Have you seen any of the Grisham movies adapted from books?

I have read a few of Michael Crichton, he defiantly has his own style. Have you tried Dan Brown? Angels and Demons is my favorite by him.

I have seen "The Firm". I'm not sure if I have seen any others as I can't think of any right now.

BBN: My nephew just joined the Marines. He goes for training in April. His parents said they never seen him more proud than at the swearing in ceremony. Of course I can include him in my prayers. :thumbsup2 Them great people.

I certainly appreciate men and women who make the decision to serve. Ty. and best of luck to your nephew.

I did not know he died :sad1:

The book that I am reading right now was his last published novel. (from what I understand) He died pretty young too. I think only in his 50's.

Twink: I might have read some Michael Cook. I'm bad about remembering authors names but if you hum a few bars I might be able to name that tune.

To any gal who might have requested such a thing, I offer you the following:

ode to the question mark

oh question mark, oh question mark
you are my favorite way to end a sentence
your seductive curve transfixes me each time that we meet

without you how could i clarify.
ask questions.
or delve deeper into my quest for knowledge?

oft times you are used with a hint of sarcasm
and for this i will be
eternally grateful

Well- it could be the whole #6 baby thing. Or the fact that you haven't gained weight so the uterus is out there. Or- and this is my favorite- that you are really 17, 18 or even 19 weeks.

As for twins- have them check reallly well at the u/s. However every twin mama, I have spoken to said that there was lots of early morning sickness. (Or it was their first pregnancy so they just thought everyone was that sick). By 16 weeks with my twins I had gained at least 14 lbs. I stayed at that weight a long time (they were even getting worried) and then I started packing on the weight at the end (like 5 lbs a week)

Also, I did NOT have a c-section and I don't see why you (MommyP, not the general you) would need one with twins unless there was some sort of complication. However my midwife did fire me when she saw twins. She doesn't do multiples ever and I don't know of a midwife that does so that would mean an OB/hospital birth most likely.

I really don't think I am further along, although I would LOVE that to be true. My "morning" sickness(what a joke it's not just in the morning. lol) started RIGHT at 6 weeks, which is when it always does. So I am pretty sure I am just 16 weeks. Also if I was further along I would be feeling the baby for sure a lot.

As for twins, like I said I really don't think it could be because I would have had to have gained weight by now, or at least be losing it from somewhere else. lol. I would fear a c-section because it seems so likely that one or both babies would be breech and there goes that. I would see the midwives OB husband(he'll be doing my u/s) since he is supposed to be REALLY great and since he is married to a hippy midwife he has to be natural minded than most. ;)

Would it be hard to see twins on a u/s at 17 weeks? I would think it would stick out...could they miss it? I'll make sure to tell him to be sure there is only one. lol.

Mony - Don't worry about me. It was sunny, but not hot. The weather is absolutely amazing right now. In fact, I'm going to the beach tomorrow. ;)

Good morning!

WOW, busy morning here. I took a sick day today.

What in the walt disney world is a heat index awareness class? I mean I know what the heat index is, but why do you need to take a class on such matters?

BBN, I have no idea :confused3

Congrats to the young men joining the Army and Marines. Bootcamp is going to be tough!!

:goodvibes GOOG MORNING!

Somewhere in Time :goodvibes Dh's family back before he was my dh, wanted to go on a family vacation, so I got to go along too!! Went to Macinac but just for the day!! Mission Point was a college back in the old days... So for our belated honeymoon - we went to Macinac but stayed a week!! We went back to Stonecliff (http://www.stonecliffe-condos.com/)

It truly was like a dVC rental!! We went to the Grand for tea - but also heard about the rooms - some dont have air conditioning - actually the last time we were there - most didnt, because its so far north, Mackinac didnt have a/c in any of their rooms!! Not sure about now!!

and DH bought me the vhs version of Somewhere in Time and he also bought the cd -

Yep, we also did the pub crawl - ah the RUM RUNNERS!!! goog memories!!

:yay:

not that i'm bored or anything...

cleaning... hmmm interesting concept...

weather is supposed to be warming up, so that means I need to get out there and move.... dh has a whole Half Marathon training schedule for me... :faint:

:surfweb:

I have got to let go of htis BAchelor nonsense - but honestly its not fair to throw Jason under the bus - I hope he takes Chris Harrison (how can that man lie so easily? Does he not know there are tapes of him saying one thing? and now he's like "I had no idea" - and surely Jason's contract is going to surface - just stop lying!! ITS SCRIPTED - not like here's your script say it this way, stand over here... but there are storyboards (hello? how do they get those camera angles?) and they have to tell a story!!

good grief, even BIG BROTHER is scripted - they hire their "stars" to play the darn roles!! (when someone goes into a confessional a producer leads them on with questions, if they dont like the first answer, they are coached till the producers get on camera words to continue a storyline!) duh!

(we need a stalker girl on bach every season? a drunk girl? hmmm how about a mean girl? a gossip girl? oh a sweet innocent girl? and they all have to be YOUNG - :sad2: )

Wow Sandy, this Bachelor thing is really eating you up.

WOW, what a scare I just had! I ran to 7-11 (well, I drove) to get gas and ice. The girl at the counter asked if I needed help with the 10 lb. bag of ice. Do I look that old and needy???

