Just let me know if you want to be added or if you think that anything should be changed!

*HeartTink04*- Due June 3, 2011- It’s staying a Surprise!

Thanks for making this! You can add me - I'm Due March 25th and so far it's a surprise, but I think I will be finding out at my next sonogram.

Daniel is now 10 days old and doing great. The jaundice is slowly going away and I think he's gaining weight. He still sleeps a lot. Last night he slept for 6 hours straight. We do have to wake him up every 3 hours to feed him. If we were to let him he would wait 4 or more hours between meals. He's become very lazy and prefers the bottle over breast, so I'm pumping and bottle feeding breast milk. I hope I can maintain my supply for a while, but I expect eventually we will go to formula. Honestly he's such an easy baby I wonder why I waited 10 years to have a second child.

But now I'm no longer a Mom to be, and was wondering what other threads everyone hangs out on.

Looks like we posted at the same time. Congrats on your BFP. :) With my 1st pregnancy 7 years ago, my Dr never mentioned anything about not eating deli meat. However, this time around she did mention that it needs to be heated up so I've been doing that. I zap it in the microwave right before I eat it at work when I bring a sandwich. I just avoid it when I'm out unless I can get it heated. Not sure if you could heat it the day before or not.

With the lunchmeat, it just has to be heated well once. The doctor said I could "treat" an entire package at home, then use it for my sandwiches whenever. It has to be heated to steaming. I pretty much refrained. It was easier than worrying about it. I didn't really care for ground beef, either. I hated Mexican food, too, which is usually my favorite. I never had any morning sickness, but I definitely had some food aversions!

Congrats & welcome! With my 1st pregnancy which was 7 yrs ago, I had never heard about the deli meat thing and ate sandwiches just about everyday for lunch. I'm a salad, sandwich, or soup eater at work for lunch. I heard about it this time around and asked my doctor and he said you could eat lunchmeat and didn't mention anything about heating it. He said the chances of developing listeria (spelling?) is extremely rare. So, I still eat deli meat and most of the time it is not heated. In fact, I just came from a party and had 1/2 a Jimmy Johns sandwich which was not heated.

Thank you, ladies. Well, I am going to the doc on Wednesday, so I guess this is a good question to ask. Good to know it can all be heated at once ahead of time. Thanks on the congrats, as well! :)

Congrats to the ladies that just gave birth. Both babies are oh so cute and squishy!! :goodvibes

I hope everyone is doing well. I don't DIS much really these days but I think of everyone here often.

Congrats to our newest BFP's!! Hope for a H&H 9 months for you ladies!

AFM ~ I just had my 28 week appointment last Friday. I got my RhoGam shot since I am Rh-. Everything looks great though! I'm measuring right on track, baby's heart beat sounds great and I passed my 1 hour glucose test! Yay!! :thumbsup2 I'm now down to a dr's appointment every two weeks now so that's exciting! My next one is October 8th. This weekend is going to be very busy but very exciting. We are having our 3d ultrasound on Friday afternoon. I'll do my best to remember to come back and post pictures from that. My baby shower is Saturday (hooray!) and Sunday we do our L&D tour since we didn't make it to the last one I had scheduled back around 20 weeks along. I'm feeling pretty ready for our little guy! I can't wait for the end of November/Dec to get here. I just wanna snuggle my guy in my arms.

Okay guys bear with me! I don't remember exactly how it looked so I did my best.

Just let me know if you want to be added or if you think that anything should be changed!

I don't know how good these are but you can't beat FREE. All you have to do is enter the promo code "babies" and pay the S&H and you get a $48 sling for FREE!! I just ordered one. Like I said, I have no idea how good they are and I wasn't even considering getting a baby sling but ..... free? I couldn't pass that up to at least TRY a sling. And if I somewhat like this one but it doesn't turn out to be right for us I can try a different one.

It looks like some of the sizes are going fast so if you want one in the right size you will probably have to act fast.

Here's the email I received.

www.sevenslings.com is running a limited time promotion where you can 100% off any of their baby slings. We have made an arrangement where you can get any of their slings (regular price $48) for $0 - just pay the shipping fees!

The code is "babies".

Go to www.sevenslings.com, click on "Shop Now", select the baby sling you would like and you will automatically be repositioned to the center of the page where you can enter in the promo code! Type in babies and it will bring your product total to $0! We are not sure how long this promotion can last. You can use the code more than once - you just have to open a new browser/window to do so.

This promotion gives you 1 baby sling for $0 + S&H or 1 gift set for $5 + S&H! This promotion code is valid once per transaction, so you can order as many times as you would like!

*You may have heard about the "bag sling" recall. The recalled slings are not the same type of baby sling found at sevenslings.com. The recalled slings were "bag slings" and were similar to an elastic closure purse where the baby sits closer to your thighs than your chest. Seven™ Slings are fitted, non-adjustable "pouch slings" and hold your baby right up close to you on your chest where you can see and kiss your child. There has not been a recall associated with "pouch style slings".

