MOOvers on the MOOve Again

Only one more week of class for me! And exams the next week. Today I am writing/plagiarizing a lab on the concept of natural selection.... using M&Ms. :cool2::idea:
Woo Hoo on almost being done with your class! Using M&Ms? Sounds like a move out of the "new math" playbook ;) Will they just be red and green for Christmas? Peanut, plain, almond, or PB? Or will you use a variety and make them calculate the number of possible outcomes??!

Lynette - Yay for your proud mam moment! :woohoo:

Marita - Again I say w00t for MOOving on to a greener pasture :grouphug:

Peej - My sympathies to you on the boneheaded decision regarding that Christmas concert

Based on how stiff I was last night and this morning, maybe I should have opted for that cold tub. Brrrrr. Guess I got more exercise than I thought  I got to do some new stuff at my workout tonight, including planks and lifting the big dumbbell over my head. The weight was fairly puny, but I know they'll ramp it up a bit over the next few weeks.

Here's a chicken poncho for you! :lmao:

What's everyone got planned for tomorrow? I'm going to a big arts and crafts show at MSU, hopefully with my sister. Should be fun! And then I may be going to that new DeNiro movie with a friend.

My big accomplishment for this week was packing up five bags of clothes and coats (that are now way too big for me) :goodvibes to donate to Goodwill. My hubby asked me last night if I had any stuff to donate and he got a lot more than he bargained for! But he loaded the bags up in his truck and dropped them off today. Fortunately, I had sorted out a bunch of stuff a few weeks ago, so all I had to do was put all those clothes in bags and clean some stuff out of my closets. I kept one pair of my biggest jeans and one pair of pants for comparison purposes. I still have a few things I couldn't part with for sentimental reasons, but it sure feels like a big weight was lifted!!! :)

Hi gang. I'm still around. And will continue to be more "around" if I keep eating the way I am. But it's the holidays, right? Isn't stuffing yourself overlooked during the holidays? (exception=being faaa'aaar along)

Since you asked Moo.....Right now my kids and dh are all at basketball practice and I am actually NOT working for once on a Saturday. This afternoon we are heading up to the dh's high school for a silver anniversary banquet for the basketball team he was on. I think this is the year theywon state or something.

Lots going on at Sunnybrook Farms. My dh is now an assistant varsity bball coach for the high school team, so that means I am a basketball widow. Practice 5-6 days a week and games 1-2 days a week. Being an assistant coach means he is also in charge of the "biddy ball" program so he is gone on Sundays too. But that's ok, because Red plays biddy ball and he would have to be there anyway.

Ethan plays on the 5th grade team, Caleb is on the freshman team, and Julia is a manager for the varsity.

Basically my life is basketball. It's Indiana, what can I expect. Right?

Now that I've bored y'all to tears, I will say "Have a nice weekend".:thumbsup2

BBN, you might as well go to work and be birthing babies, nobody at home anyway it sounds like :sad2:

Moo, yay for getting rid an too big clothes, must have felt great :woohoo:

Still a dreary day here, after continuing to rain all night after all day yesterday. At least the rain stopped. I really should go to the grocery store and the wine store and get my nails done, but I never feel like going out when its greay and dreary...

Speaking of weather, DS called a little while ago. He had plans to get his furniture out of storage today. A friend of his arrived last night, so they were going to rent a u-haul so they have something to sit on at least, not to mention beds... DS has been sleeping on an air mattress. But, ALAS, a snowstorm hit, squashing all plans. He said he cant make out the road from the curb, so renting a U-Haul is out of the question for sure for today. He is hoping to at least be able to go out to the grocery store and get some tools to finish his garage door opener.

I started working on a file for new job (cause thats better than housework :rolleyes1 I should also probably finish something for old job, but Naaaa, going to leave that for the new guy :laughing::laughing:

I really should get my bum in gear and go out....

Have a great Saturday everyone!

someone put a jinx on us Mainers.......that dreaded white stuff is falling from the sky.....

Today before this started we took our new car for a drive...We had a nice ride thru the cities and then out in the country where our son and dil live....let them look it over and home again......we parked it in the back and put the truck up front again....Now we have 71 miles on the new car. YIKES time for a trade in...hahaha..it is comfortable

Marita .....when you have a few....can you tell me how to make those stuffed cabbage rolls .......I would love to make them....actually I would LOVE TO EAT THEM....
Good news on the kiddos report cards........two A+'s is a totally rocking grade.

Cel......great sales for your party.......that is awesome......

Hi y'all. Remember just the other day when I told you all it was 70 degrees here? Yeah, that's over. It's SNOWING now! :headache:

Pumba, what are we doing in New England? We HATE the snow! And yes, I agree that 2 A+'s are totally rockin! Since the kids did so well on their report cards, we've decided to let them stick around a while. :rotfl:

Unfortunately, DH and I got some sad news late last night. Our friend Kevin's dad, who was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukemia, passed away last night. I'm so sad for Kevin and his family...losing someone is never good, but he went so quickly (less than a month from diagnosis to the end) and it was so out of the blue. If you guys have any spare prayers lying around, I'd sure appreciate them for the family.

