coffee may have the power to stop MS - 6 - 8 cups per day, and they didnt get the disease!! Track caffeine in current MS patients is the next step in this research

Watermelon may help your sex drive - trigger healthy reactions, it stimulates amino acids, helps heart, type 2 diabetes, and mimics something like viagra!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I was watching the News at Noon on WGN tv - and the medical report came on - so I had to type it - but the newscaster that was reporting on the Watermelon helping the sex drive - :rotfl2 He had a huge pause, and the other (female) newscasters "why the pause"? LOL

<must get more watermelon>

Goog Evening, All! :wave2:

Thanks for the feel better wishes . . . I am doing much better today. Went to work and had an all day meeting, but it was pretty low key.

Moo....Glad you're OK. Usually I love having my house really clean but not if I have to hurt myself to do it. Get a cleaning lady! Once every two weeks should be enough? You and Mr. Moo can't make that much of a mess.
LOL, I can make some pretty big messes. I am worse than Mr. Moo about making messes in our living room/dining room. Usually due to piling things here and there instead of putting them away and recently due to having my scrapbooking stuff out. It took me over an hour to clear off the dining room table :rolleyes1 And I didn't even scratch the surface on our laundry room. I'm trying to clear out some old clothes and other unnecessary crap for a Goodwill donation. It will probably take me a week to clean my bedroom.

Ok we are down to hours here. I guesstimate I have 28 hrs until we leave. I made major progress yesterday but there is still so much to do. Thank goodness the baby needs me to sit down and feed him every few hours or I wouldn't be able to keep up or get bestomped at scrabble. ;)

Hi Moo- thanks for checking in. I hope you feel better. I hear you on the deep cleaning. The DH will be returning to the prarie after the segment of the trip with his parents. Then he will rejoin me to drive back. I am not quite crazy enough to attempt an 20 hr drive with 5 kids by myself. I would and have flown with the kids by myself but that is different.
Sending wishes for a safe and FUN trip!!!!!!!! Yeah for having forced breaks! :lmao: I'm not doing much bestomping lately.

Glad your hubby will be spending a decent amount of time away from work and doing the driving :thumbsup2 I am usually grateful my hubby does most of the driving. I just have to listen to his music choices and *shudder*
Rush Limbaugh. Smallish price to pay, I guess!

Moo-- Hope you back feels better today. I hate cleaning....but someone has got to do it and I don't really have an excuse since I am home all day.
HAPPY CANADA DAY, NABBIE!!!!!!

I am SO ready to be home all day for a long weekend! I will only do some more cleaning if the mood strikes.

Peej - Thanks. I dare you to post that on the Resorts board. ;)

I am off to Walmart. It's Jeremiah's birthday and I haven't gotten him presents yet.
LOLing over that dare, Peej! :rotfl:

For the birthday boy:

I dont know what the deal is with me wanting chocolate lately. I just love it...and especially on Ice Cream

Wendy...my wife cant have much chocolate ...it gives her Migraine's so she eats the filled ones...I like the truffles.
I just didn't want to chance ticking off the DIS!

I get migraines occasionally when I eat chocolate, but typically only if it's in combination with cheese and/or nuts.

One more Mooooover checking in? Did y'all miss me? *crickets chirping*
YEP!!!
Goog luck to Julia! :cheer2:

Marita - Hope you had something yummy for dinner tonight  Don't work too hard!

L - Did you see that they're closing a bunch of Starbucks??!

Hiya, Wendy et al - I'll be over to catch up on our games a bit later tonight.

L - Did you see that they're closing a bunch of Starbucks??!

Hi Moo! Glad you're feeling better.

I sure DID see the story about Starbucks closing 600 stores nationwide! Ack! I think the one they just opened within walking distance of my house (at the beginning of June) is safe. My town is so full of cafes and coffee shops that some people jokingly refer to it as "Dunkinton". :rotfl:

As for the game which shall not be mentioned, I am not doing much bestomping lately either. But still, I keep playing! The tile gods will smile upon me yet!

MommyP - We share birthing days. :woohoo: My DD just went up into the double digits today. :sad1: I'm just sad cause she growin' up so fast. Well, because of all the 50th anniversary drama, I hadn't had time to plan birthday festivities for today. So, my last minute planning went something like this....

DS and I went to Hallmark last night and bought cards. He also got her a Webkin with his own money. :thumbsup2 We ordered a lovely cookie cake from the grocery. We picked up yummy frosted cookies to share with her friends at our summer MMO and a balloon.

