Hey everyone. I haven't really been posting here since you all are so much further along than I am so I feel a little out of the loop but I do come over and read from time to time.

I felt that way at first too... but it goes so quickly! Feel free to tell us everything!

Hey everyone. I haven't really been posting here since you all are so much further along than I am so I feel a little out of the loop but I do come over and read from time to time.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm finally starting to embark on the 2nd trimester and my m/s is fading away. I still have a bit of post nasal drip but other that that things are well. I had an u/s on Tuesday and baby looks great with a hb of 166bpm. He/she is SO cute already! We got a picture where it looks like baby is sucking it's thumb. :goodvibes My next appt is June 29th. We're also going on a babymoon to WDW the first week of July so since my OB won't do an early gender scan we're gonna go to a private place the week before to get the gender scan done so we know the sex of the baby and can get gender specific things while at WDW. :thumbsup2 Can't wait!

Anyways, I guess when I get a bit further I'll check in more but like I said, you all are so much further ahead of me and this is my first baby I don't know a lot of the things you are talking about.

I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day!!

Don't be silly. We were all there not that long ago. Seriously! I feel like I was 12 weeks a minute and a half ago. :goodvibes Post away, tell us what you're feeling, how you're feeling, vent about your post-nasal drip... anything!

oh thanks so much ladies! For sure makes me feel better about posting here. I know I probably seem silly for being shy. I'll do my best to post more from now on and get to know you all better. I'm glad to be just about into the 2nd trimester! The m/s was making me crazy! I also hate how long they make you wait btwn appts in the beginning.

How are you all doing? Anything in particular you can tell me to look fwd to? LOL I know each stage of pregnancy has it's own "fun" things to look fwd to.

I totally know where you are coming from. I'm just embarking on 16 weeks so I'm not much in front of you and totally agree about feeling "behind" at times :rotfl: But don't let it stop you from asking questions or venting about anything.....it is a MUCH safer place than any of the babycenter boards.

Well ladies....I am finally getting to the point that I'm glad I bought a doppler. I had appts anywhere from 10 days to 2 weeks apart throughout my first 14 weeks and the doctor didn't find the heartbeat with doppler until the 14 week appt. (so you can bet I didn't at home) I finally found it at home the afternoon they found it at the doctor's office. Since then DD will ask if we can listen to it every few days and although there have been a few times we couldn't find it the majority of the time I can now. It's very reassuring....and I'm not near as stressed anymore that when we don't I don't wig out.

Haha the best part for me is when the little baby is in your arms. :goodvibes My body apparently doesn't like me being pregnant... so I'm not really a good person to ask. :rotfl: I do enjoy the shopping part, though. That's always fun. Registering is pretty cool-- I did it at Target, BRU and I made one online at Walmart. I don't think anyone is going to buy any of it, but it's nice to have a "wish list!"

I'm also a big fan of finding out the gender, I think it helps you bond with the baby. It's like a nice little treat mid-way through. :goodvibes It makes it seem so much more real.

Waiting between appointments is a pain in the rear. I really don't see why they can't take you at least every 3 weeks! :confused3

I felt behind at first, too!

I was *thisclose* to buying a doppler. I probably wouldn't have the few gray hairs I have if I did!

Leger- ITA about the other message boards. Some of them get *nasty*. This little thread we have going on is really really nice... it's a little 'safe zone.' If you have any questions at all, ASK!! :goodvibes

Ooooo 16 weeks huh? Are you gonna find out the sex soon? And you're right, posting here is better/safer than any baby center board. That board moves WAY too fast for me anyways. And the FF boards are depressing because there have been SO many m/c's that it makes me scared.

I'm glad you are able to find the HB with your at home doppler now nearly every time. That has got to be exciting all in itself. My baby didn't want to cooperate with the doppler at my appt on Tuesday. It's facing my spine so it's not in the right direction for a doppler. I'm hoping at my next appt (16 weeks) we'll be able to get it.

Oh, trust me, I'm looking fwd to having this little baby here for sure! That stinks that you're not really able to enjoy being pregnant but at least you can find some fun in it. I can't wait to seriously shop for things after we find out the sex. I can't wait to register!

I agree that finding out the gender is a nice little treat mid way though and I can't wait to find out. DH is convinced it's a boy though. I'm a little afraid he's gonna be disappointed if it's a girl.

And I totallly agree!! How hard would it be to see us every 3 weeks at least!? So far I've had to wait every 5 weeks! :headache:

Yeah, I agree about the other boards. I hate some of the things they talk about there but I do lurk. I barely post though. I had an SCH at 6 weeks and spotted off and on until 9 weeks. At my appt on Tuesday my Dr said it's gone and baby is perfect so I guess that's another reason I wasn't really posting here, just in case, ya know?

But I DO have a question! My Dr doesn't do the NT scan. She said something about checking for downs at 16 - 20 weeks so I think she's gonna do the triple screen instead. Have any of you had this done? From what I've read it's just blood work.

