What time will the MNSSHP Party Specific Merchandise be available? Does it start at 4 or do we wait to 7? I looked on the MNSSHP main page and didn't se a time listed. Any help will be appreciated.

We have not been in a few years, but back then we had to wait until 7:00 to purchase specific MNSSHP merchandise.

First party - people were purchasing before 5pm, though I was told that it was generally supposed to be sold starting at 5pm.

Good to know. We attended a party before the wristband went into effect. I am glad that even though they are selling them earlier then the party starts, you had to show your wristband in order to purchase.

We were able to by it early on the 8th- I think it was before 5pm. We did have to show our wristband.

Last year we were allowed to purchase it at the Emporium right after we got our wristbands at 4:00 p.m. You had to show your wristband to even be allowed into the area with the merchandise- there were CMs standing by it. This year, I saw a blogger (can't remember which one) report that they were allowed to purchase shortly after 4, but another one that said they were told to come back at 7. The one that was told to come back was on the first night, and the other was after that, so the first could have had a CM that didn't know, or it could have been a difference in which store, or things already could have changed. I would definitely try it early.

Why require a wristband? If you can get in the park early at 4 pm before the party even starts, why can't the crowd who've paid to be there during the day buy party merchandise before having to leave before 7? Perhaps those using party tickets should be let in the gates but be held in the private shopping area until 7, when day guests must leave.

Because what's the point of party exclusive merchandise if it's not actually party exclusive?

I agree and also as an aside, probably to cut down on people who just buy the merchandise to turn around and resell it on eBay for a profit. This way it saves it for people who have paid for the party. At least you have to buy a place at the party to have access if you decide you want to buy and resell. Makes sense to me.

I agree too, if you haven't paid for the party you have no business buying merchandise for something you haven't paid for. It's not fair to those who paid for the exclusive party. But by that logic, it should also not be ok to get Fastpasses for attractions for the period from 4-7 when you haven't actually paid for that time. But many see no issue with taking advantage of that loophole in the system. If that is allowed, and merchandise goes on sale in the park at 4, everyone who has paid to be in the park at that time should be allowed to purchase.

Those are two different scenarios

FP are available to everyone with valid park admission - if Disney admits you at 4 on a party ticket, then the admission is valid
Party exclusive merchandise is available to those who have paid for party admission, not for those who happen to be in the park during a party.

It's an "Every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square" situation

Easy to accept that logic, if you're the square. But if 4 out of 5 of your vacation days are MNSSHP nights, and the budget only goes so far, not so easy to be the rectangle.

It's the other way around - party tickets are the square (valid entry + party entry) and everyone else is a rectangle (just valid entry)

But if you're buying merchandise, you only need to be square once.
Now if you want nighttime entertainment, that's a whole other thread

I went to the party last night and didn't see party exclusive merchandise. Maybe I just didn't know what to look for. But I really wanted one of those candy apple glasses! If I happen to find one and save my wristband, will they let me buy one (since it shows I did attend)?
