marita - yay for seeing!

peej - boo for handsewing! celmama has like 30 sewing machines. I bet you and I could sneak one out of her house and she'd never know! :tiptoe:
let's see if she decides to read today. :lmao:

If you decide to buy one, do not get suckered into the disney sewing machine. I've never successfully done any disney machine embroidering. I dunno why I can't get it to work. :confused3

Instead I get the dis boutiquers to embroider stuff for me.
and I ooooh and ahhh over heather sue's stuff on facebook.

In the spirit of peej,
Attention!
Please PM me your address. I know I've had most of them at one time or another, but I've misplaced them.
I would like to send everyone cards. I'm making 50 this year.
Yes, 50.
Yet one more project to keep me occupied and not drinking!

I promise to address them normally and not try to be funny so people think it's not for them and try to give them back to the mailman.
(But seriously - does twink really think there's another Nellie Olsen on the prairie? And who wouldn't see dialysis on the envelope and think of me? :confused3)

To CLARIFY and to protect my goog name, of course there are other Nellie Olsen's on the prairie. Duh. Everyone around these parts has German or Scandiwhovian last names. The real confusion is that one of my neighbors does a lot of fundraising for a local dialysis/kidney/i dunno charity. She sends me letters asking for $ all the time..... so I thought it was another one of her letters that was intended for another neighbor.
Also the extra stamps and curlyque handwriting is always a sign of crazy stalkers...at least that is what the secret service told me. ;)

Marita- glad things are going well~!

Peej- you are so talented. Your costumes always turn out so nice. Maybe I need to take Introductory Peejifying. Beribboned skirts are always in style on the prairie.

Lynt- Nice try however you should have booked a trip to WDW this summer for his birthday. Then when he starts to balk you get misty eyed and quivery lipped at the mere thought he didn't *love* the fine gift you picked out just for him. ;)

I have a child home sick -probably with the flu of some variety. It is also a cold, dark, formerly snowy now drizzley day.

remember to wear sunglasses when you go out.....Our lens is not there to protect us like the old days....and did you get a protector at night time.....so you wont rub it.....I remember the gritty feeling for a few days too.....Just be careful and behave and do your drops when you are supposed to.
I am thrilled that you are one eye closer to being free of cataracts........have a good day

Pumba, yes, I got the eye protector, and I am religious about taking my eye drops. Grittiness is all gone now, I'm feeling great!

Went for my follow-up with the Dr. this morning (I got at up 6:15, can you believe it?????????? All is fine. I asked him about not being able to read with my "new" eye, and he said I would likely need reading glasses later (why do they ask me to fill out a survery about what vision I want if they don't read it? :confused3 ) I asked about option of having the next eye a reading eye, and he said they can do that, but some people like it and some don't. DH had it done with Lasic and said it sometimes is annoying, but usually fine. I'll think about that. The thought of toting reading glasses around every time I go to the boss' office or get stopped to look at something, get up from the computer and have to put them down, etc etc, and not having reading glasses is really annoying to me (went through this before). But I'll see how I feel in a couple of weeks when I go back again. In general, I am very happy

Cel, pm on the way. YAY for activities to keep you on the straight and narrow...
LOL about Celmama's sewing machine, I guess we'll find out if she is reading or not :rolleyes1

Not even 10am here yet, my appt is out of the way, and I have the day off, woohoo!! Some housecleaning and shopping for stuff for the house is on the agenda today. We need stuff to organize DD's room, some sheets, and misc stuff. So I will take my new eye for a test drive today

Marita -- Glad to here you feeling good today. Just think how great it will be with two good eyes!

Twinkie-- Sorry to here you home with a sick child. Hopefully you won't get it too. I still have this stubborn cough....

P.J. -- You are pretty talented with out a sewing machine. Hope Santa is good to you this year and gets you one. Hubby keeps telling me I need one but I really don't. :lmao:

Celery-- I will PM you but remember I maybe extra postage ......I don't even know how much it is to send to the U.S it is these days and vice versa.

I send the afternoon cleaning out my bedroom closet. I wanted to see exactly what I had bought already for Christmas and know I bought Hannah a Jonas Brothers purse and couldn't find it. Well I found that and a birthday present for Nicholas that I forgot about for last years birthday and a bag of Easter candy ....Reese Peanut Butter eggs, chocolate eggs.....:lmao:

So I drove to Walmart this afternoon to get home supplies. You know the overhead signs, that point out what's where? Home, Garden, etc? I could never read those (in recent years anyway). Today I walked in and looked up, and I actually said, OUT LOUD, but in a low tone,

"I CAN SEE, I CAN SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Yay marita!

PS - You didn't send me your address!

I'll be compiling a list if any of the moovers would like it shared amongst us.

I'm the only stalker allowed, freaks!

