Happy Giving Birth Day, Twink!!! Yes, it is hard to believe that Grasshopper is two today :cake::cake:

Lil G - I am far, faaar away from the 1,000 point club  I don't think I'd like paying the maintenance fees on that many points let alone the original purchase price. Yikes.

Hubby and I are off soon to pick up our dd tonight :yay: And it has been nice having today off work to just putter around the house :) I finally managed to declutter my dining room table. It's so hard to keep the dang thing cleared off!

pumba - I loved the pampered chef email! very nice! :lmao:

well, for some reason breadman doesn't have the kids this weekend. the evil ex likes to change things without telling him.
so they're not coming over.

I'm SURE we're not dating.
his facebook status still says single.
the jerk.

Hi Moovers! It's Friday at last! Woohoo! After a hideous day at work, I was in desperate need of a weekend!

I caught a GIANT error made by CBM today (several thousand dollars worth of orders that he never put in the queue to be processed. A total of 35 customers who placed orders almost 2 weeks ago which were never even looked at. My catch of that error led to my coworker catching 2 additional days of orders like that....a total of about 125 customers whose orders were going unnoticed and unprocessed. There was much finger pointing and yelling by CBM, and just general bad vibes all day long. It ended okay for me when CBM came to thank me for catching the error, but he's still trying to pin the error on my coworker. Gah!

so breadman's bringing the kids over.
I feel so dumb sometimes, but I enjoy having all of them around. oh well.

*sigh* I feel your pain on that one, Cel! My brother is up in the air about who he'll be bringing to Thanksgiving dinner. His ex-girlfriend (who we all LOVE!) keeps sending me Facebook messages about my Thanksgiving menu, and how she's looking forward to the sweet potatoes, and some of the other stuff. I would so LOVE to have her (more than I really want my brother there, to be honest). But my bro is probably going to bring New Girlfriend and her horribly behaved 9 y.o. son, who shrieks like he's being skinned alive every time he sees Mojo. This kid is also a manipulative little whiner and a sneak. Not the kind of child I want my kids around (or my niece and nephews, for that matter!) I guess it'd be pretty bad to disinvite my brother and invite his ex-GF, huh? :rolleyes1

In other news, Natasha's Brownie troop had their meeting today. We had a guest speaker (one of the other Brownie moms) who talked to the girls about American Sign Language. After her presentation, the girls were working on a craft and that mom came up to me and asked if I'd be interested in hosting an....uh, adult toy party at my house. She gave me a brief description of the sort of products offered, and gave me a little bit of her spiel. :scared: I was pretty taken aback! 1) It was a BROWNIE MEETING! 2) We meet in a church! 3) I barely know this woman! I like to think of myself as a pretty forward-thinking kinda gal, but do I really need to fend off this sort of soliciation as my daughter does crafts in a church hall? I. Mean. Really.

Am I being a hypersensitive repressed Catholic, or would you ladies have been shocked too?

Almost forgot.....Twink, happy birthing day to you, and happy 2nd b-day to Grasshopper! I cannot believe he is TWO! Good gravy!

big L - I have no problem buying accessories - I frequent adult stores even though I get nervous -
but I WILL NEVER GO TO ONE OF THOSE PARTIES!
There's just something unseemly about it.
I don't want to sit around with a bunch of people I barely know and giggle about toys!

in other news, 13 going on 30 is on.
Jennifer Garner is just too cute for words.
I was watching mean girls - which I also love - but I get depressed cuz I want poor lindsay to be the character she plays and not the poor little lost girl she is.

I probably would of fallen flat on my face or turned beet red.......I am one of those repressed catholics too......I mean I am going to hades if I say the wrong thing or think the wrong thought.......now if we were a bunch of ding a ling woman having a girls night out......I would of probably turned beet red and then laughed with the others.......I have been invited to a few.....but ......hubby and I had a few other plans going on......

Hey! Don't just cackle and run! Answer the question!

I cannot imagine myself attending (or hosting!) a party at which such things would be discussed and (EEK!) passed around. :faint: But the point of my post was really more that I can't believe she'd bring up the subject to me when I barely know her, and at a Brownie meeting inside a church.

Thank you, Pumba! Guess those 12 years of Catholic school left me with something more than an intense dislike of plaid skirts.

BTW, I saw your post on the French meat stuffing thread. We make the same stuffing on Turkey Day. LOVE it!

Dang, Cel, sounds like he is using you as a babysitter  Not like you have not already figured that out ..

