All this Thanksgiving talk makes me what another one.....:lmao:

I do need to get into the Christmas spirit though. Hannah has been bugging me to put up the tree. Maybe this weekend after she gets home from Guide camp.

Went to the doctors for this horrible cough and he tells me I have bronchitis. I have to go to the drug store and pick up a puffer thing. Never used one of those before but it better work. Tired of coughing until I almost throw up.

Twinkie-- Only 10 weeks left. Wow that went fast! Well maybe not for you ....:lmao:

Marita-- don't work so hard , you just had surgery! Is your son coming home this week or just for Christmas?

Pumba-- Is your hubby making his giant pies for Thanksgiving. I agree I have one of those little spatula things too and love it.

Moo-- How did your weekend with Mari go? She must really see a difference in the two of you.

yup dear hubby is making the pie of all pies........because if you really want to know .......I have a hard enough time making a small pie crust and he has NO problems making this pie crust for this pie.......takes two recipes to do a bottom crust......
I will make apple pie for my vegetarian son in law and a cheesecake for me too......it is an easy recipe for that cheesecake.
one pkg of softened cream cheese....8 ounce.
one can of sweetened condensed milk...14 ounce.
one third cup of lemon juice.
a teaspoon of vanilla......mix altogether with electric mixer
and pour in a graham cracker crust...put in fridge for a few hours....top with can of blueberrys (3.99 for a stinking can) so I got 2 for five dollars and ended up with cherry....

delicious

Pumba, that recipe sounds easy and good, I think I might try it.

Twinkie, 10 weeks?????? WOW! BTW, I finished the pink baby blanket I started in honor of you, but it turned out way too small, more like doll size :sad1: And kind of amateurish, LOL. So it's not going anywhere but a girl with a doll or charity.

General Alert, I started another baby blanket in blue that is looking pretty good so far. Who's next???????? :rolleyes1

BBN. Renee??????? I wonder why you thought of that name :cool2:

I can't tell you all how GLAD I am to have Wednesday off. Unfortunately, I have a Dr appt at 9am. so part of my precious vacation day is wasted! :sad1:

Marita....this cheesecake is so rich and delicious........and people will want to know what, where and how to make it......just refridge it and eat it at your hearts content.......I am drooling thinking of it...

Oh yah....does anyone else like the medallians under the turkey ......they are sort of round and are the most tenderest part of the bird......I LOVE THESE......if I do the putting the turkey on the platter then I eat them as I work......hahaha...
Nab......why not have a couple of turkey days......we used to have the turkey in Connecticut with my memere and pepere and all our family (only with meat dressing) and then in November have the traditional thanksgiving dinner......I loved the best of two worlds...We bought an extra bird for the heck of it and then hubbies company gives them the bird (hahaha) for Christmas...
Our thanksgiving bird is 22 lbs....so hopefully I can stuff the sucker and have it all reach the right temp at the right time for dinner......I love this day better then any other meal I can fix........YUMMY

I need some good baby name ideas. Only 10 weeks to go and the only suggestions are Princess Leia, Crystal Rainbow, and Charlotte. I am not in love with any of the above.

Welp...I think you should go for something that will be memorable. Something like Younique. No, wait....something biblical....I hear that Genesis is popular in some areas of the country. :rolleyes1 Or maybe something tried and true, but with a twist....like Jennifah. Decisions, decisions........

So when's the party? And where is my invite?

Well, uh..I...uhm. Heh. :scared:

I should reaaaaally be chopping/slicing/simmering/mixing/baking, but I decided to do laundry and tidy up some of my ebay auctions instead. Yes, I do realize that this thread has nothing to do with either of those, but I'm a rebellious sort. Ha.

Just got home from taking Mari back to the airport . . . boo hoooo :sad1: At least we only have to wait a month to see her again.

But, we had a very nice visit. Yesterday, Mari and I went to see New Moon :thumbsup2 and Don saw the Disney Christmas Carol movie. Today we went up to Frankenmuth and had their famous chicken for lunch.

Nabbie - We didn't go whole hog with the family style dinner, we just went downstairs at Zehnder's. Not as much fun, but we can't eat enough to make the family-style dinner worthwhile any more. We haven't really lost that much more weight since vacation to have been noticeable to Mari during this visit.

After lunch, we did a little shopping in Frankenmuth and then stopped at the outlet mall and we all found something to purchase. I got a short black wool coat since my old coat is too large for me now

Lynette - Yikes on the risque request that mom made during Natasha's meeting

Marita - Sounds like you've had an exciting weekend! New appliances and all. I had a four-day weekend, so I figure I can hack two days at work this week.

Peej - Thanksgiving at the beach. w00t! Enjoy your time away from the kiddos.

Twink - 'Tis the season for carbs. That cake sounds delish! I've been having more trouble resisting them lately. Grrr.

Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all of my online buddies!

I hope everyone has a truly wonderful holiday and gets to enjoy some time relaxing and being with family. :goodvibes

I will be heading to the beach house tomorrow. My flight leaves right after school. Mom and dad are already there, uncle and grandpa should be getting there shortly, and me, little sister, aunt, and cousin all fly in tomorrow after school/work from various airports. Unfortunately Hollywood will not be able to join us this year. She can't get any days off. She's working the next 13 days straight. I don't think I've ever had a Thanksgiving without my big sister! :sad1:

Peej....out.

