I noticed when I was signing up you have to check the box for the promotional e-mails - maybe it didn't get checked?
I went back and checked the box - thanks!
Is anyone else sweating like crazy? It finally got warm here and it is impossible for me to cool down. I am use to heat, I grew up in Houston, TX, but right now, I am defiantly sweating for two.
I'm in Phoenix, so it's not as humid here, but it is approaching 100 here already. I don't sweat much, except under my b00bs, which is gross. I'm wondering if a different bra would be better
My heartburn is unreal. I take Tums every night and it's still bad. Diet modification makes no difference. I can have a plain piece of toast or a mexican meal and I will get heartburn both times. I have a Dr appt on Thursday and I am going to ask what else I can take because I cannot deal with it for another 12 or so weeks.....
We have to travel about 4 hrs this weekend to visit DH's dad. I am awful, but I am soooo not looking forward to it. I'm tired and uncomfortable and I really am not sleeping great, so not having my own bed is going to suck! Ok, I will change my attitude....or at least try
I have been taking generic Zantac with breakfast and dinner most days b/c like you, I get heartburn no matter what I eat. Even just drinking water gives me heartburn. I wake up with it.
Travel really isn't as bad as you think, just tiring. 3 weeks ago I went to Boston 5+ hour flights each way - that was the worst! It's hard to get up and walk on the plane, there isn't always the room. Then we drove to DL (6 hours) flew to Mexico (3 hours), flew back (3 hours) and drove back (6 hours). Driving is easier to stop and get out to walk around, can move the seat around more than flying, etc. As long as you are not the one driving.

I drove ~ 2 hours and the RLS in my legs was killing me, so I gave DH back the wheel.
I went to buy some Zantac today, but they didn't have what I wanted... boo. I don't want to take 150 when 75 might work, kwim? I wish Tums worked, they only make me barf!
That's not good about your reaction to Tums - I've never heard of that before. My OB said I could take Zantac 75 or 150. During my first pregnancy I took the 75 and it didn't help much, so this time when the heartburn started up again, I went straight for the 150 and feel much better. Most of the time.
I had my appt today with my first internal exam. I'm 1-2 cm dialated and my cervix is thinning nicely, he said. He said conditions would be favorable for induction next Thursday if the baby doesn't come earlier on its own, and that he may strip my membranes on Friday to see if that gets things going also.
Any moms have any experience with the membrane stripping? I've read it's anywhere from mildly uncomfortable to quite painful. I never really had any pain or anything with regular paps, and I've had a lot of period-type cramping in the last several weeks - is this unbearable or really no big deal beyond some cramping?
Ooh, you're almost there! I have no experience with membrane stripping, but like you have heard that it can be painful....
Insomnia strikes. And even after I took a 1/2 Ambien. I was dozing, but never falling asleep and now baby is awake and thinks it is time to kick, kick, kick. I hate this. And the RLS is back with a vengeance now too.

So I also feel like a fool over the whole iron thing... though, it did help a whole lot at first, so maybe I screwed something else up in the mean time... Or maybe, I am just doomed to be awake FOREVER!
This baby loves to be up going crazy at night too - what is up with that? I'm like, take a rest girlie, momma needs some sleep! My RLS hasn't gotten any better either, I guess I'll ask my OB about it at the next appt, but they took blood at my 18 week appt and said everything came back good, so I don't think it's the iron for me
Ok, vent coming. I had my 18 week appt on Monday with my doc. So, he literally does a quick ultrasound and says there's the heartbeat, 146, baby is breech, and prints a not so good picture.
So, I waited 1 1/2 hours for a 5 minute check. UGH, I was so annoyed. Had to get a babysitter and wasted an entire evening on that.
Ok, vent over. So, we have to wait until June 7 to find out the sex and I'll be 20 weeks and 3 days at that point.
Sorry you had such a long appointment to not find out much. I was just dying to find out the sex and my little bugger wasn't very cooperative for the big u/s, but the tech was pretty sure she's a girl.
They are in-fact delivering me at 37 weeks! I will be going in Sunday, June 6, around 6 pm so they can get me all prepped for labor and I should most likely deliver on June 7! The only kind of scary part was when my doctor asked us if we knew about being given magnesium. We didnt, because I have been avoiding pregnancy books and the internet because they only make me worry more
Apparently if you have preeclampsia, prior to, or after delivery, they give you magnesium because it helps prevent seizures which are something that can happen to women with preeclampsia
Well that sounds great!
Woo-hoo for setting a date!

I never knew about the magnesium either, it doesn't sound good, but the benefits to you and the baby must outweight all the side effects or the dr wouldn't recommend it.