:lmao:

Peej: Oh, yeah...I'll tell DH that you'll be at WDW this summer. I'm sure that'll be the deciding factor?

What is the intended purpose of this skirt? Is it a special occasion sort of thing, or are you just gallivanting around LooUhVull in beribboned garments? popcorn::
I KNEW it!!

The latter. Everything looks better with ribbons. Duh.

Why would anyone need more than one sewing machine? I'll be sure to stalk my way to your part of the country and steal one. That wouldn't be shady at all. Also, I'm glad to see you're following in my spirit. Before you know it you'll have 27 little people following you around every day singing kumbafrigginya.

Peej- you are so talented. Your costumes always turn out so nice. Maybe I need to take Introductory Peejifying. Beribboned skirts are always in style on the prairie.

Thank you ma'am.

SNOW?! You got snow???!!!! Jealoussssss!!!!! I love snow. Sorry, Pumba. It rained here all day. Instead of recess we practiced walking up and down the stairs and around the building with our hands behind our backs and our voices on silent. It was fun, let me tell ya. We needed a reminder though.
Hope the jr. twinkie gets better asap and doesn't spread it to the rest of the twinkies.

P.J. -- You are pretty talented with out a sewing machine. Hope Santa is good to you this year and gets you one. Hubby keeps telling me I need one but I really don't. :lmao:
Thanks, Nab. Do you do any sewing? It's not that I can sew well, I just sew and it looks all sloppy but oh well. It keeps my mind busy.

You were at wal mart, anything goes.

I have an observation from the principal, a meeting I have to lead during the day, and then 2 meetings for special ed kids after school tomorrow. I believe I am already not looking forward to it.

OH Marita that is the same thing I said in Walmart...omg I could see the signs and figure out where I wanted to be.....it is the greatest thing around..
Gotta tell you a funny that happened after my first surgery.
I could see good out of one eye and I had to wear my glasses minus the lens in the eye that was fixed side.....so I wore those big honking black sunglasses over my regular glasses and we went to the store....I said to hubby...I am going to take these FRUGLY sun blockers off and I will shut my eyes and you lead me into the store.....then no one will know the difference.....so we go into the store and I open my eyes and I see someone I know......and she said....oh you had your eye operated on didnt ya.......and I looked puzzled and said yah .....how did you tell.....well I was wearing my glasses minus the one lens but it was my pair of glasses that had photo grey lens ....you know sunglasses when it is bright and then it goes to regular when it is darker.......but coming in from outside the lens had not gone back to normal.....so I had one eye with nothing in it and one eye that had the sunglasses still in it ...GOOF BALL..
Second surgery the anesthesiologist hit a blood vessel when he was putting in my block around the eye and I was black and blue for a week ....looked like brian hit me.....there was no hiding that eye........I was really pretty.
Glad that not one of the procedures hurt at all.....it was a piece of cake.
hugs to you all..

My daughter came home from her work, she is a special ed teacher, and she had a fever and sore throat and cant talk to loud......wonder if she is snorting yet? She went to school yesterday because she had an IEP and those have to be done .....so today she came home half way thru the day......

MOOVERS! Hiya! I had a pretty darn goog day today. Got oodles of things accomplished today at work and at home, so I'm in a good mood. And it really has nothing to do with the ice cream cupcakes I bought from Coldstone Creamery on my way home from work. Honest! :rolleyes1

The kids liked them so much that I decided to make my own next week and incorporate them into the Thanksgiving dessert selection this year. (Yes, Peej, after the shrimp and lasagna. :snooty:)

Lynt- Nice try however you should have booked a trip to WDW this summer for his birthday. Then when he starts to balk you get misty eyed and quivery lipped at the mere thought he didn't *love* the fine gift you picked out just for him. ;)

Darn! I KNEW I should've talked to you before I decided on Big Daddy's gift! PUH-LEEZE tell me you can fit me in for a consult prior to Christmas?

Speaking of the holidays, I would be interested in that address list, Cel. I have a few addresses already, but there are lots of others I'd like to send Christmas cards.

Pumba, I hope your DD feels better quickly. Lots of people in my town are being hit pretty hard by the flu. One school bus (the other side of town, thankfully!) is supposed to have 67 kids each morning, but has had a maximum of 30 for the past 5 school days!

Peej, maybe you and Natasha could put your fashion sense together and start a design label? She is always adding ribbons and scarves and such to her outfits. Her latest interest is clothing with peace symbols. She wants them on everything. Oy.

big l - you should buy her a "Visualize whirled Peas" shirt. that always makes me laugh!

speaking of shirts - at kroger the other day in Peej town there was someone with the F WORD ON THEIR SHIRT!
argh!
it was a woman too.

I can't even remember what it was for - but it was big and annoying!

this was at the nice kroger near Florence.
I refuse to go to the scary one in Covington anymore cuz there are crack heads everywhere.

I'm not down with ghetto etiquette.