Pumba -- my mom makes an easy cheese cake to that I love. It is a graham wafer bottom then cream cheese mixed with Dream whip( not cool whip) , then cherry pie filling on top with a few graham wafer saved from the bottom sprinkled on top. No baking just put it in the fridge. There maybe vanilla in the dream whip part.

Moo-- lucky you, I would love to go to the Christmas shop right now. I'm looking for something to put on my new fireplace mantle. I have been looking at other peoples decorations on the CB board. Someone has a stocking holder l like. It spells out Santa. I found one that said Noel but it wasn't as nice and was very expensive.

All this food talk has made me hungy. I had a chicago roll with prosciutto and butter cheese for dinner, but I still want something else, I just cant think of anything I want to eat :confused3

Hey, I have that same stocking holder NAB! Ours is burnished brass. We used to have weighted ceramic Santa and Mrs. Claus (for DH and me) and snowman boy & girl for Boris and Natasha, but Mr. Lalijack is rather like a bull in a china shop, and...well, you can probably figure out what happened to them.

Sitting here with tears in my eyes watching "Find My Family" sniffle....

PS: Tip I read on the web re: deviled eggs. Put eggs on their side the night before cooking so the yolk sits evenly between the halves

Peej - Sorry that Hollywood can't have time off over Thanksgiving :grouphug: Maybe you need to go see her at WDW!

Nabbie - Yes, it was fun to shop at Bronner's, but that place is so overwhelming and I didn't get to shop there as long as I would have liked. Mari picked out a Labrador Retriever ornament (like her dog) and I found a cow ornament by Jim Shore. I love his stuff - I looked at his Disney line, which they have there, but was able to control myself and just bought the cow. I bought a couple ornaments as gifts. My hubby found some stocking hangers which we also got, but they are really just brass clips that allow you to hang the stockings from the mantle. I think I'm going to put my collection of Hallmark house ornaments on the mantle this year with some tiny white lights. Pottery Barn always has nice stocking hangers with different sayings.

Moo...that's brilliant!! Now that you mention it, I guess I will have to see her over Christmas! :santa:

Marita...I just realized I never commented on you moving to the Contemporary. I did read that news twice. See, I didn't skim! I hope you like it there. Where exactly are there offices in the Contemporary? I can pm you a list of all the creepy stalker people who work in the kitchen of Chef Mickey's for your reference. You're welcome in advance.

I am obviously procrastinating.

PJ, 3rd floor offices. pardon me if I dont draw a map, LOL

Creepy stalker list would be appreciated  Although I doubt anyone would stalk me ... :rolleyes1

In unrelated developments, I was whining to my friend about having a Dr. appt scheduled on my day off on Wednesday, and I had the brilliant idea of calling tomorrow to reschedule

you could always reschedule while you are sitting in your pj's or housecoat on the couch.....yah that would be good.

I havent heard the lay the eggs on their side thingie.....I do love deviled eggies though.

If I am making macaroni salad I put my eggs in the water while i wait for it to come to a boil before I add my macaroni......the eggs to cut up are always perfect ......I imagine you could do that to the eggs for potato salad, just never did it because I dont do potato salad....hahaha..
Hope you all have a good day......hugs going out to all those that need it...and for those who dont......here is a hug anyways:goodvibes

Good morning everyone! Today is my work's thanksgiving lunch.
I made a cake with a turkey on it.
:thumbsup2

Not much else to report.
Just saying hi.

Looks like it was another slow day here . . . everyone must be busy prepping for Thanksgiving. Back to work for me today after having a couple days off, but it went pretty fast for a change. I think I can make it through one more day of work in order to have another four-day weekend!!! :cool1: DD made it home safely, albeit quite late last night.

Marita - Did you get your doctor's appointment rescheduled?

Cel - Pictures! We need pictures of your fancy, schmancy cakes! We don't do anything special for Thanksgiving at my office, just for Christmas.

Moo, yes, got my appt rescheduled for next week, same day as eye follow-up, so I am going to take a sick day that day :thumbsup2

Cel, I agree, we need cake pics!

We don't do anything special at the office either. Big potluck with turkey and ham provided by the company for Xmas, and we have a white elephant exchange, which is always a load of fun. I always bring a bottle of wine hidden in a shoe box or something, so you don't know it's a bottle. Booze is always in demand and usually gets stolen the limit of 3 time. :drinking::drinking1

I am off the rest of the week, yeehaw!!!! Making a list of all the things I want to get done tomorrow. Shopping list is pretty much done, I'm going to attempt Pumba's cheese cake, if I am in the mood (always iffy), make the deviled eggs and maybe the broccoli-cheese casserole to take on Thursday, since we are supposed to be there at noon for hour's deuvres and dinner at 1.

Lots of housecleaning and straightening up to do tomorrow too. We shall see how much I actually get done

DS had is house inspection done yesterday, and it passed, so he is all set for the closing on Tuesday. All he has to do is get there in time, his plane gets in at 12:30 and the closing is at 2pm. So there better not be any delays... :scared:

MommyP has been noticably absent lately, both here and there, hope everything is OK.

marita....just make sure that your cream cheese is softened.....take it out of the container and put it in your bowl you will mix it with.(mixer)......it is wicked easy and my kiddos can even make it.......delicious.......I am anxious for your report on it if you make it...

have I mentioned how thankful I am for all of you ....

your are the best......
