big l - is inclusion like mainstreaming? Maybe you can hope the new teachers will be full of gusto like our peej and not be burned out and will inspire him. or do you mean they're new teachers, but not new to teaching?

Yes, Cel...inclusion is pretty much the same as mainstreaming. And, while I know that is an important and valuable thing, I do believe that ALL "typical" children should experience interaction with their differently abled peers, not just a select few.

Lynette-- we don't even find out our teacher until they start. They give us a letter XYZ . We do ask the other kids what letter they got to see if they are in the same class though. Poor Hannah's grade 4 class will be huge next year. They have 3 classes now and will only have 2 next year. JK - grade 3 they limit the class size to 22. Hannah had 16 in her class this year. They were also asked to pick 3 people they wanted in there class next year since the now gets to up make up the classes for next year.

NAB, after some more expert sleuthing and a few callbacks from my network of moms, I found out the names of several kids who'll be in Boris' class in the fall. All of them girls. I also found out that Boris' 4th grade teacher is not a new teacher! I thought she was because her name was not on the online staff list for that school for the 2008-2009 school year, but it turns out she was on maternity leave! YAY! So that's one concern allayed.

There will be 6 4th grade classes on my side of town in the fall. The average class size is slated to be 17 kids.

Tonight her facebook status will be "I hate Celery AND Elisabeth! They're never getting in at Chef Mickey's even if I'm not here! and I'm going to dump random cats at Sunnybrook farm and promise to never meet Celery! I still like Lynette though. For the moment."

that's kinda how my relationship with lynt is too. i take it moment by moment. cuz her voices are frightening and you never know when they might tell her it's time to *sever* that small thread connecting her to reality. (hey if i'm gonna have everybody ticked off at me, i might as well do it right)

It is still raining....

We played baseball in the rain last night. It was Nicholas first game back and all I could think of is he going to wipe out in the wet grass. They put him in a spot were he didn't really have to run but still. We all were pretty wet when we got home. The only one happy about it was Hannah. She played with her bouncy ball the whole 4 innings, they called the game after that because of the rain. It rained the whole time We were ahead until the bottom of that inning and our coach wanted to play one more because the score was 8-10 the parents said we will take the lost lets go home!

Now I get to go on a field trip in the rain. Some of the activities were suppose to be outside. We get to go back in time and be Pioneers. Make butter, candles and such.

Funny part is that I don't mind getting wet really I just don't like the flat hair that comes with it.

Field trip was so much fun they kept up inside to do the candle making and we didn't have to go find our own sticks to make a talking stick ( if you are wondering what this is , it is a big branch stick with fur tied at one end and beads and a feather at the other end. Natives used this at meeting so the only person that talked had the stick) The kids of course said since they all had one they all could talk.... It to me looked like a marshmallow on a stick. And the dripped candles they made looked like dog poo. They dipped them so much the were chunky. The leader told them it looked like an O Henry bar but all the adults knew what they really looked like.

Went to lunch at ESPN with my old group today and got my going away gift, but they changed it from the rendering of the hotel to a little sail boat on a pedestal with a clock in front and logos on the sail and the name and date engraved it the back.

I'm still working, but at least I am at home. The rest of the group is still in the office. I had enough trouble driving home tonight in semi-darkness and rain, I kept following the lines, which sometimes took me to turn lanes I didnt want to go to Really need to get my eyes fixed.

Time to get some dinner, then back to work. Or maybe NOT. HA!

OK, decison is no more work for me tonight, I am Fried!

News update about asst #2 though, found out today that since she changed her pic on POF, she has gotten a lot of attention.

Peej - That's a heck of a long day. My day yesterday was 11 am until 11 pm and that was bad enough. I went in late because I could only work 32 hours this week. It was nice having a short day today.

I went to a consultation this afternoon for strength training with a personal trainer. I signed up for four weeks. We'll see how it goes . . . Hubby has almost caught up with me on the weight loss, so I need to crank it up a notch

Marita - That sounds like a cool going away gift. Yes, you really should look into having your eyes take care of I was feeling kind of fried tonight too. I fell asleep in my chair!

Nabbie - Glad you finally had a FUN field trip!!!!!

Peej, I really do think about you all the time! I was just telling a coworker about you!
She was saying how she was going to take her girls to WDW over christmas break.
which made me think of you and how you get to see YOUR fireworks for your birthday every year. so then I had to explain about you - how you're from Cincy, just graduated from Xavier, just finished your first year of teaching, but now you're working at a restaurant in disney world.
Then I said "I know I'm weird. I've never even met her!"
Anyway, I'm trying to convince her to take her daughter out of school and go during the first two weeks of december.
cuz I can't imagine trying to fight the crowds on your very first trip.

I'm headed to Nashville!
I should've left at 5 am since I need to be there for a 9 am meeting, but I conveniently "forgot" when my alarm didn't go off.
I'll make it to the 1 pm meeting, however.