Anyway, the scare was that when I hit refresh for the DIS, I got the dreaded "Database Error". NOOOOOOOOOOOO, not on my sick day :scared1:

But luckily it didnt last long, whew!!

Hi everyone!!!!!

So anyway, Lost is getting extremely strange. I hope they don't get kicked this season. I'm just not seeing where they can take the show anymore. :confused3

I agree about Lost....very strange, indeed! FYI, next season is scheduled to be the end of the series. Supposedly, the creators/writers already have the end of the show in mind. Don't know how the heck they intend to wrap all this up in a season and a half.

I still haven't seen the finale!!! so SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH to Lynt who has.

The only news to report around these parts it that my 18 yo cousin joined the army. I am very proud of his decision to defend and protect our country, but I am nervous for him as well. Wish him luck y'all.

1. Lips zipped: check!

2. God bless your cousin! You have good reason to be proud. I have the utmost respect for anyone who chooses to serve, especially in these uncertain times.

I liked Angels and Demons too! Much better than DaVinci Code, even. :thumbsup2

Wow, an ode PLUS a limerick! How creative of you, Nursey. Loved 'em both, but I'm especially amused by the limerick. Thank you for sharing. :rotfl:

Well, it's 1:15 here and I am still awaiting the delivery of my laptop. My mom is at home, waiting for the Fed Ex man to come (darn those guys....does anyone here have any clout with that company? AHEM!), but there's no sign of him so far. Patience is NOT my strong suit, y'know.

My latest story about Boris' nuisance teacher: His entire class has to select a famous Massachusetts person who made a significant impact in the world. Each child will do a 2-part report. In the first part, the child will answer written interview questions as the VIP. In the second part, the child will write (as him/herself) a 3-page essay about the VIP. At the end of March, each child will dress up as their VIP and give a presentation in the first person about the VIP, complete with relevant props, which will be videotaped by the teacher. All this will be followed up by a portrait of the VIP, to be done in class. There will be peer-grading as well as the usual marks by the teacher. ACK! This is THIRD GRADE, people! Can we fast-forward to June so that Boris and I can leave this teacher behind? HELP!

EEK and A-C-K, Lynt! That sounds horrible! :scared1:
I don't think any of my kids ever had such a teacher.

I remember a few tri-sided display boards though.

Dang the Fedex guy, doesn't he know how vital your laptop is? :sad2:

I have Christina's Court on TV right now, and this young woman is on there showing tons of ****age. I don't think that will sway the judge(ess)....

Hey big L -
Have Boris do someone from the salem witch trials. then he could explain his reasons for killing people. popcorn::

hey all you moovers, but especially baby nurse.
you should read Crichton's book about global warming and how its fake. I can't remember what its called.
but it's good!
Y'all know I'm secretly a Republican, right? popcorn::

You should have used the United States Postal Service. :upsidedow

Maybe they are sending it via pony express.

I was watching "Judge Joe Brown" the other day and this gal was on there and she said "I know I'm hot" and kinda slapped her booty and gave it a shake. Judge Brown said "That ain't doin' a thing for me honey. Better shake it somewhere else":rotfl:

Excellent book. My favorite is Timeline

Goog Luck Marita!

Sandy, that's Lynts laptop, not mine. I rushed out and bought mine the day after mine died!

I do find comfort in knowing that DH now has a laptop too, that he rarely uses. Mostly to order new movies from netflicks.

I just moved all my sheets to DD's now vacant room. Not sorted or anything, just in a pile, so now the linen closet will only hold towels. Both piles need to be weeded out though. One step at a time.

I am defrosting some chicken livers (again) and need to go chop an onion. SUCH FUN! I could have sworn I had chicken breasts in bone in the freezer for fricassee, but NO! I checked 3 times. I have skinless for a la king, but not in the mood for that, plus we only have fat free (or maybe low fat) milk in the house. That will not do!!

So I have been doing a tiny bit of housework, cooking, followed by a long stretch of doing nothing :rolleyes1
Gotta take advantage of a mental health day, I need it!

sorry Marita, I thought I typed Lynt name!! :upsidedow

DD is going to drive me crayzy - she only reads. and writes Fan Fiction... she isnt doing band, she isnt doing art club, she isnt doing nothing... I HATE 6th grade!!

and poor Boirisyou cant HATE the teacher's assignments without them knowing... so it just colors the whole system WRONG.... I would make sure how much he can do at school... I've gotten to that point tho in dd school life - its just stupid...

hey, and I love that Judge Judy says SHUT UP!! I think she is the only one that can get away with it... but some people just arent taking responsibility....

Sandy - I did nothing at all today except sew a couple diapers. lol. I don't nap, except on Sunday's. The long drive home from church does me in and I have to sleep when we get home.

Sandy, I love Judge Judy, although sometimes she gets on my nerves, as she is ALWAYS right!:headache: But it makes for entertaining TV.

I have my chicken livers defrosted and onion chopped. DH is in bed, so it's just for me and leftovers.

Finally got my laundry put away, and the half basket that needs to be rewashed cause the cat thought it was a great bed put in the garage. But I still have a pile of socks waiting to be folded.

I have Judge Joe Brown on. Im not usually a fan, but I saw Divorce Court today since I was home. Usually I watched the DVR the of that at this time. Probably 1/4 or 1/2 of it since I was working.

Off to make dinner....
