Thanks everybody!
I am so enjoying all the Happy Birthdays! I'm getting lots of well wishes from home, Disney, and the DIS. Yippee!!
I know you are all looking forward to the big day, but I've still got to post Monday, March 23rd.
Patience everyone. This next part is really good.
We went to sleep with this:
and awoke to:
As we walked to Cape May, we passed a male CM working on SAB. He took DH to the side. As he whispered, Dh kept nodding up and down, and then finally answered, "I'll make sure to do that. Thank You." Ok, that's the mystery. What is that all about? Hmmm. I guess y'all will find out with my next installment huh.
Next up, we headed to Cape May and had breakfast.
Well into breakfast, Minnie and our server came out with a cupcake with a lit candle in it. The restaurant sang Happy Birthday and then Minnie helped me blow out the candle. (The picture didn't turn out.)
Here is a picture of the cupcake and the card signed by Minnie, Goofy, and Donald.
It was really special, and was a big highlight of the trip.
We also spoke to Goofy and Donald. They both wished me a Happy B'day in their own special way. Donald asked if I were 21 by holding up 3 fingers. I asked Donald what he had done with those naughty chipmunks. He motioned that he had given them the boot, and that he was working the Cape May angle now.
Afterwards, we headed to Disney Hollywood Studios.
Our day went really, really well.
We headed off to Toy Story Mania and got our fast pass for 12:45. We then walked right on Great Movie Ride, American Idol, the Muppets, and One Man's Dream. We ate Backlot Express, and got back to Toy Story Mania about 1pm. I thought we did great.
Here is the billboard for the Jonas Brothers movie. I though my niece would enjoy that.
Here are some displays in the Great Movie Ride.
Here is a costume from Narnia.
Here are some displays from "One Mans Dream"
Mary Poppins Dress
Here is a display about the new "23" fan club. I thought you DISSERS could examine what all was in this display. Hmmm.
I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed the American Idol experience. I admit, I haven't watched American Idol much. I enjoy it when I watch, its just that I don't keep up with the contestants and don't form favorites. All three contestants did a fabulous job, and I was really impressed with the quality of the sets, etc.
Here are a few other good pics from DHS.
Mater:
The Muppets
and the big hat.
Here is DH's Turkey sandwich from Backlot Express.
He said it was good. It was definitely unique.
Oh, it was our first ride on Toy Story Mania. Wow! That was awesome. My score was about 60k and Dh got about 100k.
We also found a great place back close to Toy Story Mania that had great Disney Art and collectibles.
Afterwards, we headed back to the room for a bit before heading over to Epcot for Dinner.
We had enough time to catch British Invasion in the UK pavillion.
They were doing the Sgt. Pepper's set. I had no idea that they did anything besides the early 60s set.
We then headed over to Rose & Crown. After a few minutes they showed us to our table. It was inside the tent type area, but we were still able to see Illuminations when they pulled the sides up.
Dh had Lamb 2 ways
I had the Surf & Turf.
It was pretty good.
For dessert, I had the Celebration Chocolate Cake
Dh had the sugar free trifle.
Illuminations were fantastic! I love watching fireworks from Rose & Crown.
We headed back to Boardwalk and got a good night's sleep. We knew that tomorrow (Tues. 3/24) would be the big day.
