Mickey'sApprentice 40th bday - W/PICS!!- Complete

Ok, now we are up to Thursday morning. This was an incredible day.

We started out at Kona. I got the Tonga toast while Dh got the French toast. The fresh fruit served in the pineapple was tempting though.

Here is Dh's french toast

Here is my Tonga Toast. (I'd already started cutting it up.)

We had stayed up pretty late the night before, and we had to be at the bus stop at 7:15. I say that because I about fell asleep in my Tonga Toast. (He he). I had no idea that I would get another birthday surprise. As we were finishing breakfast, someone asked if it would be ok to celebrate my birthday. Why sure! Soooo.....
I was presented a wonderful creme puff...stuffed with chocolate with either a vanilla or lemon creme topping, AND whipped cream. It was delicious.

The cream puff had Lilo & Stich at the top and Happy Birthday at the bottom in chocolate. Wow!

It was so special, and again, unexpected. I think the unexpected surprises are the biggest part about what made this trip so completely magical.

Anyway, it was on to the Magic Kingdom. I was a little worried about this. MK had been so crowded on Tuesday. Our bus from Boardwalk was full at 7:15 AM!! All seats were filled with BW people, the folks from the Dolphin had to stand, and we didn't stop at the Swan. We figured out that we had planned MK on an EMH day. Great, we make MK in time for EMH and we have a resort ADR. :confused3 (I'm sure there was a well laid plan in there somewhere.)
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We got to MK a little after 9am, and the park was still manageable. (Thank goodness.)

We saw Daisy close to Tony's, and then saw the dancers do the Main Street show. I've not really seen this in detail before. Its pretty cool.

We then headed into Tomorrowland. We had much more success than on Tuesday. We started with Monsters

2009WDWTrip067-1.jpg

then Buzz..
2009WDWTrip068-1.jpg

We saw this guy:

We then did Carousel of Progress and TTA.

We headed over to see the bears. Our touring was pretty screwed up due to the crowds on Tuesday. We got a FP for Jungle Cruise and headed to the Country Bears.

2009WDWTrip093-2.jpg

I have some real nostalgia for the Country Bears. It was the only ride that I remembered from my trip as a 4 year old.

We then headed to our ADR at the Plaza. We had originally planned this meal for Friday, but had decided to do something different on Friday. We always eat at the Plaza on our last trip to MK. Its our tradition. On our honeymoon, we ate CS until we were sick of it. On our last day, we splurged and ate at The Plaza.

I had a burger and Dh had a turkey sandwich. We had a big breakfast, and I cut my burger in half from the get go. Dh ate his sandwich and the other half of mine. As we finished, we got surprised, again. We got a cupcake again. It was wonderful again. The waitress took our picture, but I don't want to post it. The cupcake had a really cool orange citrus frosting. It was really good, again. I L-O-V-E the pixie dust that kept happening over and over and over again.

Thanks for the trippie!! I been thinking about times of the year to go in the future when it is just DW and I going and I think I've decided a good time would be our birthdays! She is early March and I am early November.

Great trip report so far!

Isn't spending your birthday at Disney Magical???

I've spent my 30th bday there a few years ago, and before we moved to AL, we lived in FL and always went for DS's birthdays! It is so nice to get the special surprises, the birthday wishes from the CM's and other guests!!! DH and I had a Disneymoon there 2 years ago and wore the bride and groom hats and loved the special attention as well.

You have some great pictures!! It gets me excited for our week long stay in May/June!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!!:goodvibes

Thanks for the wonderful comments. Photobob, I think Disney for birthdays are a wonderful idea, especially this year.

Goofygal, I hope you like Bham, I know its not WDW.

OK, here we go...I hope to finish this up.

We returned to MK later on...

I had some fun with these guys. I told Chip that he was my favorite. Of course, that made Dale made...so I told Dale that he was my favorite. It seemed to cause quite the stir. Luckily, they decided to share.

After taking the picture with Chip and Dale, I ran off with this guy.

Here are more pictures of the castles.

We then saw Rafiki from afar.

We rode the Jungle Cruse and saw this guy. Its alright to look. He has his trunk on. (Arr Arr Arr)
2009WDWTrip017-5.jpg

We headed on to our ADR at O'hana. Wow! Next time, I won't eat lunch!!

We started with salad.
2009WDWTrip025-4.jpg

We then had the Honey Chicken Wings.
2009WDWTrip023-4.jpg

and then the pot stickers.
2009WDWTrip024-4.jpg

then noodles and broccolli
2009WDWTrip026-4.jpg

2009WDWTrip027-4.jpg

We then got Turkey, Pork, Steak, & Shrimp that was carried around on long skewers. Each of these had a very good sauce to go with it. Mmmmm.....