NAB, how was the mall? What'd you buy? popcorn:::

The mall was ok , only took an hour to see Santa. He went on a half hour break just as we got in line....then he didn't come back for an hour. What is up with that. All Hannah asked for is a Tinkerbell suitcase. I knew that was on the top of her list so I bought it already. It is just one of those kids ones. I wanted to get her a hard case one but the store sells Disney ones says she can't get Tinkerbell anymore for some reason and tried to sell me a Hannah Montana one. At least Tinkerbell she would out grow like Hannah....

And for what we bought last night....Hannah needed new winter boots and they were 30% off too. She got a white pair with fur on the tops and you tie them up at the front. She looks like a snow bunny. She wore them all last night and when I got up this morning she was wearing them with her p.j's. She told me she loves her boots.:rotfl: She has big feet , she is into a womens 5 now.

Of course we have the boots and no snow yet. It seems to be all around us to the north and west but not here yet. :confused3 Is going to be cold tonight though -9 Celius. brrr Hope we don't have to scrape frost tomorrow before church.

Off to watch The Knowing and Santa Buddies.

There you go, Pumba, good luck!

Sorry about the weird spacing, the way it copied from Excel, I tried to fix some of it.

Sorry too about the snow, Pumba and Lynt, but I'm even more sorry for DS being stuck in the snow and not being able to finally get his furniture out of storage.

Went to the grocery store this afternoon, after I promised to make DD liver and onions tomorrow (I know, miracles do happen, my kids and DH and even I love it), and bought stuff for Pumbas cheesecake again! Think I will make that in a little while.

Off to put the groceries away....

ROLL TIDE!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Ok, for the non sports freaks who decided to read anyway (and you know who you are ;)) Our Alabama football team just beat Florida in the SEC championship game!!!! Excitement is filling the Allie household. Although, I am rooting for TX Colt McCoy to win the Heisman. His granddaddy gave me my first job, so I feel a little loyalty to him. Plus, he's a smart player. :thumbsup2

Ok, sports talk is over with, now on to other matters........

IT SNOWED THIS MORNING!!!! Ok, I know Pumba is rolling her eyes at me, but it is a BIG FREAKIN' DEAL down here when you wake up to white stuff on the ground!! :goodvibes

I am soooooooo laughing at all of our posts........two against snow and then the southern folk who think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.......My friend in Georgia love a few flakes here and there......we are a good bunch..

Thanks so much Marita for that recipe......it is different then the one I made years ago with rice and meat mixed up together.....and then laid in tomato sauce to cook.......this sounds right up my husbands and myself;s alley.......thanks for taking the time to do it..

I too bought some more pie fixings.....what is wrong with my inners.......I want the pies again.....

I took Megara out to go potty and she ran around like a nut.....leaping in the air like a gazelle......it was funny to watch her and then she did her two Items of interest to me and then said "lets get out of this stuff" .
I guess that means she would like to move south too......we are mislaid people....the stork left us in the wrong part of the US..

Pumba. I make stuffed peppers with rice and sauce mixed int, but not cabbage rolls. That is with brown sauce. But I suppose you can do it any way you like.

The pie is made and cooling in the fridge (with cherry topping).

I guess I better start slicing some onions for tomorrow, cause I KNOW I wont feel like it then, and if I dont make liver and onions tomorrow, I will never hear the end of it from DD. Problem is, she doesn't get off work till 6, so I will be cooking at 7 on a Sunday night just for her. Things you do for your kids!!!

Allie, yay for some snow for you. All we got is tons and tons of rain!:sad1: I'd love some flakes, that would be some excitement. I think it snowed once or twice for 3 seconds in 38 years here....

we probably have about four inches now of that white stuff.....it came down fast....

I love liver .....especially chicken liver with onions........YUMMY.......I get a lb or so of them and cook them up right away and then when I want some I take a few out and warm them up in the microwave and YUMMY...

Marita......next grocery day I am getting the ingredients to make brown sauce with stuffed cabbage .....I could eat this every day until they are gone..

okey where are you guys......

twenty four hours ago I posted......Now come out come out wherever you are....

Hugs to you all

Just finished watching Amazing Race....finally I picked the winning team.

Went to church then the inlaws for the day. The kids wanted to go see there grandparents. It was a nice day.

Now I have to get the kids to bed. Back to school tomorrow.

I tried to post last night, but the DIS was down :confused3

Thanks for all the updates! It's nice hearing what everyone's up to.

Pumba - So sorry about all your white stuff. Ours was pretty fleeting so far. Yay!

bbn - Busy, busy, busy at your house! I've been hearing lots of Buble on the Christmas music station that I listen to :goodvibes

Nabbie - My friend Debbie was looking forward to the Amazing Race finale tonight too. We went to see that new DiNiro movie, Everybody's Fine, this afternoon. It was pretty good, but a little sad. I'm looking forward to watching the Biggest Loser finale Tuesday night. I'm rooting for Danny.

Lynette - Sending prayers for your friend's dad. So sorry to hear about that  Did you sell those zhu zhus yet?!

Allie - Congrats on your team's win!

