MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

My MNSSHP guide map from last year shows: Casey's, Plaza Ice Cream, Main Street Bakery, Pecos Bill's, Westward Ho, Frontierland Turkey Legs, Sleepy Hollow, Mrs. Potts' Cupboard, Cosmic Ray's, Lunching Pad, Auntie Gravity's...as the CS open.

That's right.

I just wanted everyone to know that these places are closed from 6:00p to 7:00p while the park is being emptied and prepared to re-open except one counter service that is in the land kept open for that hour. Last year it was Pecos Bills. Also, last year Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays were VERY crowded.

Hello! We do not do any parks the day of Not So Scary. Just a good character breakfast, and hang by the pool to rest up for the fun night!
Yes, I would say ALL if not MOST of the counter service restaurants are open. The first year we at at the hamburger place in Tomorrowland. Last year we had Turkey legs on the parade route. I would definitely NOT waste time sitting at Crystal Palace that night...unless you can get your ressie for EARLY. You can get in to eat around 5 and then be ready for the party right after. But if you dont want to go early, make Crystal Palace night a different night. As for the person with the LeCellier ressies...CHANGE THAT!
MNSS is DEFNITELY DEFINITELY worth doing. There is a limited amount of people and NO LINES!

Most people (moms and dads too) do dress up...not everyone tho, so you wont feel weird if you don't, but it is so cool to see all the costumes. Main street has "not so scary" halloween shadows on the building...orange and purple lights...even the parade is Halloween themed. It really is so fun.

The candy handout...well yes we got tons. I would think the candy companies like M & M Mars donate it all. There is some really good candy there :-) Both years the CMs gave us handfulls at each stop.

As for whether or not you get your tix at the gate...not sure...I ordered mine in advance both times. The first time was on Halloween night, and it DID sell out in advance. Even at sold out full capacity, we had NO LINES for rides! Really great!

LOVE THAT :cheer2: NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay. I called and managed to change my Le Cellier reservations to 4:30 on Friday the 29th. Here's our itinerary now-Epcot in the morning for a few rides and attractions, early light lunch at the food and wine booths, back to ASMo for a nap and swim, back to Epcot for dinner at LC and then on to MK for MNSSHP  . Do you all think I'm crazy? This is with a 3 year old and an 19 month old, too.

Girl-Do you work out??? That much runnin around would kill me!! :yay:

We had already decided that we wouldnt do any parks that day of the party. We too are going to wake up whenever and then hang out at the pool and have breakfast whenever and a lite lunch/snack and then off to Crystal Palace. I am calling tomorrow for a 4:15 or 4:30 adr so that will give us a good hour and a half...........we will need that with five kids. We plan on bringing the kids costumes and changing them after dinner during our wait time. I sooooooooooooooo can not wait to go!!!!!

for our first party we have an adr at ltt, and for the second we have an adr at chef mickeys (wanted the girls to do two different character meals)

We have sorted our costumes out, I am sally from nbc, Joely has chosen a witch bat costume with fibre optics from ebay (to the tume of $50) and jordan has chosen the wdw jasmine costume at $75 lol so we are all set

Isn't running around after two toddlers considered working out? :rotfl2: I'm not super Mom I just want to get our money's worth. We bought park tickets and got room reservations before I knew anything about MNSSHP. I really don't want to lose a day's ticket to the theme parks. We are resting up the day before by not going to any parks that day and just hanging out by the pool. Hopefully we can get everyone to bed early that night to rest up for the big day. If we ever get a chance to go back I will plan better. I don't want to miss the Halloween party. It sounds like so much fun. All of our other days will be a lot more laid back, so I'm hoping for the best on this one. Did I understand correctly that strollers are free during the party? Does that include the double ones? Maybe the kids can take a nap in the stroller if they get too tired. If they start getting grumpy, we'll just chalk it up as a learning experience and go back to the room. Maybe they'll make it through the first parade and fireworks at least.

We got our tickets yesterday! We're driving up the day of the party (2 hour drive) and staying at WL. We intend to just hang out at the hotel all day. We have an ADR at Tony's Town Square at 5:00pm so that should work out well I hope. The next day I'm not going to plan for anything in the morning and we'll just play it by ear, which is so not what I usually do!

I can't believe I am worried about Halloween costumes in May! I can't see me or DH wanting to dress up, but we will probably get some Halloween t-shirts some place. Any ideas? I'm having a problem with my DD(3) princess: who says she wants to be Harry Potter :rotfl2: . She would make a beautiful Ariel and already has the long red hair. I guess we could compromise and she could go as Ginny Weasley, but I don't even know if you can get Hogwarts robes that small. I would like her and DS(19 months in Sept.) to match somewhat, also. What are we going to do?

This will be our first MNSSHP! I have a couple of questions if someone could answer them for me. Trip is booked and in the next couple of weeks I will be able to pay it off in full. I haven't been able to order my MNSSHP tix yet due to no xtra moola right now. Also the same day of the party is my DD princess: B-day. I have ADR's for Chef Mickey's for her B-Day Dinner. The MNSSHP is going to be a surprise and I don't want to tell her until dinner that we are going. Now for my questions.

1. Will I still be able to get MNSSHP tix for 9/29 in the next couple of weeks?
2. With this being a surprise can anyone give me ideas for a surprise costume for her to wear?

Thanks!!

We have ADR's for LTT at 4:30 PM. Will the characters be dressed up at that time with costumes?

Yes they will :thumbsup2

Can you get tix at the gate the night of the party? We'll be at WDW Sept.27-Oct.5, but I can't get my DH to commit to going to MNSSHP. I thought maybe when we're there he'll decide to go ( he's always wanting to do things at the last minute-drives me crazy)!!

Yes, you can get them at the gate - that's of course if they're still available but if you're not fussy about which night you go you'll have two choices - Sept 29 and 2 October so they might have availability for one of the nights if not both. The only thing is that it will cost more to buy them at the gate - the advance purchase price is approx. 6 dollars cheaper per ticket (except for the last 3 parties at the end of October). Perhaps the money-saving benefit would get your DH to commit to going and you could go ahead and buy the tickets. ;)

From everything I've read, there is no immediate panic about buying the tickets. Of course, no-one can predict for sure. The first party (and the last 2 or 3) are apparently very popular. Sept 29th was originally the first one but now there's two more before that so that takes the pressure off you a bit! We're not buying ours yet either (budgetary issues  ) and we're hoping to go on Oct 30th or 31st but I'm optimistic that we'll get them in a few weeks.

As for your DD's costume, who's her favourite Disney character? Perhaps watch some Disney movies over the next few weeks and months and try to gauge her reactions to the different characters and costumes. Keep an eye on DisneyOutlet.com. - click here for the link and also there's a big range (and some great reductions) at buycostumes.com - click here

Hope that helps! It's fun planning it isn't it?! :)

Just got off the phone with WDW and ordered our MNSSHP tickets for Oct 19th. This will be a very first for us. Can't wait...... :woohoo:
