road.....and TS for our dinners.......we are not big eaters and felt like we were pushing it.
One comment on Le Cellier......we had a great bowl of cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread.......the prime rib was so so......but the couple next to us took one bite of his filet and the girl took a few bites of her strip steak.....and left the rest.....I could not believe that because they were full they made this a wasteful dinner....the waiter asked what was wrong and was everything okey......weird...

we had cold weather here last night....in the 30s..long pants and sweat shirts are in order for today too...

See ya later gators

Maybe that is the two bite diet that I hear Dolly Parton does to stay skinny.:lmao: Cool about seeing the animals up close.

We too are wearing sweat shirts and long pants this morning but suppose to warm up by this afternoon. Our grass was green all summer and now we haven't had any rain in awhile and it is all brown looking. But I can live with brown grass.

Marita, I popped in after you last night! I spent a couple hours on my packing last night. After that I made a list of stuff to do tonight. Getting there . . .

Nabbie - The pups will be boarded at the veterinarian's office so they can get caught up on their shots, etc. I'll bet Dolly had weight loss surgery based on how she eats!

Pumba - I sure hope the humidity levels are a tad lower this week. I'm
hoping for low crowds. We're going to be mostly eating at counter service places this trip. Even their portions are pretty big, so hopefully we can do some sharing to save a little $$.
