Marita -- Wish we all could win the lottery and life happily ever after. You really need to retire woman.

UMA-- That candy apples sounds so good. I love Children's Place, got Hannah a few skirts for .99 cents there once.

Wendy, yikes on the allergies! Is Host the new Stephenie Myers book? I saw that today in the paper as #1 on best sellers list. I am still in the middle of book 2 of the Twilight series :guilty: I read some pages, then go back a few days later and forgot what I read and have to start over again, duh!

Well I am heading to bed to read too I think. After I make lunches that is .

No holiday here. Hope your all get to sleep in tomorrow. :goodvibes

Easier said than done, Nabbie! I guess I should start buying lottery tickets

Well got motivated, painted with color the hallway, finally. Dh was able to put in the new light fixtures and some of the moldings and the new basement door. Looks sooooooo much better. I just have to finish painting the upstairs hallway and the walls going up the stairs. Those are killer to do, so high.

Had friends come over and we grilled. They are back in the tent again. Good luck

Wendy: Yes I am sporty. But not spicy. I played basketball and volleyball in school for 5 years. Varsity. I played softball forever, but not in school.

You know beer leagues.....once I was legal, or not.

I love my hometown sports teams. We got the Pistons, the Red Wings, and we thought we had a baseball team finally, but maybe not the Tigers.

DTD: Was that from the early 90's? I loved going to the Palace and watch Spectrovision when their play off games were away. We would fill the Palace even when the team wasn't even there.

Good times. I worked for a radio station back then and I got tickets to everything. Good times.

I'm into the Host like crazy too. I think I'm close to page 450.

Night all!

Marita hope your mom is ok. Now I'm gonna be worried.

Hello, Moovers.

Marita...big hugs and prayers being sent your way. Many hugs, even.   I can't even imagine dealing with all the stress you're dealing with!! I have no words of wisdom, just hugs and prayers are the best I can offer.

Lynette...how did the cookout go? Were all major disasters avoided?

Wendy...yuck on the allergies, but it sounds like you had a nice day? Sorry, was that too Pollyanna?

HI TO EVERYONE!!!

I went to the senior dinner theatre tonight. I kid you not. It was for ages 65 and up. They made an exception for me, though. My grandpa really wanted someone to go with and all his friends apparently have hoppin' social lives so he asked me to join him. It was the life and music of Patsy Cline. It was actually a really good show. Those seniors know how to have fun, lemme tell ya.

Night.
:grouphug:

Thanks Mony and PJ :grouphug:

PJ, I need your grandpa's address so I can join the club there sometime, LOL!

Anytime, Marita.

When I came home my sister was laughing at me for going to the senior dinner theatre and I started explaining to her that the show took place on the last surviving showboat in this country and how neat that is. yep, right there on the Ohio River, the Showboat Majestic. And it was a good show, I tell you!!! She just looked at me and said "Lord help us all." Whaaaat????

I'll PM ya his address. ;)

You all took my advice and slept in didn't you !!

Even Lexi....:scared1:

Well the weather seems to be shaping up for the day so I am out to run errands. Maybe someone will be awake by then.

It's noon already!

Where did they day go?

I think it's just gonna be a Marita kind of day. I just need to rest my bones so, it's a relaxing day.

Due to 2 boys who couldn't stop arguing and fighting I have a nice clean kitchen floor.:teeth:

I'd be willing to send your son a care package. I love doing stuff like that. From a cyber mom. What could he use? You can pm me if you want.

A Marita kind of day??? :smokin:

LOL on the clean floor. Good punishment, Mony, I love it!

Thanks for the offer of the care package. I mentioned it to DH yesterday, but for some reason I can't remember he was against it :confused3 I'll ask DS next time he call, though, I figure he could maybe use some snacks.

I am trying to work, but my head is not in the right place for it, so I guess I will just stick with taking today off.

Hey guys!

So sorry I went AWOL again.

Our at home internet is so slow and iffy again working that I can usually only get online at my Moms.

As for the rest of our trip. I can't remember where I left off...we went to the MK bright and early, via bus. The crowds all day were very low for a not value time. Going in the middle of the week is the best. The kids had a great time and did well. It was Ethan first mostly walking trip. When the baby was in the stroller he walked. Not one complaint! He got to go on Splash Mountain for the first time, he hated it. lol! I knew he would. Around 1 we took an hour nap break. While Chad took the big boys on Space Mountain I found a nice shaded bench in a mostly abandoned area. I forced Kaleb to sleep and made Ethan lay down with something covering his eyes. They both napped, only Isaac was awake. Then Chad came back with the boys and after I rode the ride Chad laid down and napped for about 25 minutes too. lol! We had such fun! It was a nice break away from the worrys of life.

