MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

I noticed you said you can get in at 4. I called Disney after reading this and was told absolutely not because I have a dining reservation at 5 and they said I have to have a regular theme park ticket to get in for that dining reservation even if I have a ticket for the party.

not what I was told by a CM on the phone when I called to inquire about BBB reservations...I think you got a CM who may not be informed :rolleyes1....I would call back and ask again and see if you get a different answer.....
I was told 4pm too!
Good luck!

Does anybody know which performance of the Villians Mix and mingle show that they do not come down after for photos. Thanks

Don't know the time, but it would be the last one before the fireworks. Fireworks start at 9:30, so it would be the last show that starts before 9:30.

Like I've said many times, in many threads about parties over the past few years, this is a unofficial and unwritten perk for party goers. It's been the case since 2001. Of course, since it is unofficial, it can be taken away at any time but you will be let in at 4:00p as they already had a party this year and that was the case. :thumbsup2

As with most things Disney, you will get some CMs who know about this perk and some that don't.

I was told by a CM that we could get in at 4pm...We have a BBB at 5:15 and they said ti would be no problem she said if by chance they are filled to capacity that day, We would just need to give a CM the Reservation # for BBB and they would let us in!

I apologize if I am asking a question that has been asked before, however, after two evenings reading this thread, I'm only on page 25. :rolleyes1

Anyway, we are considering going to the party with my DN8, DS7 and DS4. DN8 and DS7 are chickens when it comes to anything scary (for that matter so am I). DS4 can handle a little more. I was really leaning towards going to the party, but avoiding HM which I know they won't like at all, however, after seeing some pics of CMs in dead face pain I'm thinking they would freak if they come across them in the park or see them in the parade.

I'm wondering if anyone else with little chickens had any problems at the party? I'd hate to get there and freak them out. Any thoughts?

I don't know about the capacity part. Even if you had an ADR at CRT (where you would be charged for a no-show), I don't believe they will let you in if the park is at capacity. However, I doubt that till be an issue.

I had heard that if the park is filled to capacity, and you arrive on Disney transportation ;I.E. Buses, you can still gain entry to the park.

I have the same question. It's supposed to be "not so scary", right? But some of the pictures look like they'd be pretty darn scary to little kids, especially a little chicken like my dd6. She doesn't even like Winnie the Pooh because of the heffalumps and woozles. :rotfl2:

I hope my dd and your dn and ds can handle the party OK.

I took my niece (4.5 yrs) last year and she only pulled the canopy for the stroller down when she saw the grave diggers during the parade.

She can't wait to go again this year to MNSSHP. Maybe I can get her on some good rides this year-Splash, BTMRR, etc. She is a chicken.

It depends on what stage the park is in. At one point, they close the parking lot, then only on-site guests, etc., etc. and eventually no one. That rarely happens, though. I can almost guarantee it won't be an issue for PP.

I made a 3:50 ADR for the CP before I realized this is the day we'll be going to MNSSHP. I haven't had any luck changing time for ADR and I'd rather not "waste" a regular park day ticket since this is our arrival day and we won't make it to the park until 3-4 anyway. Do you think we'd be able to get in a little early? What if I showed our ADR confirmation printout from online ressies? Other option would be to show up 15-20 minutes late for ADR. Would they still let us in? I know they'll be terribly busy that night. I'll keep trying for a later ADR, but do you think either of the above options would work?

The last few years they have been very strict about NOT allowing party ticket holders in before 4PM. In fact, when we've been there early, they hold the party-goers at the turnstiles to the right until exactly 4 (no special line for ADRs, etc for checking in - we tried for a 4PM BBB appt w/a few CMs, no go!).
My advice, if you can't change the time, would be to get there before 4 so you are in the front of the 4PM line to get in and high tail it to CP. Pretty sure they will not cancel you for being 15 min late - you just may have to wait a bit. PS: take your ADR conf with you anyway, in June they didn't have record of my ADR and were not going to seat us as they were booked solid - fortunately I had my conf print out from concierge!
Just another thought, is 3:50 the last seating for lunch or the first seating for dinner? If it's lunch you may have a problem with that if the switch-over is at 4PM.

No, you will not get in early. They are already letting party goers in 3 hours early so they are very strict about the 4:00p entry time.

You can either be about 15 minutes late, continue trying to make a later ADR time or cancel the ADR and forget it. Good luck.

It isn't scary at all. My kids are both "chicken littles" and they loved it. The walk to the house is a little scary. And where you enter and go into the holding room is a little scary (while waiting to go in), only because of the unknown. There aren't any creatures, or anything that way to be scared of.

We went on Oct. 31 and my kids both thought, it was sooo awesome they wanted to do it again! (DS was 5 and DD9).

It is very cool.;)

My son does NOT like that room at teh beginning so we let teh CM know and can go straight on the ride. Being packed in that wee room wit hteh big vioce and unknown was a bit much for him. But they liked the ride - although we may not do it again, there's plenty others to do. You could parent swap if you really wanted to check it out?

if anyone has seen ADULT (actually plus size) halloween theme shirts anywhere please pass info along..I tried Wal-mart and Target no luck! No time to order from ebay or online...we leave this week! thanks.

We are attending the MNSSHP for our first time on October 12th and my question is we were also considering doing the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party. Would it be crazy to do them the same night?

I don't know if you have a Party City near you...they had several Halloween shirts that looked pretty big. They were $9.99. Not a huge selection, but the did have some. I'm not having luck finding a costume I like, so I might go the shirt route...

Or, you can go over to the Disigns board and search...there are some great Disney halloween things there you can use to make your own shirt. :)
Here's an example:
