Moo and Nab,

I'm not so much nervouse about the actual operation as other things, like will my BP be too high so they won't operate? Will I be able to see? Maybe I need to take more days off?? Plus I can't have anything to drink (or eat, but I don't care about that), not even water in the morning. 5+ hours without anything to drink is going to kill me for sure..

Oh, surgery is at 8:15. That's when I have to be there anyway, then I have to pay for some stuff, then a couple of hours of prep-time, then surgery (15 mins or so I read), then recovery for a while. I just can't concentrate on anything today.

I remember the procedure of the operation ......I went early and I think I was the first or second person to be done that day.......because of diabetes they monitored my sugar too......they put an IV drip up and then drops every ten or fifteen minutes......two or three different types.....and that was what took the longest....I listened to the others there and had a conversation with the nurses. ALL will be okey Marita......just close your eyes and think of all of us ladies and gents here waiting to hear how it goes.....I actually got on the computer a little that evening....maybe five minutes or so......but no lifting and you have to behave.......I went to the doctors office the next morning to see how the eye was......and we had to wear those UGLY big sun glasses to keep the glare and sun out...

hugs to you Marita ......all will be okey.....honest...

Good evening, y'all! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.

Marita, I'm sure your surgery day will go smoothly! Don't psyche yourself into blood pressure problems! And look how many people you have praying for you. Things will be FINE!

Cel, do we get to see pics of this cake? I assume you took pics before you delivered it. One of my other imaginary friends has built up quite a business for herself making cakes for people. She created a photo album on Facebook and gives prospective customers the link to the album so they can see examples of her work. Free marketing!

NAB, I know what you mean about cleaning stuff out. I always do that sort of thing when no one else is home, otherwise I'd end up with everything back in its origina place.

The kids and I had a lovely pajama day yesterday, and today the four of us went to Mass and then out for breakfast. Then I took my mom grocery shopping. Apparently, everyone else in my town decided to be at the grocery store at the same time. Feh!

In other news, Natasha was selected for Student Council on Friday. She's so happy I thought she'd burst! Selection was based on grades and a letter of interest written to the Assistant Principal. Her BFF was also chosen, so they're twice as happy.

I am watching this week'sDVR'd episode of Glee, and giggling aloud. Does anyone else watch? I keep meaning to download some music from the show onto iTunes. I LOVE this show!

I forgot to take pictures of the cake! I sent the mom a text message and asked her to take some.
it's a soccer ball for a 4 year old's birthday
I'm already using facebook for marketing. :)
I sent everyone on facebook (besides coworkers who got a flyer and you guys who got a post) an announcement that I am now an independent consultant for pampered chef.
we'll see if anything pans out.

breadman's mom's birthday is on thanksgiving. she requested a cake on facebook - I told her we have to convince Bill to bring me to her house first!
she said I'm welcome whether or not he comes, but I don't think I'll be going to Memphis on thanksgiving without him.

marita - don't stress about the surgery!

nab - I thought you meant nicholas gave you the bag with the light - I had to read it a few times to get that your dh only wants to throw that out! :lmao:
Tell him all the junk can go in his part of the closet if he doesn't start weeding stuff out!

Goog luck tomorrow, Marita!

Sending hugs and prayers :grouphug:

L - Sounds like you had a lovely weekend :thumbsup2 I keep meaning to watch Glee on-line.

w00t for Natasha!!! :goodvibes

Marita -- Thnking of you this morning.

Lynette-- I watch Glee every week. I think it is pretty funny too and love the singing.

Just came back from dropping the kids and the big tuba off at school.Nicholas just kept practicing notes all weekend. He said he would play me the alphabet but it sure didn't sound like it, but of course I said oh that was really good. :lmao:

Today I am waiting on the fireplace mantle guy. We have the bottom part in now he is working on the top part that we were going to drywall across but decided to do the top in the same wood. I will post a picture when it is done.

