Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

I have a question for all you Christmas-time experts...The televised Christmas parade-is that usually the taped the first weekend of December? If so, should I avoid the MK because of it or it something that can be worked around? Just needing advice and opinions from those who have been! TIA!

Sorry if this has already been asked!!

As a general rule avoiding MK on Saturdays is a good idea. But if you really want to go, you will probably find that away from Main Street the crowds are manageable. This was my experience a couple years ago when I ended up in MK on the Sunday morning of the first weekend when taping continued over from Saturday.

It's usually being taped all day on the first Saturday in December at MK. Main Street is insane and the rest of the park is like a typical Saturday.

They tape it all day long...they do not let anyone except those already lining the parade route stop. They are down right rude about it. There was NO stopping to look. Those waiting along the parade route wait there all day long. It can get pretty tiring/boring.

Try to call again because they still show that date available online. :earsgirl:

I did and I got tickets! :teeth: :goodvibes :sunny: (I think those faces express my mood quite well!)

I spoke to an excellent CM.. anyone know if there is a way to commend these CM's to Disney?
I'm a customer service rep for Expedia and I know we get special rewards if a customer says something good about us- so I'd love to be able to do something for this guy!

Are all restaurants and counter service at MK open during the MVMCP? If not, how do I find which are?

Thanks. :)

Please can someone help me, I have read through pages of posts and finally rang the number to call disney from the UK, 0870 24 24 900 and spoke to a very helpful CM who told me I couldnt buy tickets for the MVMCP direct from her that they were only available for US residents but I could try getting them through a retailer in the UK. Now I have searched and searched but cant find a UK seller for these tickets......

can anyone whi has bought them advise me how to go about it? Thanks in advance!! Oh will be there from 1st Decemeber - 15th with my best mate both 26 and so excited decided to go alone before we have our own kids in tow! :earboy2:

I think she was incorrect. I'm very sure that others from the UK here on the DIS got their tickets by phone through Disney. Some of them even got their tickets faster then us!

I'd call back if I were you.

i thought that too i said it says on the website for UK ticket reservations and enquiries call the number i rang and she said no im sorry US sales only??? I'll see if anyone from UK posts the number for where they got theres from......

Thank you so much for answering my question :goodvibes ! I think we will go as planned to the MK that day, and if it gets bad we will leave and go to a different park.

We bought our tickets on the web site, can you not do that in the UK? :confused3 Also, I have a question, sorry if it's been posted before, but 97 pages...whew! Anyway, we're doing the Christmas Party on Dec. 11 which is my dd's 6th birthday. She has requested that her birthday dinner be at O'Hana, how would you guys do this? I thought about it and thought that we could do MK that morning as planned (that's where she always wants to be on her birthday, imagine that!) and then go over to the Poly around 4 or so and be done with dinner by 6? Is that feasible or not? I know that the Poly is connceted to MK by monorail, so it shouldn't take that long to get there and back...does the time sound o.k. or do it earlier?

what web site would that be? I went to the disney. co .uk followed the links through to holiday and ticket purchase section and the only tickets were park passes........no MVMCP tickets so rang the reservations number still no luck,,,,,

Someone asked which CS would be open during MVMCP. Since I am a first timer, I asked that question myself. The park officially "shuts" down at (6? or 7?) pm to clear out non-MVMCP ppl....with the exception of tommorrowland. However, I figure my family will avoid the whole question by eating before 6 pm (heck we probably would have anyways...I swear the disney time schedule is lunch at 10 am and dinner at about 3:30 then a snack big enough to be dinner at around 7:30....thank goodness there will be free cookies that nite!). I should think they would all be serving full menus up until about 15 min before the park closes, just as on any other nite. I think we're going to eat at the Columbia Harbor House so I can try that salad everyone has been raving about.

Kirstin's Mommy...I think your schedule sounds about as perfect as you can get it. Unless they serve lunch at Ohana's, then you'll have settle for 4 pm reservations b/c thats the earliest the TS resturants serve dinner (I mention lunch b/c I know alot of the specialty family buffets at the hotels aren't offered midday...such as Bomas at AKL). Your right, it should be a quick ride to the MK (monorails are MUCH faster than the boats IMO). Getting there at six should give you plenty of time to get your bags thru security and your armbands and *if you're lucky and you hurry* you may be able to get your family picture done in tommorrowland and have it finished/out of the way (thats my plan at least). I've heard so many past guests complain that they waited in line for 2 hours to get their pics done and wasted half the party....honestly...its not THAT important to me...I'll try to do it early while we're all waiting in TL for the festivites and if I cant get it then I'll try to catch one at an off time close to the end). There is a 6:40 showing of Mickey's Twas the Nite before Christmas I want to try to squeeze in before the party starts. I'm sure you've heard that early arriving party goers are asked to wait in TL from 6pm to 7pm while the CMs clear the park. Though it is not essential to be there before 7 pm it's a great opportunity to get some things checked off your *to do* list....afterall, there is only so much your little ones can do in 5 hours. OH, and if you DO go to MK earlier in the day, you can also do the Holiday version of Coutry Bears...I've heard that its pretty much the only holiday event offered at the MVMCP that can also be done during regular hours....guess it's too hard to unchristmatize them between MVMCPs.

Sorry if I've repeated any info...sometimes it's just nice to summarize things for my own sake.

I got mine at www.disneyworld.com and just clicked on the tickets link on the upper right corner. Is that site available to you there? Or will they just not deliver to the UK from that site? :confused3

For Kirsten's Mommy - we are also planning the party on the 11th as it is my dd's 6th birthday!! We will be having our bday dinner at the LTT as part of the Christmas party dinner package. Went last year and it was wonderful, also we will be going to (hopefully) Cinderella's castle in the morning for bday breakfast!! I have our dinner booked for 545pm I believe! I didnt want to have to leave the park before the party starts!!!

I don't know about the UK, but I bought the tickets from spain and they were here abuout a week later. Bought them via Internet at the official page for the Christmas party tickets. Hope this will help!

That is so cool! My dd is so excited. We just went in May, this trip in Dec. will be our 5th since last August! We went for her birthday also last year, but didn't do the party. We had dinner at O'Hana in May (my sister's rehearsal dinner the night before her wedding) and Kirstin loved it, so she has requested that for her birthday dinner. Plus, we're having my dh's Dad, 2 sisters, BiL, and neice from both Nebraska and Iowa flying down to meet us. I thought it might give his Dad a break from the park for a little while if we left (he's turning 75 in Oct.) and went back. Maybe we'll see you guys there, that's so neat that they were born on exactly the same day!!! Hope your dd has a wonderful birthday trip filled with lots of pixie dust!

I got our tickets for MVMCP today for Dec. 11. Are we going to feel out of place as two adults without kids?

My DH and I are going this year, and two years before that, it was myself and a friend.

No you won't.

I agree! I went with a friend in '96 and had a great time! We were freezing cold, but we had a great time!! I just got our tickets for Dec. 15th with ADR at LTT for 6:45 PM - a bit later than I wanted, but all they had! I suppose we will probably miss out on getting our pictures taken - oh well - we'll have to take our own!!! This is my 5th trip to WDW and my DH, 2 stepsons, and mom & dad-in-law's 1st!! I can't wait! I hope they like it as much as I do! My DH thinks I'm nuts! Heigh ho ho ho!
