Hi Everyone! We are going to MVMCP on Tues. Dec 13th. We have some golfers on our group and they were wanting to play that morning, come back and rest, shower and then go to MVMCP that night. For those of you that have been before, is this too much for one day? Do you think they will be too tired and worn out to last during the party? Yes, these are adult males I am talking about, but I want to make sure the party is fun for all and we don't have any cranky dads or grandfathers in the group! Any advice would be great! Thanks! :earsboy:

No, I don't think that would be too much for the guys.

Thanks for all the tips! Can't believe a 'Bama grad such as myself is getting good and sound advice from a LSU Tiger! (I'd do a ROTFLMAO smilie but it isn't working!)

haaa! Well, you can trust us LSU alumni and fans to always have great advice on having a good time any way you cut it. We're experts at that!

AMEN to that!!! Baton Rouge is a wild and FUN place to visit for a game. BTW, I actually like LSU... now ORANGE SEC schools are a whole 'nother story!

I just spoke to a reservationist that said there were plenty of tickets to Mickey's party.. but I told him I had changed my mind about them.. Well about five minutes later I changed my mind again and now this reservationst says they are sold out.
I'm bummed :(

Sold out already? What night (or nights)?

We are going the first week of december. I haven't purchased my tickets yet. Should I be worried?
I take it that Liberty Tree is the place to be? I had lunch there on my last trip and it was FABULOUS! Do they have a special dinner for the holidays?

:wizard: wow what a great thread!

We just booked our trip for November 30th thru December 6th, and booked our tickets for the CHristmas party for December 1st! I am soooo excited

This trip will be our "family Honeymoon" as we are getting married on September 17th and taking our regular honeymoon to Ireland for 2 weeks and leaving my 7 yr old son at home with grandma and grandpa. So to make up for this,,,,, we said we would " make the sacrifice" :rotfl2: and take Noah to WDW at Christmas for our "family honeymoon".

Noah and I went last year to WDW for his first trip and stayed at the Wilderness lodge for 12 glorious days and went to MNSSHP and had a blast! :earboy2:

I have always wanted to go to WDW at Christmas combining my 2 most favorite things in the world....Disney and Christmas!!

What is the weather like there at Christmas time? Is it very rainy or cold?

We are from the Chicago area, so we are still wearing shorts when the temp is at 40F. SO cold is probably relative.

Does the temp drop at night, where we will need warm clothes? Like jeans and coats?

ALso, has anyone been to the candlelight procession at Epcot? WHat was that like?

WOW!!! We cant wait for our trip!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the info in advance!!

:bride:

Congratulations on your "family honeymoon" coming up in December. I am sure you will have a GREAT TIME. This is our first time down in Disney during Christmas time too and we are so looking forward to it.
Everyone says that the weather is really hit or miss during that time ... to dress in layers.

(p.s. Mt. Prospect ... we use to play you in football ... I am originally from Schaumburg ... it is a small world after all. :cheer2: )

Congrats on your marriage! You're getting married on my birthday! Anyway, I don't know about early December, but I know that during late Dec. it gets pretty chilly, especially at night. But it was also quite warm somedays too. You just kind of have to bring all sorts of clothes.

As for the Candlelight Processional, go to http://allearsnet.com/tp/h_cpfaq.htm It has all the narrators and info about the dinner packages and whatnot. It will help answer all your questions about it.

Have a great trip!

This is my arrival date also!!! But I leave on the 4th. Anyway...this is the most wonderful time to visit WDW. We were there for Thanksgiving last year and the weather was perfect....80's in the day, low humidity, and low 60's-high 50-'s at night. Perfect for those of us from up north. And do try to see CP. It is one of my must-do's during the holidays in WDW. Very moving and beautiful. Oh, and by the way...Welcome to the DIS boards...you're going to love it here..it gets to be somewhat addictive.

I wouldn't wait much longer because the CM I spoke with told me they were selling out quickly. He also said that the dates closest to Christmas go fastest (like the 20th!) .. so you'll probably be alright for a little while longer at least.
One thing I hadn't thought about that he pointed out was that with the Happiest Celebration on Earth going on people are doubling up to come to it AND enjoy Christmas at the world, sorta like a 2-for-1 type of thing. He said that all the tickets to special events have been selling out faster than they have in previous years.

I ordered our tickets for MVMCP for Dec 13th about a week ago and the CM told me they couldn't mail them out, because I would have to show my AP and an ID at guest relations. I noticed alot of you have already received your tickets in the mail. Was the CM wrong or is it only AP holders that must show their APs and ID in order to get the tickets? I even tried to give him my AP# over the phone and he told me he still wasn't allowed to send them out, because I had to show ID, as well as an AP.

Funny thing is, he noticed on his screen that I was also going to be down there in Sept and told me I could pick them up then. He did tell me to be sure and bring my confirmation number for the tickets though.

We are AP holders and I was told the same thing. So I picked up our MVMCP tickets at MK Guest Relations on our May trip. :) Apparently, the CM's were not supposed to mail out AP holders tickets, some of them were misinformed in the early days when the tickets were on sale... So, your CM was correct!

Funny thing when I picked them up, I had my ID, AP and confirmation # in hand ready to show, and the only thing she took from me was the confirmation #! I guess I looked trustworthy?! lol

You can get into the VMCP at 5 pm - atleast we were able to last year. They don't tell you this when you get the tickets, but they told us in guest relations when we made dinner reservations for the castle. Between 6 and 7 when they are exiting the park, those with VMCP wrist bands can stay. Enjoy!

Here is a great website I've used while planning. No matter what someone tells..you are absolutely right! Cold is relative.

http://www.wunderground.com/

Anyhow, if you type in Orlando and then go to trip planner it will ask for your dates. Then it will give you historical temps and the percentage chances of weather occurances (such as hot, freezing, raining, ect.). Hope you find it helpful!

Cool!! Thanks! I saved it to my favorites! It looks like the weather should be perfect 60-70 and very little precipitaion!!! We will probably come home to snow!

THanks again!

I have a question for all you Christmas-time experts...The televised Christmas parade-is that usually the taped the first weekend of December? If so, should I avoid the MK because of it or it something that can be worked around? Just needing advice and opinions from those who have been! TIA!

Sorry if this has already been asked!!

Thanks, Mini Q! Great pics Angey77! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to go and see it all!! I think I'm more excited than DD! :earsboy:
