Going for it at your own 34 down 3-0 in the 2nd quarter should get a coach fired. I don't care what the analytics say. There is such a thing as game situation and you flat out don't go for it there. It wasn’t so much going for it… it was running that stupid play. If you want to show you can overpower an opponent, you run the ball right at them.

Except as a 9 seed, they defeated the 8 seed by 10. They were supposed to lose to the #1.

I guess Texas Tech's blow out loss to the lower rated team shows they didn't belong.

Teams that got byes in the current playoff system are now 0-6. Two more to play this year.

Interesting fate… OU was the first home team to lose a first-round game, to Bama.

Bama was the first team to lose a quarterfinal game to a team that had a first round bye, IU.

Two years of playoffs this way and bye teams are 1-7

Seeing how Miami handled OSU, maybe the ACC Conf champ (aka, 2 from the ACC) belonged instead, like would be the case in March Madness. Gonna be funny if the ACC, almost left out b/c it doesn't have the sexy media deal or the endless gobs of player cash, ends up winning.

This is an argument to take the playoffs to 16 teams. No one gets a bye.

I'm not following. Alabama SHOULD have lost yesterday (#9 vs #1), and it shouldn't have been close. That game is not proof the experts were wrong or that Alabama shouldn't have made the field.

If the experts were right, we would have seeds 1-4 still alive.

Somebody done pissed the football gods off. Ohio State, Alabama and Georgia all lost within 24 hours. That'd be akin to Duke, N. Carolina, Kentucky and Kansas all losing in the Sweet 16. So crazy. What I don't understand, and there may not be an explanation, but teams that got byes are now 1-7 in the second round of the playoffs. That's just crazy to me.