Yesterday I was leaving the clinic and a ute (a youth from my cousin vinny ha!) had the droopy pants thing going on - which is something I'm used to - we have those in Nashville too. ha.
but he was holding a portion of his pants in an awkward manner.
and it wasn't for playing pocket pool.
I really think he had a gun, but maybe I'm just being paranoid.

what do you think, peej? he was crossing reading near the interstate.

at any rate, it makes me want to run far from here.

Cel...it must be one of those things that happen everywhere....the ones with the pants half way down the crack of the world......and they hold onto the thingie up front to make sure that they dont show off that part I guess..I have said to hubby....maybe he is afraid he is going to lose "IT"......hahaha.
I would love to pick up that guys pants in the back and give him a wedgie....then I would probably get attacked....
cel....when you give parties remember to tell all these potentials that the guarantee on these products is amazing and to keep their receipts in a special area.....like I do.....in one of my cook books......some of the products are a lifetime .....gotta love good stuff....

Marita.....hope today is a good day for you and your eyes ...

and everyone else.......have a great peaceful, healthy day

Cel, if you were local I would toadily book a party. I keep meaning to get over to the PC website to poke around. Who couldn't use some gadgety things with all the entertaining to be done during the coming weeks!

I have seen that "Visualize Whirled Peas" tee around. In fact, I think that CBM used to offer that to the wholesale customers.

I have begun to put up some stuff for auction on overpriced online auction site. So far, so good. Everything I've posted already has bidders. Yay! I've decided to put some of the kids' dress clothes from last year up for auction too. They wear these items once or twice and then I either put them in the attic or pass them on to my BFF for her kids. Recently though, I have ended up holding on to clothes forEVAH because we go so long in between visits. If I'm not going to pass them on, I might as well make a few bucks on 'em, no?
Christmas money, I say!

Definitely a good idea.
How much do places like once upon a child pay?

Our Once Upon a Child doesn't pay much. Plus I find there stores are packed with lots of clothes. Some only want brand name clothes only because they have so much of the other stuff.

Marita-- So glad you can see better now and won't get lost at Walmart.

I am having an off day. Nicholas called home from school because he didn't hand in an assignment and I was suppose to sign a paper...this is the third time this year.:sad2:

Then Hannah had swimming right after school, we always are running in just in time to get into the pool because it is a 15-20 minute drive there. We got half way there and noticed we ddin't have Hannah's bathing suit. Can't go swimming with out it. I would have said forget it but it was testing night. Hannah was good and changed into her bathing suit on the way there. :lmao: Poor thing run into the building just her bathing suit, shoes and her coat. And it was darn cold today.

Now I have to go back out to the church tonight for meeting for Nicholas Confirmation in the spring. I just want to stay in.....

Not a heck of a lot, unfortunately. I find better success with grouping stuff into lots and auctioning it. As long as I set up the auctions so that the buyer pays for shipping, it works out better on ebay.

For instance, I have 3 pairs of dress shoes and some holiday dresses that no longer fit Natasha, so those are going to be sold as a lot. I also have some dresses with the price tags still on them that are also going to be auctioned, since they won't fit her now.

ETA: NAB, exactly! Both kids (especially Natasha) have outfits and shoes they've only worn once or twice. I would never pass down or sell shoes or sneakers that the kids have worn frequently, but special occasion stuff is practically new when they're done with it, so why not?

okey Cel.......here is a hint my daughter used.........she bought some items with her discount and gave it to the people who got a show and had a minimum amount of orders.......get creative.....YOU make some good dishes......or have it in your house instead of the person who may not want to have it in theirs........have a raffle at the end of a month for something spectacular......like a stone or something else that you can get a discount on...
I love my stuff can you tell....hahaha.
AND Cel I sent you a Private message about a joke on pampered chef.....it is a wee bit risque but made me laugh and choke on my pistachios.....

... I am moving on to the Big House with the monorail running through it!

WHAT?!?!?!?!? Is this a promotion, Marita? Wahoo! Now you'll be away from BB, right? What other details can you tell us? Congratulations!

WHAT?!?!?!?!? Is this a promotion, Marita? Wahoo! Now you'll be away from BB, right? What other details can you tell us? Congratulations!

Not a promotion, lateral transfer. Yes, away for BB. I love BB, just not that job I have now. It will be kind of awkward at the new job, though. They have lots of work to do there apparently, so they are putting me there as a Sr Analyst along with another Sr. Analyst, and no assistants. We both report to the manager. So that will be interesting ... Have to see how that works out.

They moved lots of people today, I was just one part of it. But I am excited. I have worked for this boss before, Asst. #2 is in the same region under the boss, lots of hugs and welcomes from the team after the annoucements (at the end of a 3 hour meeting with the director).

Transition begins week after Thanksgiving. I already started cleaning up my office, LOL.