P.S. - Due to the nature of this promotion and the high traffic expected the Seven Slings website may be running very slow.

Sincerely,
SevenSlings.com

Leger, I can't believe you're doing appointments every two weeks already! I don't remember that starting so soon when I was pregnant with my DS. Wow!

Well, tomorrow is our big ultrasound!! I am SOOOO excited!!

Ugh! I am so miserable. It takes everything I have to drag my butt out of bed in the mornings. I'm big and clumsy. My clothes (maternity) are fitting funny and driving me crazy....some pants are too big and slide down and the others fit good but because it's a lower waist pair they slide down too. I only bought a 3 pack of undies when I first started wearing maternity and have almost worn those out (how DO undies get holes in them?). The regular undies I bought just bigger are starting to cut into my legs when I wear them making them worthless. I will probably break down and buy another package, but I only have 7 more weeks at the most and I really anticipate going into labor before then and it seems like such a waste of money. I'm absolutely exhausted...I can't remember the last time I slept more than 3 hours straight. I'm trying to figure out how to eat with gestational diabetes and my readings are driving me crazy.....last night my after dinner reading was 119 - which I was told it should be below 120. Great it was. But my fasting level this morning, which I was told should be below 90 was 105? How does that work? How am I supposed to control that if what I ate kept me within my after eating number range? I can't change the way I fast over night. I get tired just walking down the hall...oh and EVERY time I stand up I have to pee desperately. I'm having lower back spasms this morning and Braxton Hicks. I think I'm falling apart. But I'm at work and when people ask I tell them I'm doing great....I'm not going to be "that" pregnant lady that does nothing but complain.....but I really needed to get all that off my chest. I know it will all be worth it in the end, but right now I'm ready to be done. Oh...but of course I don't have everything ready :rotfl: And I'm too tired to do much of anything :)

WDWorBUST: i'm right there with you. Nothing is fitting anymore but i'm not buying new clothes when i only have 6 weeks left. RCS is scheduled for November 9th. I already have to go to the doctor every week, but what can ya do. I just wish I could get a good night sleep between the heartburn, restless legs, and our three year old, i'm getting very little quality sleep. The cats don't help either. arrrggg. I'm glad others are in the same boat with me. :rotfl:

My RCS is scheduled for 11/12 and I am just keeping my fingers crossed I got into labor before then. Looking at our tickers we have the same due date :) I think I will probably break down and buy more undies. All I have are capris (and shorts) and T-shirts to make it until then, but I think I can manage with those - it usually is pretty warm through October here and if I need to I can always throw on a sweater. My dd was born on 11/1 and my water broke on 10/31 - I went into the hospital in shorts and a T-shirt and came home in sweats. I have an appt the 7th & then the 21st and then I will start going every week. Although they may add an appt in between those two since I have since been diagnosed with GD.

Well, tomorrow is our big ultrasound!! I am SOOOO excited!!

:cool1: How exciting! Can't wait for you to find out. I remember how excited I was to find out what we were having which seems like forever ago.

*************

Leger - thanks for the info on the sling. NOt sure if it is still good today, but I'll check it out.

WDWorBust - There are days when I feel like that too. I'm working full-time to the bitter end. I hope it gets better for you.

I had my 36 week appt last night. It was the first internal exam where he took cultures to test for whatever...... He measured my belly and said I was measuring at 35 weeks, but was not too worried. He thinks the baby flipped and is no longer breech based on where he found the heartbeat. I guess he's not concerned b/c I haven't had an ultrasound since 30 weeks. He also said I was already starting to "thin out" and he doesn't envision me going late or past my due date. He didn't exactly say I would go early though, so who knows. I was induced with DD (almost 8 yrs ago) at 40 weeks b/c nothing was happening and I was measuring behind so he was worried she wasn't get enough nutrition. She ended up being 7lbs.

So, here's hoping I go early. :)

Question: I cannot find a going home outfit for the baby. I know I'll be getting newborn size which will probably still be too big. I have a feeling he is going to be 7lbs or less just based on my size right now. I just don't know what to bring w/ to the hospital for pics & going home. Do you all have outfits? If yes, would you mind posting pics & where you got it from?

Thanks!

WDWorBust and newddmommie -- I hope you both feel better soon! I'm only 21 weeks along, and I can't seem to find a comfortable position to sleep in, so I sympathize with you.

Question about registries -- I just started doing my registry this morning because my mom and sister and throwing me a shower on Novermber 13. Do I need to register for clothes? I assume that people will buy cute baby clothes without me having to ask for them. I've never done a registry before (got married in Vegas), and it is kind of weird. I don't want to appear greedy, so is it OK if I register at 2 stores? I did Baby Depot (Burlington Coat Factory) online this morning because they have the cutest nursery stuff, but I also want to do Target for more basic stuff like sheets, high chair, and supplies.