Popping in to say that I am thinking of you Marita! Hope it all went well!

Thanks for all the well-wishes, everyone

Everything went fine this morning, I really didnt feel a thing. My eye was fine at first, but it's feeling a bit gritty and blurry now, but to be expected from what i read.
Stopped off with DH on the way home at McD's for some breakfast and coffee. While there, I was looking at some flowers outside. With my left (unoperated, formerly much better eye), they looked orange. With my operated eye, they looked red, LOL. Of course some of that could be due my eye still being heavily dialated, so everything looks brighter.
Anyway, I am very pleased with how things went so far. :woohoo:

Marita- glad to hear all went well. Now relax and get better soon!

I'm so happy everything went smoothly Marita. Get all better soon!!

Marita-- glad everything went well. Don't try to do to much now....

Marita - I'm so happy things went well today!!! :dance3: Is the dilation gone yet?

Do you get to be off work for a while? That would be the icing on the cake.

So glad everything went well today, Marita. I bet you feel so relieved.

I just got back from ballet class.

A first grader told me today that she's changing her birthday to January 1. Her real birthday is March something. I told her you can't just change your birthday and she said "sure you can, my mama said so!" I asked her why she felt the need to change it and she said there's no way she can possibly wait till March. :rotfl: I told her if she has it January 1 she won't get to celebrate at school and she said she was going to think on that and get back to me. :lmao: She took the whole matter very seriously.

I will now be sewing. Someone should get me a sewing machine for Christmas. That would have made the Jessie costume 350 times easier to make.

Peej, did you make that Jessie outfit by hand??! Or just use someone else's sewing machine? It was so cute :)

Marita, so glad that everything went smoothly for you today. Now get all better soon!

Peej, whatcha sewing? Oh, I know...you must be making my Christmas present, right? RIGHT? FYI, olive green complements my eyes, and I wear a size 6. Thank you in advance.

Today is Big Daddy's birthday. After Natasha's guitar lesson, we had cake and gave him his presents. I told him that he's been so good this year that I'm going to let him take us all to WDW next summer. Not sure he's going to go for that though. :confused3

Thanks so much, everybody :grouphug:

Pumba
, thanks espedially for your encouraging words last night, they helped a lot!

Moo, yes, dilation is gone and I can see great out of my new eye, LOL
Everything is brighter, especially white, and I can even see the faces on the tv without blur ... But, I looked outside, and it seems I still see halos around lights, so we shall see how the night driving might go.

However, I did discover that I can't read at all if I cover my left eye, so I am sure I will rneed eading glasses once they do the left eye. Not unexpected though, I can live with it. Or maybe they can give me a different lens? I'll have to ask tomorrow when I go for follow-up.
I have tomorrow off too, :woohoo:

Peej, you know you have to write a letter to Santa for the sewing machine, right? :santa:

Lynt, I think a WDW trip is a lovely trip for DH :cool2:

Cel, good luck with your sales efforts!

Moo...I made the Jessie costume by hand.

L...I'm peej-ifying a skirt. It needed ribbons. Because everything looks better with ribbons.
Happy birthday to your DH! Tell him I will most likely be in WDW again this summer. I mean, that's enough to convince anyone.

Marita...I think I need another copy of Santa's address so I can get that letter going. :santa:
Enjoy your day off tomorrow!

Peej: Oh, yeah...I'll tell DH that you'll be at WDW this summer. I'm sure that'll be the deciding factor?

What is the intended purpose of this skirt? Is it a special occasion sort of thing, or are you just gallivanting around LooUhVull in beribboned garments? popcorn::

remember to wear sunglasses when you go out.....Our lens is not there to protect us like the old days....and did you get a protector at night time.....so you wont rub it.....I remember the gritty feeling for a few days too.....Just be careful and behave and do your drops when you are supposed to.
I am thrilled that you are one eye closer to being free of cataracts........have a good day
