~*~ Mindyjoy's May 19 2012 Disneyland Wedding TR ~*~ Trip Report Has Begun!

I love both 2 and 5! There are so many gorgeous dresses out there that it's hard to choose, because you want to pick what's exactly right. I only tried on about 5 dresses, and sometimes I wish I had tried more. But on the other hand, that might have made the decision even harder!

Yes, I think I'm making it too hard on myself.

11 MONTHS!!!!

Yesterday I hit up a couple Joann stores after dress shopping and I hit the FABRIC JACKPOT.

I found this super awesome ombre peachy satin on sale for $3.99/yard. I searched and searched for a similar fabric in pink but couldn't find it.

This matching organza was $1.99/yard.

Both of these also have little glitter specks in them. SQUEEEEEEEE!

I also found some remnants: fuchsia satin, white organza with glitter specks, and orange glittery tulle.

Pink and ivory lace for $1.99 a roll.

I also bought some ribbon for my ribbon veil although I might return these, since I'm not sure it's such a good idea to be buying stuff for my veil when I'm not sure what color my dress will be yet. :confused3

I love the first dress and thought it looked beautiful on you. I know that photos can be deceptive, but I did not think that your hips looked big in this at all. I also love the second dress. Still, none of them are as pretty as the pink dresses that you posted the other day. I can’t wait to see what dress you are ultimately going to choose.

I LOVE the Reema on you! I think it is super flattering and also I really like the mix of detailing.

I love Reema and Mystic! I think they both look beautiful on you!!
Good deal on all the fabric! And I love the colors!!!

I love fabric! I just wish I could make cool stuff with it. Do you know exactly what you're going to use it for yet? It looks beautiful.

Blast! I am behind! Okay first of all I think your hips look great in the first dress, but I understand your reluctance to want to show them off, for I'm also a hippy girl. I think the Naomi is beautiful on you, but I also really like mystic too. I don't think your going to be the impossible bride. I think it's hard if your not really the big poofy white dress type or even the flowy long white dress type that you just feel rediculous in most anything out there and its just going to take a bit more looking then normal to find something beautiful as well as something you feel comfortable in. Either way you look beautiful in all of them! :thumbsup2

Just popping in to say I LOVE the Naomi!!!!

Thanks, me too!

I can't wait either ... lol!

I agree, it's very pretty ... just not sure it's the one ....

Thanks! I showed DF my fabric and he said, "that's a pretty pink." So, so much for making his bout out of that fabric. :lmao: (DF said he'll wear whatever but NO PINK.)

Thanks! The plan right now is to make flowers out of it - bouquet, bout, corsages, centerpieces(?), whatever else I can think of.

Thanks for catching up! :hippie: You are right, it is really difficult for me to see myself in fluffy white gowns, or anything fancy for that matter. I am not a fancy-pants formal dress girl! But thank you for the kind words.

If you've been reading my PJ for a while then you know I'm in love with the Maggie dress, Dallas Marie.

There is a "real bride" on that page, the last one on the list, Simela. I just LOVE how the dress looks on her and since I saw this photo I've been desperate to find it. Since it's an older dress it has been difficult.

Well, I spent my lunch hour today calling almost every store on the MS website within a 50 mile radius from my apartment, and I found TWO stores that have it, although both have it in white while I am looking for the gold. But hey, at this point, I'll take what I can get!

The first store is in Downtown LA and it has TERRIBLE reviews. I'm slightly skeptical because the consultant who answered had a very thick Spanish accent and basically said yes to everything I said without putting me on hold to look anything up.

Me: "Hi, I'm looking for a specific dress, Dallas Marie?"
Shop: "Dallas Marie, yes we have it."
Me (shocked, since the last 20 shops I called didn't have it): "You do? Really?"
Shop: "Yes."
Me: "It's the one with the little pink bow under the bust area?"
Shop: "Pink bow, yes."
Me: "Ooookay."

So I think I will go on Saturday to see if they actually do have it.

The second store is in Orange, CA, which is near Disneyland, which is great because I'm going there on Sunday to meet with a potential photographer! BUT, the shop isn't open on Sunday, booooo! Which means I will have to either make two trips to the OC this weekend or go another time. Le sigh.

But at least I found two shops that (allegedly ) have it for me to try on!

Do you think you could call the shop near DL and see if they can open specifically for you? Sometimes if you explain to them your situation and that you will be traveling they will open up just for you and for an alotted amount of time? It's worth a try!

So excited for you! She really is a gorgeous dress.. and I think it just SCREAMS Mindy! Like seriously screams it, more than any other dress I've seen you in. *Fingers, eyes, nose, toes, elbows, legs, everything crossed*

I hope you can find that dress and try it on! It is really beautiful, and looks like it would be perfect for you. Hopefully this solves your dress worries!

Ahhhhhhhhhh, I'm glad you like it! I would feel weird asking them to open just so I could try on one dress ... especially since the shop is too far away to actually order from them. If I like the dress I'll order it from the awesome consultant who helped me last weekend.

Thanks so much! Now I just have to try and be patient and wait all the way until SATURDAY to try it on! Ugh! :headache:

Ahhhh, I see! Welll definitely let us know what happens on Saturday then!

On the site were you talking about the bride from NJ?? ;D lol

I don't know if you dig the tea length or anything a little bit more retro but on my wedding dress internet searching this morning I ran across this and thought of you.

Its called Josephine by Stephanie James Couture

I am glad you found some places that stock the dress. The dress is beautiful and I absolutely love it. I hope that you still like it when you are trying it on.
