MOOvers on the MOOve Again

Good evening, hello, how is everyone, etc.

First and foremost I would like to thank the bbn for that life altering limerick. I think you should compile a poem/limerick book. Then you can get it published and teachers everywhere can read it to children and use it to make them do absurd school projects involving multiple parts. This plan is flawless, you may begin.

Oh that is so where I belong right now. :goodvibes We have a whole sequence of family photos taken on that porch. My mom has them all lined up in order. It's kind of fun to see them through the years. They have a photographer at the hotel every night before dinner when everyone is all fancy schmancy and they take your picture out on the porch.

Re: the no air conditioning in the rooms. It's true! BUT I don't remember ever wishing there was air conditioning. It never got too warm there.

Moo - Back when I was working full time (16 years ago ;) ), I worked for a commercial property underwriter, and we wrote the insurance for Mission Point Resort. I remember looking at it online, and thinking it was pretty too. It was also quite a bit cheaper than the Grand. I've heard the rooms at the Grand are not all that "Grand", but the nostalgia factor is what I want. :goodvibes
I sense a moover road trip to the Grand! Who's in? And who is paying for it? I think the rooms are grand. It's so cool because every room is different. It's not like most hotels where all the rooms are essentially the same. They're so unique. I just think it's so cool to be somewhere with such a long history that has stayed the same over all the years. It's timeless.

bbn...p.s. good luck to your cousin. Tell him all the moovers thank him. Wait. Would that make him think you're wIerd? Wait. Does he already think you're wIerd. Pretty sure that's a given...

L....so....did the fedex man ever get there??!

Marita...hope you enjoyed your day off.

My kids were out of control today. I left 13 of them inside with my assistant at recess today and there were probably others who should have lost their recess as well. I need a good day tomorrow, they wore me out!

Peej, I did indeed enjoy my day off.

Plus, I already asked yesterday for a regular day off on Monday. So I just have to make it through tomorrow till a 3 day weekend.

The Pox on out of control kids! (Only metaphorically, dear little angels)

Hey, HEY, HEY, yous guys! Guess what? (No, not chicken butt!) I am posting this here post from my sparkly new laptop! Can I get a w00t w00t?

It's lightweight and the screen is beautifully bright and has great resolution, and it's faster'n lightning! I am so very happy with it! YAAAAAY!!!!!!

I read back, and have this to say:

EEK and A-C-K, Lynt! That sounds horrible! :scared1:
I don't think any of my kids ever had such a teacher.

I remember a few tri-sided display boards though.

Dang the Fedex guy, doesn't he know how vital your laptop is? :sad2:

Thanks for the sympathy, Marita. I have made a concerted effort to not show Boris how this teacher's assignments irritate me, since I firmly believe that parents and teachers must really present a united front for the teacher to be able to do her job. But the workload this year is just hideous!

Hey big L -
Have Boris do someone from the salem witch trials. then he could explain his reasons for killing people. popcorn::

Cel, he really wanted to do his report on JFK, since that's someone with whom Boris really identifies, but JFK got assigned to someone else. Then he chose Theodore Geisel, but HE was taken too, so Boris chose Norman Rockwell. He's really excited about the taped interview, and has already decided on the outfit and props (pipe, glasses, sketch pad and easel, etc.).

You should have used the United States Postal Service. :upsidedow

Heh. Smartypants.

Peej, perhaps you need a police presence in that classroom? That oughta get the little buggers back in line! Sheesh!

That is great!!! WOOHOO!!!!! :dance3: :cool1: :yay:

Oh, we already have a full time security guard. Sometimes I call him up to give a little pep talk. That usually gets them in line. I can also send them down to him at any time if I need to.

Yes, they are thugs. BUT, they need someone to be non-thugish in their lives, kwim? I do NOT raise my voice around my kids. Maybe I speak in a firm tone, but I don't yell. I give lots of hugs and they know I care about them. I had one little boy tell me I was the only person who ever told him "I love you." :sad1: I spend way more time on the phone with Child Protective Services than I wish I had to. In fact, I wish I never had to make another CPS call and every child was loved and well cared for. Hey, I can dream, right? I don't know why I'm saying this. I guess I just feel like I'm at this school for a reason and despite the extreme thug days we go through, I still want to do exactly what I'm doing. Maybe that was my little pep talk to myself for tomorrow.

Lynette - Your post even looks better from the new laptop. :cool2:

I may need to borrow it, since I cannot get my son signed up for his classes online. GRRRRR!!!!!!!!! Every time I enter something, I click OK, and then it's like I did nothing at all. :confused3 :badpc: Now, I did wait til the last night to enter it, but he didn't get his last teacher signature until today. Guess procrastination runs in the family.

Anyway, I am just so frustrated. At least we have the classes filled out on the paper form, and he can turn that in tomorrow.

Have a goog evening Moovers!! Send me some PC pixie dust, please!!!!

Allie, sounds like you had a frustrating day. Sending you PC pixie dust!pixiedust:

PJ, sounds like a rough day :grouphug: Hope tomorrow is better.

I hope I can get out by 4:30 tomorrow, if the boss makes me hang around till 5, I might go crazy, honestly!

Peej, that brought me to tears. (Don't faint.) Poor little guy! I truly believe it takes a special sort of person to be a teacher. You are obviously really making a difference in those kids' lives....and that's a pretty amazing thing.

So are you comfy on your couch in PJs now?

How'd you know? :rolleyes1

Evening, all! I was out with my sister's BFF's birthday dinner at PF Chang's tonight. Yummo :thumbsup2

Hallelujah for your new laptop, Lynette!!! :dance3:

I'm still loving how fast my laptop turns on and off. It's sometimes those little things in life that really matter :)

Allie - Here's hoping you get the registration bugs worked out.

A MOOvers' meet at the Grand sounds loverly :goodvibes Maybe when one of us wins the lottery?

Peej - That's so cool that you have stayed at the Grand with your family. What a great memory.

Here's hoping for a calmer day at school tomorrow.

Ode to a bbn - YOU ROCK!

Nabbie - It's up to 59 here this evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marita - Goog call on the mental health day and pixiedust: for a regular day off

Pumba - Darn goog thing you're not pregnant! Leave that to the youngsters like MommyP. You're plenty busy with your grandkidlets

On the local news here just now: Rumors are that that Seaworld is up for sale, and Disney is listed as a potential buyer. I seriously doubt that though. I expect layoffs tomorrow, I don't see buying a park in the near future.

Hope that layoff doesn't involve you Marita!

thanks for all the PD, but it didn't work. I'm just sending in the written schedule tomorrow. After conferencing with several neighbors, I don't think it is working the way it is supposed too.

I'll be sending an email (probably along with all the other parents ;) ) to his guidance counselor tomorrow. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

good night all!

Thanks, Allie  I'm not so much worried about me, cause they didnt say anything directly about our division, I am more worried about DH, whose division was told directly there would be layoffs there.

I started reading this trip report with a picture of smoky portobello mushroom soup, and I thought, oh,that looks great, I'll look up the recipe and maybe make it this weekend.

Umm, I don't think so!

Marita - Just go to Artist's Point and order one "to go". ;) Sounds like way too much effort for me.
