OK, I'm about wiped out working tonight!
Moo, glad you feel better!
I need a cleaning lady too. I'm thinking my stimulus check could pay for some months? Except a branch or something from the yard hit my kitchen window this weekend when hubby mowed the lawn and made a good 3 inch hole. Luckily i'ts 2 panes, and only the outer one was broken. Anyway, I need to chase down some cleaning lady, maybe Craig's list?
My mom called tonight freaking out about when Nicole is coming, she was waiting up toniht. She told hubby I said Tuesday. I swear I never said anything but July 2. But he got her calmed down, I guess.
So I went to the GF shindig today for the 20th anniversary. Had lunch with some of the opening members. The guy who is now COO of
Disneyland Paris flew in, and a guy who was then assistant manager for Bell Services and now head of DVC Hawaii (in development) flew in from Hawaii. (why have I been sweating about running over budget for months????????)
And a bunch of other people.
After lunch, there was a panel discussion of some opening team leaders with a bunch of hourly cast members in the audience, I think most from opening 20 years ago.
The panel member were introduced by a Disney Ambassador and all received applause and waves. Then the current GM said there was one more member he wanted to introduce and read the history of the current Paris chief.
He came out and the crowd jump out of the seats and gave a 2 minute standing ovation. He was a manager of Resort Development at opening and later became Resident Manager and the GM for several years. Anyway, all this means nothing to you all.
Just to say, there has never been a more popular boss that I have know in all my nearly 36 years. People were lined up to hug him after the panel. When he left the GF, there was a procession of CM's bringing him gifts.
Lynette, CBM would die with shame!
WOW, I digressed, sorry! Had a little trip down memory lane there.
Anyway, what I wanted to say is this:
So several people couldnt make it today, but one sent a letter with a memory, and I do remember this (but had forgotten).
It was about 2 weeks before opening the hotel. The leadership team and a bunch of other people were gathered outside the entrance to film a video and then leave for a team building session. Things were still in construction mode, mud outside, construction stuff all over. So there we were and a family pulls up, saying they were checking in

Someone asked were are you going. They said they have a confirmation for the Floridian hotel.
OK, they ask for confirmation
The had a confirmation for the Floridian Hotel off International drive!
That was too funny, I had forgotten all about that.
ETA: Back then envious other hotels called the GF "the mistake by the lake" and the "Red Roof Inn"
Sorry, in nostalgia mood tonight
