Mom's beautiful living room cabinet is 8' long and 6' tall, heavy wood, not something you just put out on the street for someone to pick up, LOL.l And she is taking some furniture to the home, like her chair, a small table and chairs. It's not furnished like a hotel. I really dont understand the whole thing myself.

I just ran up to the grocery store at 8, just before it got dark, EEK. Got prosciutto, butterkase and chicago rolls to keep my dinner addiction going. And gas, so I dont have to stop in the morning on my way to work to be sure to be there by 9am

Tomorrow is lunch at Panera with Asst #2 and knitfreak, yay, so that will be nice. Friday is mid-year PDP (personal development plan review with old boss and BB, YUCK! that whole thing is a joke....

TV ALERT FOR TONIGHT
Dating in the dark, got top recommendation from our local TV critic. People meet in complete darkness and decide who the want to date again without ever having seen them. 10pm on ABC

Lynette - My neck is better than it was yesterday morning when I first woke up and felt the pain. But not any better than after that. I can move it to the right and some to the left, but not up or down at all. Thankfully the Lord was very merciful to me last night and I slept from 10:30 to 3:30. I had a hard time getting comfortable after that and only slept restlessly until Chad got up(5:15, but I had him heat up my rice sock and with that heat and pressure on my neck I slept good until 7:30.

Thanks heavens for the heated rice thingy! Hope your neck is back to normal soon!

1. New furniture from the government! Sheeesh, the U.S. has its share of stupid, wasteful, government plans, but they over-looked this one. I wouldn't doubt they'll copy this insanity eventually. Pardon the political rant. It seems your mother's items could be run through an auction, but as you say, you're not in a place to dictate what happens. Maybe if the pieces are put out at the curb, needy people will help themselves and somebody who needs funiture will get it.


2. Lynette, loved the bat story! My cats would do the same thing. They usually play with mice till the poor mice die of exhaustion.

1. Kay, at the risk of offending the anti-political DIS gods, I agree with you on the eventuality of furnishing houses with taxpayer $$.

2. I would have loved the bat story far more if I had been the reader and not the author. We had a slightly bigger bat in our house last summer...two days in a row! We don't have mice (thankfully!), but both my cat and my dog have an affinity for stomping on ants. I guess I'm lucky they don't eat them and then beurk.

Lynette - Double ewwwww on the bat in the house! Apparently there was one in our house several years ago when my sister was dog sitting for us, so that was the end of that! She had to call someone in the middle of the night to help her get rid of it I don't think we've had one since.

The ickiest thing is that we don't know where the helk the bat got into the house! Blech!

I heard the had the cast pep rally for BLT at the Cont today, but due to rain they had to move it from the pool to a ballroom. We have been getting so much rain lately But I heard a great time was still had by all.

BFF is swimming in a senior race tomorrow and Wednedsay. He'51 or 52. Senior????
I heard today on TV (I think Access Holliwood) that 40 is the new 20 So Im only about 37, LOL.

Lynette-- we bought Hannah a camera last year for Christmas. I love it because she goes around video taping herself talking to the cat, or something she is recording. We didn't know this until we put the pictures on the computer and she did one at Christmas time. It is priceless! Hope there are no more bats....they rank right up there with mice.

Kay-- lots of good memories for sure. Just wish I knew who's big idea it was to to treasure hunting with flashlights in the grass at night. We are all paying for that with bites.

Celery-- I told Hannah the same thing about all her bites. She must be really sweet to bite her so much. She got it the worse I think.

Marita-- I watched the Dating in the Dark last night it was alright. Have a nice lunch with your friends, eat something.

Nab, never made it to lunch today, knitfreak's fiancee fell at work yesterday and was in much pain, she was taking half the day off to get his prescription and take care of him. Tentatively rescheduled for Monday.

But she got great news yesterday, she got a big promotion to Financial Systems as a salaried analyst. 22% pay increase, wow!! Ironically, Asst. #2 had applied for it too. But it's all good, KN had her name written all over that job, and otherwise it would have been dead end for her. A2 is going for her MBA, she will have other opportunities.

Thanks, Nabbie - I had a great birthday. We have LOTS of July birthdays, so we went out for lunch today and it was delish! I had part of a small NY strip steak and a grilled veggie skewer. and ate the rest of the steak and s0ome sweet potato for dinner

I am definitely needing that new wardrobe. In fact, I got home late tonight because after strength training, I did a tad of shopping and found a cute short-sleeved sweater. I also went to the Maggie Moo's ice cream shop and had some dark chocolate ice cream with almonds and strawberries as my birthday treat. Yummo. It tasted delish going down, but I think I'm done with sweets for quite a while now.

Thanks, Cel! You know, that guy looks a little bit like the trainer I had tonight. Of course, I've only seem him with his shirt on, but he was lifting some pretty heavy weights a couple weeks ago. I could use a new bat phone. One that gets FB! And that's got to be my favorite way to see the castle decorated!

Ahem. Anyone got a couch for me to stay on tonight?

Apparently, there are multiple bats in our attic (please spare me the bats-in-the-belfry references). Natasha was standing at the desk in the upstairs hall (right outside my bedroom door, as well as next to the door to the attic) and she could hear some noises in the attic. She insisted that DH check it out. When he opened the attic door, there was one little bat hanging on the wall next to the attic stairs, and another on the floor! DH caught those two and disposed of them, but thinks that they are getting in via the front of the house near the dormer. He left the light on up there for tonight, in the hopes of keeping them from being too active. Tomorrow, when there's enough light to see what's going on up there, he'll go back and see if he can get to the root of the problem.

For tonight, Boris and Natasha decided to sleep on the living room floor in their sleeping bags, since that's about as far from the bats as we can get for the moment. I will be sleeping on the couch. With one eye open.

I was just watching a taped show of Judge Mathis. Some black guy (Judge M is black too) was being sued by a woman who was pregnant with his 10TH (tenth!) child. He already had 9 by 5 different mothers and not taking care of the kids (except when he occasionally could, cause he has his own record label, don't ya know...) This guy was wearing a baggy orange suit with red stripes and matching vest

Anyway, good old Judge M really laid into him for being the kind of guy giving black men a bad name. He tore that guy to shreds!