She had said she really wanted us to go bowling as a family on her birthday. CHECK. :thumbsup2 Then DH came up with a brilliant plan. She was going to get to go on a shopping spree for her birthday. She also got to pick the dining establishment for dinner......SONIC. So while we were sitting at the nice new tables at Sonic, waiting for our food, we had the discussion about where she wanted to go shopping. Well, she couldn't make up her mind, so DH just handed her the cash, and said here spend it. Her eyes went... . She was so excited! Well there was a DS (Nintendo, not Dear anything;) ) game she wanted, but she didn't want to go to the store and get it. So we decided to split up. I took her clothes shopping, which she desperately needed, while DH and DS went to the local electronics store and picked up the game.

We all met back home, and DS wrapped her Webkin. I wrapped the game, and we had cake and opened presents. Overall, it has been a great day.

PJ - I will share details later. Going to have to go on another shopping trip tomorrow since DS and I are going rafting on Friday. I need some more appropriate attire since I'm going with the church youth group.

Oh, and I found out more details about the little boy killed at our airshow on Sunday. Turns out that my boss', the preschool director, brother gave the tickets to the family to go to the airshow. The little boy was a HUGE Blue Angels fan, even had his room decorated with planes and such. Well, he gave them the tickets because they have had a rough year. The wife was in a car wreck, earlier in the year, and had some serious injuries from that. The little boy hid behind the generator to get away from the rain. Well, there was a microburst and it just fell over on him. It weighed about 3,000 lbs. They had to get a crane to lift it off of him. Now my boss's brother is feeling lots of guilt. Please keep them all in your prayers. I'm not sure why, but the mother is unable to have any more children, and that was their only child. They are going to be hurting for a while. :sad2:

OK, I'm about wiped out working tonight!

Moo, glad you feel better!
I need a cleaning lady too. I'm thinking my stimulus check could pay for some months? Except a branch or something from the yard hit my kitchen window this weekend when hubby mowed the lawn and made a good 3 inch hole. Luckily i'ts 2 panes, and only the outer one was broken. Anyway, I need to chase down some cleaning lady, maybe Craig's list?
My mom called tonight freaking out about when Nicole is coming, she was waiting up toniht. She told hubby I said Tuesday. I swear I never said anything but July 2. But he got her calmed down, I guess.

So I went to the GF shindig today for the 20th anniversary. Had lunch with some of the opening members. The guy who is now COO of Disneyland Paris flew in, and a guy who was then assistant manager for Bell Services and now head of DVC Hawaii (in development) flew in from Hawaii. (why have I been sweating about running over budget for months????????)

And a bunch of other people.

After lunch, there was a panel discussion of some opening team leaders with a bunch of hourly cast members in the audience, I think most from opening 20 years ago.
The panel member were introduced by a Disney Ambassador and all received applause and waves. Then the current GM said there was one more member he wanted to introduce and read the history of the current Paris chief.

He came out and the crowd jump out of the seats and gave a 2 minute standing ovation. He was a manager of Resort Development at opening and later became Resident Manager and the GM for several years. Anyway, all this means nothing to you all.
Just to say, there has never been a more popular boss that I have know in all my nearly 36 years. People were lined up to hug him after the panel. When he left the GF, there was a procession of CM's bringing him gifts.
Lynette, CBM would die with shame!

WOW, I digressed, sorry! Had a little trip down memory lane there.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is this:

So several people couldnt make it today, but one sent a letter with a memory, and I do remember this (but had forgotten).

It was about 2 weeks before opening the hotel. The leadership team and a bunch of other people were gathered outside the entrance to film a video and then leave for a team building session. Things were still in construction mode, mud outside, construction stuff all over. So there we were and a family pulls up, saying they were checking in:scared1: Someone asked were are you going. They said they have a confirmation for the Floridian hotel.
OK, they ask for confirmation
The had a confirmation for the Floridian Hotel off International drive!
That was too funny, I had forgotten all about that.

ETA: Back then envious other hotels called the GF "the mistake by the lake" and the "Red Roof Inn"
Sorry, in nostalgia mood tonight

Hound, there are several brands of hot fudge available in most supermarkets. Smucker's is one. Mrs. Richardson's is another. They come in glass jars and can be microwaved....YUMMY!

One of the regular features of my summer cookouts is our make-your-own-sundae. Always a huge hit with kids (of all ages). This is how I discovered all the microwaveable hot fudge options available. ;)

Marita - The recipe is as follows: 2 sticks of butter, softened, mixed with 1 lbs of grated Parmesan cheese until creamy. Cook pasta, saving 1 cup of pasta water. Combine pasta and cheese/butter mixture and a little pasta water stir until creamy. Way to easy. lol

So sorry to hear about that little boy and his poor family  Tragic. I hate to say it, but it sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Tomorrow is the puppies' first birthday  I may be getting them some Frosty Paws doggie ice cream. LOL.

Marita - I enjoyed hearing about your trip down memory lane!!! Too funny about those people thinking they had a ressie confirmation for the GF! Red Roof Inn makes me think about our MIA friend, Poly :)

BH - I usually use the Hershey's syrup too. Yum!