Really? I thought my Dr was starting my every 2 week appointments late. I'm just excited to have things moving along a bit faster now. I know after this weekend time will be at a stand still because I won't have much left to do before Alex is born.

Yay for big ultrasound!! I hope it goes great!

Sorry you're feeling so rough and uncomfortable. I'm not quite there yet but I'm not far behind you. My maternity clothes are already starting to not really fit that great. I hate them and I'm sick of wearing them. Bummer on the back pain and BH too. I hope you can get some rest and feel better. Oh yeah and the undies....I totally hear you on that. I don't want to buy any more maternity clothes and yet I guess sometimes you just have to. The lady at Motherhood over the weekend tried to sell me stuff and I said I wasn't buying anything unless I had to. She was SUPER nice to me the first time I went in there but this time since I wasn't spending any $ she was actually kinda rude and made it seem like it was a waste of her time to even look at me.

Leger - thanks for the info on the sling. NOt sure if it is still good today, but I'll check it out.

Not a problem! I'm not sure how long the code is good for. I think while quantities last? :confused3

Yay for a good 36 week appointment. I hope you won't have to be induced this time and your Dr is right. FX you go early!! :thumbsup2

My Grandmother actually bought us an outfit for Alex that we are using for his going home outfit. She bought it at Dillards.

Everyone told me not to register for clothes because ppl buy them whether you register for them or not. And boy have they ever! This kid has WAY more clothes than even I do!! So yeah, stay away from registering for clothes. Just register for the baby gear that you will need. The essentials and not so essentials. Registering at 2 stores is usually the norm. Not everyone can get to just one store easily so I think Baby Depot and Target is a good idea. I wound up registering at BRU and Amazon but everyone seems to be scared of my Amazon registry for some reason. :confused3

WDW...I'm so sorry you are so uncomfortable! I hope you feel better after letting it all out!! Re your fasting blood sugar in the morning...are you eating a post-dinner snack? I know my dietician told me a post-dinner snack (about an hour before bed) that includes protein was essential to help keep my blood sugar in check over night.

lspst...I registered at Target and Babies R Us. I didn't register for any "cute" clothing, but did register for plain onesies. DS lived in those things (night and day) when we weren't going anywhere. Everyone buys the cute clothing, but you may want to throw in a few plain onesies/gowns/sleepers. I LOVE having a registry to shop from. No one will think you are greedy! Just make sure you have a wide price range for people to pick from. And don't be afraid to put that $100-200 stroller/carseat/etc. on your registry. A lot of times people will get together to purchase those big items. :)

________________

Had my ultrasound today and it's a BOY! DS will be SOOO excited!! People keep asking me if I'm sad it's not a girl or saying we'll need to try again for a girl. After 4 years of infertility, all I wanted was a healthy baby! And I'm not putting myself through all of that again to "try for a girl." Crazy people that don't know what it's like to struggle to get pregnant!

I think we've decided on Liam as the name.
Middle name will be either Vincent (after my grandpa) or Joseph (after DH's uncle that died in a terrible accident when he was a teenager).

Hanes has pretty good undies on the cheap. And you will need comfy undies after the baby comes out - that belly sticks around for a while.

For DD3 we had a cute smocked outfit for going home in and she looked like a linebacker wearing it. So G went home in a plain pink onesie with a cute flower headband. She was wrapped up in a blanket anyway, so the outfit was less important for us.

Congrats on the boy, skuttle! We hear the same thing about a boy. Um, no. Two is our limit and we are happy with two healthy girls.

I made Ds's going home outfit. I took a plain white onesie and did the iron on transfer. I put that on him with a pair of pants and socks. I also made DD a big sister shirt. Here are the pictures I used for the transfers.

People will appreciate multiple places to shop and big registries. I wouldn't register for clothes, but maybe lots of onesies.

Super cute! Why can't I find anything like that at Target or Buy Buy Baby?

it's a BOY!

Congrats! I'm sure your son is very happy. My DD was bummed this baby is a boy. I told her she wouldn't have to share her American Girl dolls so now she doesn't think it's so bad. I still think she wanted a little sister though. Oh well.......... DH is very happy it's a boy. Healthy is all that matters!:thumbsup2

Ya know, w/ DD, I had a white sleeper that DH bought me on Mother's Day when I was a few months pregnant. When they grabbed her for pics at the hospital, the sleeper was way too big and was just white so I told them to just take her pics in the white hospital shirt. I wish I had brought a cute outfit for the pics. That is my only concern. I don't really care what he comes home in either, but would like him to wear something for the hospital pics. Even though those pics always come out terrible, I still get suckered into buying them.......

For those of you having your second baby, if you are buying the big bro/lil bro shirts, what size did you buy the baby? I found some cute ones that I like, but the smallest they have for baby is 6 months. I know that will probably float on a newborn, but do you think it will be good enough for a few pics?
