Moms to be Part 4

When I was looking at the Graco Mickey in the House Snugride car seat I found out Target has it on sale for less than $100. I still ended up getting it through Walmart with free shipping to the store. I can't wait for it to arrive and see how it looks. I also got the pack n play and stroller base for the carseat.

Only 8 more days of school and then we are on summer break. It'll be nice to hang out with my DD. I've missed it since we quit homeschooling and she went back to public school. Looks like it will be a fun summer.

Small world!

Your DS is adorable. Wow, he had a lot of hair.

My DD was bald until she was 1.

I never heard heartburn = hairy babies. :confused3

Thanks, I like him! :goodvibes When he was born, I had a c-section and didn't get to see him right away, but I just remember the nurse saying over and over that you would never have guessed he would come from a blond woman. I didn't even know what she was talking about until I saw him. Funny thing, even though I am blond, I was born with a full head of darker hair too. It fell out, but DS's didn't!

The heartburn = hairy babies thing is an old wives' tale I've heard from many people. I don't really believe old wives' tales, but this one turned out to be true for my first son. We'll see if it's true for my daughter too!

Hey everybody, join me into the heartburn club... it's driving me crazy. Hopefully we'll find out the sex of the baby at our next appt if he/she cooperates. :)

I had my Dr appt this morning and everything is fine. He said I can take Zantac for the heartburn so I will try that. DH takes Zantac all the time so we have some in the house. I had pizza last night for dinner and was on fire all night! I know I did it to myself, but as I said in a previous post, no matter what I eat I get heartburn so I figured I might as well enjoy the meal at least :)

So, at the end of the appt the Dr said "see you in 2 weeks!" I said, "really??" I just didn't think I was that far along yet!! I will be 28 weeks on Sunday......I figured I had one more 4 week appt then every 2 but I guess not.....I forget when I started 2 week appts with DD.......

Pollito: Your DS is adorable!

I have horrible acid reflux also. It doesn't matter what I eat for me, either. If baby has hair like me and DH do, he will have a TON of thick, curly hair.

I have a four day weekend this week (I work M-TH normally, but am off this M for Memorial Day). I am going to supervise DH putting up the shelves in baby's room!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Okay....you all have been talking about the Mickey stuff so much I went and checked it out. I might have to join the club if we decide to go with an infant carseat in the beginning :)

I was at Target and heard a mother calling her 3 daughters: Ariel, Ella, and Rory (short for Aurora??) - do you think somebody is obsessed with Disney princesses? princess:

I think things are starting to move along for me! Last night (skip if squeamish) I lost my mucus plug. I felt sort of sick to my stomach also and I've been having more intermittent cramps and contractions that do feel a little different than the ones I had before - nothing really progressing yet, but a step in the right direction. I'll be really happy if I don't have to be induced and things just get going on their own.

DH started panicking and cleaned the house and put together the Pack n Play. :) He has a four day weekend starting tomorrow and it would be nice if the baby waited a couple more days, because there's a lot I'd like to get done before it comes!

Any good Babies R Us coupons out there?? I really need to get some crib bedding for the little guy and am thinking of checking out BRU tomorrow.....I ordered DD's from Baby Supermall so I might end up going that route but thought I would see if there's anything on sale first....

I think bedding is 20% off with a coupon you can get when you walk in the store, at least it was when we went in earlier this week.

Pollito: What a cute little guy! :)

Yea for progress! Hope things move along before you're scheduled to be induced.

I think they do have some good deals this weekend due to the holiday. If you are signed up for their email ads, I just got one today and it had a few things in it regarding BOGO 1/2 off on select bedding and accessories.

Went to the doc today and baby looks good. Apparently he is now measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule. The doc used the word "huge" more than once...:scared1: According to measurements, he now weighs just over 3 and 1/2 pounds. I'm definitely not going to see my August due date.

Hiya :) Quick note: I was just in BRU today.. today was the last day for the 20% off bedding/nursery, but they gave me new coupons for June. Also keep an eye out on the backs of the Toys R Us Sunday circulars. :)

Gotta go, today is a BUSY day... I just wanna go to bed!!

Sounds like things are heading in the right direction :goodvibes I need to figure out a way to get my DH to panic and clean the house :lmao:

So far, the heartburn thing has been true for me - a ton of heartburn, and a TON of hair on my babies. My oldest had his first haircut at 3 months. I have no heartburn this time (at least not yet) - maybe this one will be a baldy?