I'm 99% sure the triple screen is just bloodwork. We had that done when I was pregnant with DD. I don't even remember what the results were. Just keep in mind they're just odds, not guarantees.

Post away, ask away. Seriously! :goodvibes I wish I had a nice safe place to ask when I was pg with DD.

Welcome!

I opted out of the triple screening blood work and NT scan, so I can't tell you much about it.

Made it to 24 weeks and gave a huge sigh of relief. Now to just wait till Sept 16th and my scheduled c-section. Daniel has been kicking more and more and Dh and DD felt it this past week. I'm feeling tired and sometimes my back aches, but I'm still for the most part enjoying being pregnant. I am finding the hot weather annoying. We hit 88 last week and I took over the ac. I've got it set at 75 and still find it on the warm side. I am so looking forward to summer break and spending time at the pool and lake.

Hi Leger - I understand your point - I tend to lurk even on this nice board- I guess I just feel like I don't have much to say sometimes or that everyone already knows one another...I do read everything and have learned lots - this is my first and I get the sense I am older than most here - I'll be 38 when little one arrives - a very pleasant surprise for us after repeatedly being told we could conceive. The few questions I have asked everyone has been very helpful and forthcoming.

As for an update from me - we have picked a name for our little girl - Danielle and we have finally stopped referring to her as "baby girl" or as yet to be named baby (insert last name here).

My sister sent us a britax roundabout carseat - we purchased an infant one so she called and asked if she could buy us the convertible one for when they are older - of course we said sure!

So far we have purchased a Graco travel system (only because I got it on clearance for $50, brand new, in box at walmart) it is bulky and not what i wanted but I couldn't pass up the deal - I am a frugal fanny....:rotfl:

and I bought a gently used (said never used; but who knows) Kolcraft Step 2 activity center that turns into the push behind walker for our little diva - my first ever purchase off craigslist - I got it for $40 and it retails for about $110

We were given a bouncy seat as a gift - same sister as the carseat - she seems unable to stop shopping

I feel like we are so far behind and have so much to buy/do. Our "nursery" is filled with junk - spare bedroom/office furniture that all needs to be stored in the basement before I can even begin to envision a nursery for Danielle....feels a little overwhelming - I figured we would tackle it this weekend but hubby hurt his arm so we continue to procrastinate

Danielle is a cute name, I really like it. :goodvibes

Oh gosh! I don't know anyone here! I just met all of you when I joined this thread! :)

I feel behind too. We're accumulating stuff yet spending savings at the same time, lol. DD's room is still full of stuff (she still sleeps in our room... I'm going to have a difficult time when she's in her own room.) and I have to get that cleaned out. I don't even know what to do with 90% of the stuff in there. I wish I did. I don't want to sell it in case I ever get my DD #2, but I just have nowhere to put it! On top of DD's things, I have behbeh DS's things in there, and I have NO clue where to put them! :scared1:

That rocks about your sister's shopping... rock on! Keep shopping! If she wants to shop for boy things, send her my way! (I'm sister-less)

Oh and don't worry about being older than some of us.. age 'ain't nothin' but a number!' I feel like I'm 29 going on 50...

...and DH is off again today (he took a long weekend on Friday, and today he's off) and we're ready to kill each other. I swear, no more long weekends unless we have plans to do something. We just end up sitting around bickering. UGH!!

My dh is taking a nap- geez we just got up 4 hours ago - I am so ready for him to return to work !:lmao:

We did this... If I remember correctly (I’ve had a lot of tests and they all seem to blend together), it was blood work and a VERY extensive ultrasound. This is a very nerve racking test. They can't give you guarantees one way or the other, they can simply tell you 'odds'. At our office we had to meet with a genetic specialist twice just to make sure we understood the test prior to them allowing us to have it done.

Ugh - not much else to report. I feel like I've had *fewer* contractions since my last appointment than before! I have still been losing (sorry, gross) a lot of mucus and it's pink/browner after the membrane stripping, which is supposed to be normal. But really not much going on contraction-wise, and they still go away when I lay down or take a bath or anything like that.

Sorry to hear things aren't moving as quickly as you'd like.....but hopefully things will pick up in the next day or so. :)

I think everyone here brings a unique perspective to being pg....so post away! I hope the baby cooperates for your gender scan before WDW! :goodvibes

One week from today I should be welcoming my little girl into the world! :lovestruc

Yea!! :yay: :yay:

Heck, I'm 30w4d and still feel out of the loop! I mostly lurk and post every now and then.

We've spent most of the weekend doing baby stuff. We finally got the crib put together Friday night and spent all day Sunday baby shopping (mainly clothes up at the outlets- Squirt has faaaaaar too many clothes but they're so darn cute!) and finally picked up the crib mattress at BuyBuyBaby (since we finally have one "nearby"). We spent today setting up more stuff in the nursery and bought a bunch of little toys at our local baby shop (ALL Chicco and Sassy toys were $2, regardless of size!) because DH worries that we don't have enough toys  There's still a lot to do but at least I feel like we've accomplished stuff and at the very least have a place for her to sleep.