My mom got me the best thing for my birthday. She put all my childhood pictures of myself and then myself with my siblings and then my own family together in an album. It was so much fun to look through!

Wendy - PM me a link to your house tour too!!

Twinkie - PM me a picture of that little boy!

Maybe I can get some pictures on here today.
I hope everyone is doing well.

Newsflash:

Just talked to my mom, and everything is OK. WHEW! She doesn't remember hearing the phone ring yesterday. How can you not hear the phone ring 30 times on 2 different occasions? Oh well, at least she is OK.

this recipe was on Chyrels site years ago ......I know someone made it up but heck if I can remember.....always like to give credit where credit is due....but anyways.
STicky Chicken..

2 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp onion pdr
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp pepper or less[I use less]
1/4 tsp garlic pdr
1/4 tsp black pepper[I leave out altogether too much pepper for me]
1 whole roasting chicken about 3 lbs
1 cup chopped onions

Combine all spices in a small bowl
Rinse chicken inside and out, drain well
Rub spice mixture over skin and the inside of the chicken
Place in a zip lock bag and chill overnight
When ready to bake stuff cavity with onions[don't leave this out they
just dissapear during cooking but leave a wonderful flavor]
Place chicken breast side down in pammed roasting pan
Bake uncovered 5 hours at 250o[not a typo]

This is the tenderest most delicious chicken ever and the drippings make
wonderful gravy.

I am so glad that you heard about your mama.........I just thought she didnt hear it .....YIPPEEEEEE

Oh, Marita, I'm so glad you heard from your mom, and that she is fine. (they moved the smilies again, maybe for Memorial Day ;) )

Well, I finished my race in 1:19:25. :yay: Hung around and watched some of my preschoolers do the one mile fun run with their parents.

When I got home, I crashed on the couch, only to wake up and hear my DD yell, Shadow, come back! :scared1: Shadow is my escape artist, and runs like the devil when she gets loose. Unfortunately, I didn't see where she went after she ran through the neighbors yard across the street. While, I'm looking for her DD is WAILING behind me, saying how she is the worst kid ever (well you know not to leave the door open :headache: ) in her most dramatic fashion. I'm sure parents in the neighborhood thought I was being mean by ignoring, her but I knew I needed to catch the dog before she got out on the main road. Anyway, DH got out in his vehicle and drove around the neighborhood, and after a couple of passes, he found her at the top of our street. WHEW!!!

I've had all the excitement I can handle, so I think I'm gonna go resume that nap. :cloud9: Getting up at 5:00 AM on a holiday is insane! ::yes::

Wendy: I want that link too!

Allie: What race did you run? How long was it? That really doesn't matter cause you got your butt up at 5 am to run for any length of time! Congrats!

Marita: what state is his training in? You can never have enough socks. I dated a guy while he was in the airforce. Actually, thinking about it now, I was his saving grace. He wanted his name called everyday so I wrote him everyday and sent him packages when he needed stuff. When he came home he ignored me and it drove me crazy.:dance3:

Monica - I ran a 10K which is 6.2 miles. Although my Garmin said I ran 6.3, but that can be due to me weaving in and out of folks. :confused3 The race wasn't until 7:00, but they said you needed to be at least an hour early in order to find parking. Found that fine, and then walked around for a while, and went to the bathroom, and then it was about time to run. Luckily a lot of the course is shaded because it is HOT down here in the South. Oh, and Marita's son is just South of me, so he's in AL. (hope you don't mind me fillin' her in Marita ;) )

psst........

Remember me?

How the heck are you (the collective you)?

And. What news?

Tell ALL.

xo, Sid

Hi Sid, long time no see! How are you doing?

Tell all? Hah! It's been a while. We had a couple or three new thread babies, some deaths, some graguations, some first communions, a son leaving for air force, and a bunch of other stuff I am sure.
Oh, job losses, job findings, a new house for MommyP, Utah trying to become a southern belle too.
Oh, and Nab got a fabulous new kitchen!

Now tell all about what's new with you.

Chili is not considered a BBQ Marita!!! Besides isn't it to hot for that now?

We are getting some really humid weather today. The wind is picking up and looking like rain too. So I won't chance bbq either.

Pumba -- that chicken sounds really good. But now whole chicken and no time to wait over night. I will just have to have plain old chicken breast, maybe with Shake and Bake on them.

I have been on a cleaning spree today. Even bring in fresh Lilacs from our tree.

Allie--:woohoo: on your race.

Syd-- How are you, it has been a long time!!

Where has Moo been all weekend? Hope she isn't still sick. Or chasing the puppy in the backyard.