I am thinking of ordering the cookie sheet from you, but I want to hear how your cookies turn out (like it will non-biased, or something, LOL). But secondly, I called DD tonight to see if she still likes to bake. She said yes, why? I told her I was thinking of getting her something for Xmas. She said, remember, I live in a fully cooked kitchen and have no room, for example, her George Foreman grill she was given last year (that she was all excited about) still lives in her trunk. But I figure the should be room for a cookie sheet, right???? I will let you know for sure later.

It turns out DH DID order new stove and dishwasher and hood with a microwave. He claims he cant read the digital readout on the stove, only thalf of the last 2 digits show up (umm, you know it starts with 350, count up or down by 5 degrees each time you push the button, DUH!!), and the dishwasher doesn't clean well anymore and the hood is 30 years old.... So anyway, new appliances are coming tomorrow, along with the new futon for the guest room. At least DH got the appliances in Bisque, to match the fridge. The microwave was free with the hood. I'm sure it will be tiny, but maybe I can use it along with my regular one to heat foods for Xmas Eve dinner with the crowd.

Moo, have fun with Mari!!

Twinkie, Grasshopper is 2??????? He was just born a few months ago!!!
Happy birthday to him!

Pumba, I would choose a nice warm house over going out in the cold and rain anytime, old or not. Hah, I'm only a couple of years behind you, I would have said the same thing at 40 (maybe not at 20 though)

LilG, hope you nurse friend has fun in Germany!

BigL, enjoy your weekend!

I am off to tackle the kitchen floor, ugghhh!

Everyone,

ETA: Geez, I leave for a few minutes to clean and then type a post, and a frenzy has been happening!
I think bringing up that subject at a Brownie meeting in a church is probably not the best idea, but I guess you have to find oppprtunities where you can, LOL!

Hey! Don't just cackle and run! Answer the question!

I am only unsure about which part is funnier/more disturbing....
the fact that you were at a Brownie meeting
or
that you were at church.

I am sure I would have been absolutely speechless.

Hmm, I am thinking, doesn't the bible say to be fruitful and multiply? So a lttle stimulation towards that end would not be against the spirit of the church, right?

Not against the spirit, against the location. Obviously I am pro-fruitful-and-multiply, :thumbsup2 however I don't think the being fruitful and mulitplying should actually be done AT CHURCH.;)

I don't think the multiplying was actually happening at the church, LOL.
but that makes me wonder how often that has actually happened around the world

At any rate, I don't disagree with it not being an appropriate location for peddling things.

I have sprayed various doorjams with scrubbing bubbles and am telling myself they need plenty of time to work their magic before I have to clean them off :rolleyes1

Yes, somehow I doubt that the Methodist minister who so kindly donates the space for our meetings would look kindly on that sort of product/idea being hawked in his fellowship hall.

Twink, to answer your earlier question, there were no catalogs, thankfully. If there had been, I'm sure I'd be darn near catatonic right about now. Like you, I'm all for be-fruitful-and-multiply. I just don't think we need to create any equations that begin with houses of worship.

In other Brownie news, Natasha's nemesis, Miranda, joined our troop today. She and all 6 of the other girls who know Miranda from school predicted nothing but misery from this girl. As we drove to the meeting earlier today, I talked to Natasha about being willing to welcome new people into the group and helping this girl be a good friend to everyone. After witnessing Miranda in action at the meeting, I now know why tigers sometimes eat their young. She is a true test of the Christian spirit, I tell you what.

When I tried to engage her in conversation as we had our snack, she told me, "I'm miserable here at this stupid meeting. I only joined so I can eat free cookies, and I don't like any of these girls, or any of you leaders. I just really want to leave."

Lord, help me...........

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS! Sorry to laugh at your misery and Natasha's, but :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Scrubbing floors and wall, dusting and doing dishes after midnight ought to be against the law!

Lynt, sounds like you had quite an eventful night at the Brownie meeting

I will probably will jinx this tread...

But, it is now 2:30 the next day, does that count?

New appliances are installed, futon has been delivered and set up. :cool1:

I am going to clean dishes that were stored in the old oven, lids and stuff, and run them through the new dishwasher and do some general semi-deep clean around the house. I should think of something to cook in the new oven or new microwave (maybe that's too ambitious). My new range has a heating platter, and 2 adjustable platters, which is cool.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to clean I go.... :rolleyes1

I need to clean too. I have to get ready for christmas decorating.
I think I'm going to buy a new microwave this weekend. Mine is so old - it's one that my brother has used for years and years. If you cook anything for more than 4 and a half minutes, it shuts off and takes 5 minutes to reset.
very special.

I still haven't baked cookies yet. Since the kids didn't come over, there didn't seem to be much of a point. we'll see.
