MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

Well, I thought I had an original idea for my family theme of Peter Pan, but it doesn't look that way! :)

Oh well...of those of you that are doing this, including Wendy, do you have pictures of your Wendy outfit? Or where will you get it? I don't really want to wear a nightgown, but I guess you could find something that was appropriate. Any ideas for that??

Thanks!

My mom sews and she made my Wendy costume for me out of this wonderfully soft satin material. Kids and DH have their costumes from the Disney store. I have seen Wendy costumes online. Ebay had a place that made costumes to order last year. Can't remember the name of the company, but she did have Wendy gowns that were quite nice. And for the heat, it was in the 90's in 2004 at the end of October, so it can still be quite warm. My DD had the tank top Ariel dress that year, and was just fine without a shirt under it. Poor DS was Buzz that year and refused to take off that vinyl costume all night even though he had the shorts Buzz pjs on. He had to be roasting. LOL!!

We're going on the 17th and 26th! :cheer2:

We'll have to pick up our tickets at Will Call (we're from Scotland and were told they are not shipping tickets internationally anymore! ).

Can anyone tell me about the information on the letter received along with the tickets? I've heard there won't be a free photo this year but there will be a special offer with PhotoPass. :confused3

Still trying to work out who I'll "be" at the party! :teeth:

Thank you Raevyn Wolfe! :teeth:

We'll just have to wait and see what the deal is this time around, since they are not mentioning photos at all this year!

Last time we went, DD was asleep, so we really wanted a good picture of us as a family with the Halloween background! :rotfl2:

you know, strangely enough that's what my husband says I should do, I'll have to tell him someone else thought it would be cute too.

Also, to the two other posters, thanks for the advice as I went ahead and changed my ADR to 5:45 from 6:30. Ofourse I had to go through the whole, "no the latest ADR you can make is not 4:25, check again", thing all over again, but the CM finally figured it out. :)

Not sure if this has been suggested yet, but what about Pacha's wife (from Emporer's New Groove)? That was the first character that I could think of that is actually pregnant.

WOW, good Disney recall, and after much much thinking I thought of a pregnant Disney character myself too. "Darling" from Lady and the Tramp, although you never actually really see her.
I dunno, I'm leaning close to smee cause it would go with my son, I just need to convince dh to go as hook. :rotfl:
but thank you for thinking of me. :teeth:

What time can we get our tickets from will-call? Will they be there all day, or would we have to wait until the official party time?

We are going on October 24. I am trying to make us all basketball players, as my dear b-i-l agreed to that as a costume. Bu I cannot find any basketball iron ons at the stores around here. Can someone suggest an on-line store I might try?

This will be our 2nd Mnsshp and I am soooo excited!

Here's an idea for a character that you could certainly do with a big belly...how about TweedleDee & TweedleDum?? This would be so cute & probably not that expensive to do. You may have an easier time convincing him to be Hook, but that was just an idea! :thumbsup2

If anyone's still looking to buy a disney-themed costume, disney shopping has a few on clearance.

I got the minnie mouse, have been watching it since last halloween for $19.99, free shipping w/coupon codes!

It came the other day...was afraid I'd look really stupid but, even DH sez it's awfully cute. I was surprised how well it was, 3 layers for the skirt - very comfortable.:thumbsup2

If you see a rather large, blonde minnie on 10/12 - promise not to laugh!

I went for the first time last year with my sister. We had a blast. I am thinking taking my nephew down this year. (4 yrs old) He loves Halloween and Disney...much like me

My sister in law went to a halloween party very pregant one year and was stumped on a costume until my nephew told her to go as a fish bowl.......she bought a big white tshirt and cut a hole in the center to expose most of her stomach and then her hubby painted the outline of a fish bowl and fish complete with a atreasure chest and gravel bottom . She looked really cute!!! Ok, I know its not a Disney costume, but is sure would be different.

I still cant convince my hubby to dress up, so for now my back up plan is for us grown ups to have all matching t shirts or something. Oh well..........

How does the trick o treating work? Where do you go to trick o treat and what kind of candy do they give out - Mickey candy ? :woohoo:

Also are there any spooky parts to the party? My dd turns 4 during our trip and she is excited about the party but asked if it would be spooky. I told her the evil queen would be there and she wasn't concerned about that. I think she is concerned about the scarey part of Halloween - the ghouls, ghosts, stuff like that.

Thanks!

We just made a last minute decision to take my nephews (12, twins) up on the 20th for the party and we're really looking forward to it. Even though I messed up the reservations and we ended up going on the 19th!

Last year we picked ours up almost a week in advance.

Not so Scary is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO WORRIES as far as "scary" things..it really truly is "not scary". We have been two years in a row and will continue the tradition because it is so great! The halloween decorations are GREAT! Big pumpkins with mickey ears out front last year... The parade is re-done halloween style... Trick or treating is so fun...we got TONS AND TONS of candy. No need to bring your own trick or treat bag, they give you disney themed ones for freeeeeeeeee! NO LINES in the park is fabulous. Private party makes for MUCH LESS crowds. Last year we went beginning of Oct...the year prior we went on Halloween night, and STILL had no lines. Both times it was HOT. Keep that in mind when planning your costume. The first year we were the Buzz/Woody/Bullseye/Jessie family...and had to revamp my long jessie pants last minute to shorts because it was just way too hot. last year we were Pirates. planned ahead with tank tops and shorts.
For the person who wants to be Wendy...we Peter Pan one year and I did wear a blue nightgown as wendy. Put a big white bow in my hair. It was very simple. I think this year we will be going first weekend in October. Have to start thinking costumes..... :-) Any more questions on MNSSHP I will try to help! I love it!!!!

Subscribing... we have tickets in hand for the 10/23 party. Our kids will be so excited and surprised! :cheer2:

Thanks for the tips! I still don't understand where exactly do you go to trick o treat? Are stations set up around the park?