Marita - Hope you were able to get your cooking done tonight. I was cooking up a storm this evening - homemade meatballs with Paul Newman's Own marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese for dinner, chicken salad for lunches this week using some of the meat from a rotisserie chicken (I put dried cranberries and walnuts in it along with the onion and celery . . . pretty yummy if I do say so myself!), and a batch of Philly steak mini quiches. I also cut up some celery and green pepper for lunches this week. I do better when I have stuff I can easily grab in the morning.

I bought a Wii today because I want to get the new Biggest Loser game, but all the jacks on our living room TV are in use! I need to figure out where I can set it up. The bedroom TVs are pretty small and not in very good locations. I may need to figure out a way to rearrange my room so I can set it up.

WOW, Moo, you sound like the cooking queen today! YAY for the new game.

I got livers and onions done, and they were yummy, but I swear I am not going to be cooking at 7pm on a Sunday again! DD loves stuffed peppers too, so maybe next time I make those, at least those can be reheated (leftover liver and onions are impossible!!, YUCK). Got the dishes done and the stove cleaned. I swear, you put a pan on the top, and it takes an army to clean it before you start cooking. But hubby got it all cleaned again.

DS finally got his furniture moved last night, and finished installing new garage door openener, which required multiple trips to Home Depot because he had to buy the needed tools. Now he is talking about buying new stove, fridge and dishwasher. The money pit has begun............ Oh, not to forget a snowblower he wants, after digging out from 2 feet of snow this morning.

The money pit has begun.........

Talked to mom today, she is enjoying lots of festivities for the holidays at the home, she always loved that

New job tomorrow, so I better turn in early

Off to new york! I am so tired. I couldn't sleep last night, so I took some benadryl.
I've always heard that it makes some kids hyper -
well I was super tired, but it's like I had restless leg syndrome.
Breadman stayed over and I felt bad that I was keeping him up (I wasn't. He said he couldn't feel me moving around), so I finally slept on the couch about 11:30 or 12.
and then the alarm went off at 3:30 like I planned it to.
argh.
at least after I drive to the airport, I don't have to drive again today.
Michael is doing all the driving, thank goodness.
I have two papers due Thursday! ack!
so between work and school, I won't be around much.

I went and did a craft show on Saturday to promote my pampered chef stuff.
it was spur of the moment. I didn't find out about it until Friday night at 11 pm.

I'm also working on my cards. woo! Expect a handmade card, all you moovers!
except for lil g. I didn't know how his little :cutie: would feel about cards from strange women! :rotfl:

GooG Morning moovers.

This is my first 8 am without my little Ava.........I already miss her even though I am in my housecoat still and havent taken a shower like I am usually done by now....
I did get up early to put out the Monday morning trash....YUCK.....

Marita........has your son been exposed to alot of snow before?? I was wondering about that when I read your post......If he can get someone to plow him for a while that may be a good option....they usually charge by the snowstorm.....Otherwise tell him to make sure he looks into a Toro Snowblower and get an electric start cord......much easier to start it in the cold instead of pulling a pully to start it.....

Glad that your mom is enjoying the holiday festivities in her area........that way she wont be lonely for her home....

If it isnt to slippery ....my dil and our little granddaughter (Megan is 3)...we may go shopping ....

Tomorrow is my eye recheck for my pressure......it was up last month and hopefully I dont have to go back on Glaucoma drops.....I did those for over 13 or so years......been a long time.....and for the last year (since cataract surgery) I havent had to do any at all.....so keep my eyes in your thoughts tomorrow.......I would appreciate it.

Cel.....dont forget to study a little on your trip to the big City.....Our granddaughter is having her last classes this week and then next week she still has two more finals to do.......the other tests are finished.......

Celery --Breadman stayed over interesting....:upsidedow At least if someone else is driving you can catch some ZZZZ

Moo-- I am looking forward to the Biggest Loser on Tuesday too. I want Danny to win too even though everytime I see him now I think Fred Flintstone.....

Pumba-- no snow here yet at all. I am going shopping. Hubby has the rental car until Wed. So I have to take advantage before we go back to just my car again. I am almost done my shopping and will have to concentrate on my cookies next. Never to early to start praying for you eyes , don't have to wait until tomorrow.

Babynurse -- still thinking and keeping your mom in my prayers too.

Marita-- Hope the new job is better then the last and less stressful! If I was your son I would get a snowblower too out there. And like Pumba said with an electrical start not a pull like a lawnmower.

Happy Monday? Let's see, what can I contribute? Probably nothing of interest. Cookie is no longer with us, God rest his hamster soul. That made for some interesting conversations today. My favorite was the child who was overly concerned wanting to make sure Cookie wasn't alone when he died. I of course had to say I was with him so then the kid wanted to know if he had said anything he wanted to share with them before he went. Because he used to talk so much when he was still with us????? :confused3 I should have told him he scratched the side of the cage 3 times then winked at me which means I love you.
They made him cards for me to bury with him. They were too cute. Little do they know by burying him what I meant was the custodian took him out to the dumpster after school. Don't judge, I didn't know what to do!!

I've never heard of cabbage rolls before this thread.

A Carrie Underwood concert is on tv right now. Awesome.

That's all I've got.