Pollito: What a cute little guy! :)

He is cute :)

Something about a doc using the word "huge" would scare me - good luck :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I went to the doc today also. DH even came along because we figured we would find out for sure what it is. It is still an it! The little bugger just wouldn't cooperate - sitting straight up and down and hiding in my pelvis so the dr. couldn't make anything out. Arrgh - one more month of waiting. It was a total roller coaster, too - "oh, that looks like a boy, oh no well that looks like a girl and so does that" - he finally gave up. But, everything looks healthy - yay!

Hope everyone has a great long weekend :):):)

Had membranes swept today...definitely uncomfortable/painful enough that I held my breath, but it was over quickly. Felt about like you'd expect a pap to feel (which has never been a problem for me) but with fingers sweeping around instead of a q-tip. :scared1: I have some spotting now which is not uncommon. Still hopeful that baby will come before my induction scheduled for Thursday morning. :)

Good luck!!! Have a great weekend!:goodvibes

Yes! Good luck! Hopefully you'll be too busy to update us before then. :)

Ugh - not much else to report. I feel like I've had *fewer* contractions since my last appointment than before! I have still been losing (sorry, gross) a lot of mucus and it's pink/browner after the membrane stripping, which is supposed to be normal. But really not much going on contraction-wise, and they still go away when I lay down or take a bath or anything like that.

Frustrated! I really want to go into labor on my own and have this baby! My dr said if I make it to induction Thursday a.m. he'll break my water, use cervidil and possibly some pitocin to induce. I don't mind the first two so much, but I hear pitocin horror stories which is a big reason I'd like things to just get moving on their own. He also asked if I was planning an epidural - I told him I'd been planning on playing it by ear but was not anti-epidural, and he said a benefit of me having one is that it does help keep blood pressure down during labor for women who have struggled with that.

In a way I'm glad to hear that because I think it gives me an even "better" reason to have one if I need it ;) but I was also looking forward to being able to move around, not be catheterized (which I think is likely if not inevitable with epidural - not sure what my hospital does), and recover quickly if I was able to labor without it. He didn't say I have to have one, so I think a lot depends on my blood pressure while I labor, and if it is high I have no problems getting it. I'll probably want it anyway. :lmao: I'm just kind of trying to go into everything with an open mind. I'm not uber-natural or anything, but I kind of want to see what my body can do on its own at first, even if I am likely to take the interventions offered after all. If not for the high blood pressure, I'd not be taking him up on the induction in the first place just because I hear labor can be easier if it happens spontaneously rather than artificially.

DH has been super sweet and helpful though. He asked me to make a list of things I wanted done around the house before the baby comes, he's done it all and he keeps telling the baby it's time to come now. :) He's going to be a great dad.

phragmipedium-I had pitocin, but my epi was already in place. I could tell it speeded things up, but it wasn't a huge deal since I had the epi (which I strongly recommend!). While I couldn't get up, I did get to move in bed a good bit, and change positions at least hourly, but more if I wanted. They did in and out catheters, so it was over in less than 5 minutes. I only had to have it done twice, and I had the epi from about 10 am until about 9:30 pm. I didn't feel anything, just felt kind of awkward having somebody messing around down there. Even the real catheter that stayed put wasn't annoying since I couldn't feel it go in.

You'll do fine, especially since you have such an open mind!!

Hey everyone. I haven't really been posting here since you all are so much further along than I am so I feel a little out of the loop but I do come over and read from time to time.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm finally starting to embark on the 2nd trimester and my m/s is fading away. I still have a bit of post nasal drip but other that that things are well. I had an u/s on Tuesday and baby looks great with a hb of 166bpm. He/she is SO cute already! We got a picture where it looks like baby is sucking it's thumb. :goodvibes My next appt is June 29th. We're also going on a babymoon to WDW the first week of July so since my OB won't do an early gender scan we're gonna go to a private place the week before to get the gender scan done so we know the sex of the baby and can get gender specific things while at WDW. :thumbsup2 Can't wait!

Anyways, I guess when I get a bit further I'll check in more but like I said, you all are so much further ahead of me and this is my first baby I don't know a lot of the things you are talking about.

I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day!!