We sat near the open flames.
2009WDWTrip029-4.jpg

We then had dessert. Dh had requested a diabetic menu. The chef came out to ask about accommodations. Dh said that he would be ok with a sugar free dessert. (He really didn't need to eat the honey chicken or the sauces for the meat.) Anyway... he got this delectable dessert. It was an apple crisp. He said it was great, and it looked great.
2009WDWTrip031-4.jpg

I had the traditional bread pudding, vanilla ice cream, and Bananas Fosters Sauce. I was already stuffed, but couldn't stop myself from eating it. OMG!

This picture doesn't do it justice.

We headed back to MK and waited for Wishes. Here are a few pics.

Dh is carefully deflating the balloons. What a metaphor? He said I know you don't want to see this. :sad1: I don't!!
.

So, as he was deflating the balloons did he take the nozzel and pull it apart so it would make that farting noise? I know I can't resist doing that.

"I think the unexpected surprises are the biggest part about what made this trip so completely magical."

That's so true! :goodvibes

Fun pictures, I'm drooling over the 'Ohana wings!! Love them!

No he was really sweet. I didn't hear a thing.

I about cried over it, actually.

As for the wings, I didn't eat many because I was trying to pace myself. It didn't work. I ate myself sick.

I'm really enjoying your trip report - thanks for sharing the magic with us!

Just a couple more pics from our last day. While DW finished getting ready to vacate the room, I went back to the studios for a bit of unfinished business.

Being Mickey's Apprentice, I had to see the boss before I left. Here is the picture of me with the boss.

2009WDWTrip109-2.jpg

Anyway, after my meeting with the boss, DW met me at the studios' boat dock. We then went to Epcot and ate lunch at the Fish & Chips counter service in the UK pavillion. We then ate dessert at Beaches & Cream. We each got a sundae as shown below.

2009WDWTrip119-3.jpg

While we were there, 2 guys got a kitchen sink.

2009WDWTrip121-2.jpg

We saw Art the greeter while at the Beach Club. We didn't get a picture of him but he seemed to be doing well. We had a nice conversation with 2 DVC cast members at the DVC booth in the Beach Club lobby. We then went back to the Boardwalk. I got one last coffee at the bakery to finish off our last snack credit. While I was drinking it some seagulls decided to model for us.

Anyway, it was then time to get our carry-on and laptop and say our good-byes. I got one last pic from the Boardwalk as we left.

2009WDWTrip133-3.jpg

We then said bye for now to our Disney Home.

2009WDWTrip104-3.jpg

We made it back to Atlanta but were so tired that we stayed at the Atlanta Airport Mariott that night and went home the next day. We hope you enjoyed our trip report.

Thank you for the wonderful report. We were lucky enough to get BWV ressies at 7 mos for August. Love our SSR but can't wait to try BWV since my DH's favorite parks are Epcot and DHS. We both have enjoyed your pics, helping us make it to August.

Thank you again for your wonderful trip report and the great pictures. It was nice coming along with you guys.

Glad you made it home safe too.

Thank you for your trip report with all the pictures!

:goodvibes

Thanks for sharing the trip with all of us. I am happy you made it to your "other" home safely. :goodvibes

Thanks everybody for the wonderful replies.

This really was the most magical vacation that I've ever had. It really made turning 40 delightful.

We did come home with an awful case of addonitis! :scared1: I think we are actually going to do it. Dh is calling our guide now.

Dh is adament that we only need 50 more points, but with those APs, I could see 100 more doing a nice job. I might enjoy a cruise, and well...the kitchenette leaves something to be desired in the BLT studios.

Anyway, with 100 BWV points and 50 BLT points, we'll be able to stay in a 1 bdrm BWV every other year, and in a studio at BLT every other year, or...do split stays between BLT and BWV each year.

Somebody help me!!! I've resisted as long as I can!!! We have always loved The Contemporary Resort!!! Will I be able to stop at just one add-on??
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Funny timing too...its Dh's Birthday today!!! I guess that kind of makes up for my birthday spectacular, and purchase of annual passes.

We get to go to Disney EVERY year, stay at the best locations, with fantastic views...We DO live a charmed life.

MA,

Thanks for the report. It's always enjoyable to see others pictures and reports.

I do have a question though. Why do y'all fly to Orlando? You make a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive to ATL, sit and wait on a plane, 2 hour flight to MCO and then a bus ride to the resort. Couldn't you drive down and get there faster than the flight?

We live about an hour up the interstate in Auburn and the trip takes us an average of 6 1/2 hours, including stops.

The Kitchen Sink looks so delicious! How many could it feed? 4,6,8??? And how much is it?

:goodvibes
:thumbsup2Awesome report!! I read it straight thru!

You took some really detailed shots.

Happy belated birthday and let us know how you cured your addonitis;)
