What do you get included in the package price? I've seen a few posts around where brides are waiting for 3 years before buying a CD - is there a reason for waiting so long?

the package includes a 12 print 5"x7" photo album, 4"x6" prints of the pictures taken and a proof book. The hi-res CD is $750 by itself unless you upgrade your photography to include it. By waiting 3 years, you can buy it for about 1/2 price, i think I've seen some people paid $395.

The "after 3 years" price of the disc of images is now $500, but it's still less than the $750–$1,000 you'll pay to buy it right away. The only people who automatically get it free are UK Escape couples—everyone else pays either a la carte or as part of a Disney wedding photography package. If you do buy a Disney photo package it is possible to get the disc free or at a reduced price by giving up all of the printed products that come with the package.

Huh? What'd you ask for because I couldn't get them to give it to me at all unless I paid the $750. I offered to give up the prints, album, and proof book for the CD but no dice.

Correct. Only Escape UK couples get the disc for free.

I'd like to know this, too. We were told the cheapest we could get the CD for was $400, and that's only if we had Disney photograph our VR with a 6-hour package and gave up everything included in that package so that we could have a $600 "credit" towards the CD, taking it from $1000 down to $400. There's nothing in the MK shoot package that you can exchange ... you *have* to take the prints and if you want the shots on CD, you gotta pay for it.

What's up with all these different prices??

What's up with all these different prices??

They have all these different formulas for figuring the price out depending on whether you use Disney for your event and which package you buy. The Romance package requires the $400 extra and giving up all products. With the 8-hour Dreams package you can get the disc by giving up all products and paying $200. If you spring for the 10-hour Enchanted Rose package you get the disc free by giving up the products (or you can keep the products and get a disc of lo-res images—confusing!).

And then there are all the upgraded Escape photo packages at different price points too!

My theory is that the money they make on the Escape packages is not enough to justify the cost of shipping the disc and any products to the UK after the fact. So they get all the prints and products ready for UK Escape couples before they leave Florida.

Who are you working through? I worked with an older woman I forget her name but I am getting the entire package and she is throwing in the CD for 350.00. I wanted the CD to do my own prints so that was awesome deal for us! I would definitely call and see if they can work something out with you as well!

Oh, you made it seem like you got it free. I thought you traded in/negotiated for the CD to be included with the MK shoot price. Sorry I guess I misunderstood.

My wedding has long passed and I've already gotten my album and proofs in the mail. I don't think I can negotiate at all at this point.

From what I understand (and this is everything I read in passporters & from Lurkeyloo) you can indeed get it at a discounted price but you have to give up prints/albums. I am planning a wishes wedding and I talked with the photography people and I was told that the two smaller albums in the package (we are looking at the big package) are worth $300 each and that the big album is $500 (I think, I cant remember this price because I know that we are going to give up the two smaller ones and pay $400 for the disk). I don't think its a "lets make a deal" situation, its more like what can you swapped out from the package you are buying. The photography lady told me that each piece has a price and can be swapped. HTH

That's very interesting... and definitely a dealbreaker if you want to make bigger prints! I'd check directly with the Escape wedding contact at Disney Fine Art Photography before giving up hope, but it could very well be a way to drive upgrades to the newish Cinderella packages they offer for Escape wedding photography.

I was an Escape bride in November 2010 and was given a disc of images and as far as I'm aware they are high resolution. Well I made a photo book using my pictures and one of the MK ones we blew up to the full A4 size page and it looks great! When I've loaded the pictures onto sites for printing etc. they've always come up as high quality too.

I did not exchange anything and was able to get it for 350, I think I worked with Karen she is very nice and if you don't demand it I am sure she would give you the same deal...
