DD will be 8 and DS will be 6 when we attend the first Hallowe'en party on September 2. My son has autism, and staking out a spot for the parade an hour early just isn't going to happen. He can't wait in one spot that long.

I know with the regular parade you can often find spots close to parade time over in Frontierland. Is that possible for the Hallowe'en party? I expect the first party is going to be pretty crowded, but it was the only date we could make work.

Absolutely.
Remember that the party parade STARTS deep in Frontierland.

Also, if waiting is a problem, go to the second parade.
The crowd will be far, far less for that one.
Much easier to see with little or NO waiting if you go to Frontierland.

Awesome! thank you! I was getting scared because so many people were talking about needing to stake out a spot an hour in advance! Second parades is a great idea too...assuming I can keep him up that late!

It starts in Frontierland? Both 9pm parades we did in May started on Main Street.

electric light parade starts at main street, the other parades all start from the back. It has to do with getting main street empty first for people who are going to leave. All other parades go back to front, normally to keep the sun out of their eyes but also because they don't need main street to be clear earlier.

Does every MNSHP have two parades scheduled, ignoring weather that may result in cancellations?

Second parade has FAR less people, and requires less waiting. Also, if you want to grab a spot later on with less waiting, head to Town Square! We usually get there around the time the parade has already started in Frontierland, so there's a little bit of waiting for us, but not long before the horseman & creepa crew comes by first.
Also an ideal spot because you could keep occupied going to see Mickey, Tinkerbell, who ever is in the front of the park by city hall or exploring the shops for a bit while you "wait" There's also more light here so I prefer watching the parade from this end!

Hi Robo
Thanks for this great map/image! Very helpful. One question, what do the "crossover" arrows signify? Is this where the roped off line allows for moving to the other side? Or something else?
Just wonder every time I come across this map. :)

Each crossover is a place where guests can walk directly between Adventureland and Frontierland.

You'll note that Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin's Carpets, Tiki Room, and Jungle Cruise are in Adventureland.

Splash Mtn., Country Bears, Rivers of America and Diamond Horseshoe (and the Parade Route) are located in Frontierland.
