We flew Monarch Standard in 2008 from Newcastle. We got a cold cereal type breakfast and a hot meal later on. We had view of TV screens, but no choice of what to watch. There was enough leg room and we got a blanket/pillow on the return journey. We had paid to sit together so can't help there! The flight was fine, we upgraded to Thomson the following year and regretted the extra cost.:surfweb:

Flew with them last year. The plane had loads of free seats so we sat together anyway, can't remember if we paid to or not to be honest. No personal TV screen, just a few overhead and no choice of what to watch. You had to buy earphones too, which was hilarious, I just used my own. We had 2 meals (which weren't THAT bad actually). It wasn't exactly a great flight but we got it very cheap.

We flew that flight from gatwick last year. No issues at all. We sat in economy at the very rear of the aircraft. I'm 6'2 and seat pitch was ample. Two meals were ok. Really couldn't fault it. Sandford airport is refreshingly quiet too. Pick up of rental car was easy and drive to international drive was no trouble. Mind you, I don't think their prices are so competitive this year for the same deal.

We have flown with monarch and never again. delays are common the guy working in the airport told us, but ours was a two day delay on the way home. The plane had broken down, they sent out the short haul plane and it was very cramped. Although in fairness it was more upseting for the passangers who were delayed by two days on the way out. If you have any other options take them. Sanford airport is fine though, but if you are delayed there are no lounges as such well not at 4am.

we are flying with monarch as well never been on one so dont know what they are like we have not paid extra for seeting either so fingers crossed, i know where is a tv in the isles to watch apparently but think u have to pay for head sets and i think u get 2 meals 1 being a cereal and another lunch later on in the flight

I have not flown with them but my sister flew with them yesterday she usally uses virgin , gatwick to sanford and she arrived 1hr 20mins early  so she was very happy person last night

We've flown with Monarch twice and both flights were fine. I can't remember what the meals were like as I never eat inflight meals, but can't remember anyone in my family complaining about them. We had a huge TV screen in front of us in 2009 as we were in the middle aisle, quite near the front. Everyone else had TV's overhead. In 2009 we were near the back of the plane coming home and there were loads of empty seats. We had a row of 4 for 2 of us, so we could stretch out :)

We have flown with monarch twice now, just arrived back sat morn and both times absolutely fine, no probs and all on time, going back in august and booked with virgin but started to wish I booked monarch again as approx£1000 cheaper for the 3 of us (2 adult/1 teen), think it's too late to cancel now :confused3

We have flown Monarch and would never fly with them again - we had a 12 hr delay going out - engine had to be replaced and a 4 hour delay on return. Plane very tired looking - very poor communication from Monarch. When we checked in they handed us a letter explaining there was going to be delays. It was a photo copy of a fax and you know you can see at the top when fax was sent it was 7pm the night before! Straight after checking they bussed us to the hylton and laid on 'SOUP' - bear in mind this is 6am - no breakfast .
