Mickey's So Long Summer Cruise 2.0

I am thinking about taking my youngest DD to New York to see the Fantasy and to go to American Girl on March 1, 2012:thumbsup2

I am wondering if it will be worth going since I have already seen the Dream and will be on the Fantasy in August:confused3

Any opinions???

I was thinking about going down too, but then was wondering how close we would actually be able to get to the Fantasy.... with all the publicity and traffic, would it be worth it:confused3

Michele-- what do you think? I have never been to the port, but can't imagine it to be like Port Canaveral

I can't say I am surprised, but those Med prices are way out of control....

bummer!......who knows, maybe I will keep my 2013 Fantasy date!

I am now leaning towards not going to NY to see the Fantasy. I will probably try to catch the christening on DCL site if they show it like they did for the Dream:confused3

After this year's Eastern on the Fantasy we will probably take a year or two off from cruising.

The DW and family want to go to Hawaii next year so we will be counting our pennies for that:rotfl:

WE were looking at Hawaii with friends for 2013 as an option but the prices were too high for us-- not to mention the airfare:scared1:

We were going to trade a timeshare week that we have bank to go to Hawaii and a new airline will start flying out of PHL to go to California which will have great rates to SFO or LAX. We would then use some of my US Airways miles to go to Hawaii.

Now it looks like we are going to St. Lucia for a week in the beginning of August. We are looking into renting a house with other family members and have a nice laid back vacation before our DCL cruise:thumbsup2

Anyone been to St. Lucia:confused3

St Lucia....What an awesome vacation you are going to have. St Lucia is on our "to do " list--- will get there someday!! Good for you!

We don't know what we are doing in 2012, but we are going to do
the Allure of the Seas August 2013--- western carribean.
I am a bit nervous about going on such a large ship, though
we are going with two other couples and their kids, so I know we will have an awesome time!!

anyone cruise RCI?

I haven't cruised RCI but while we were waiting for the Budget Shuttle on our way to the Dream last August, a family from Detroit said that they sailed on the Allure of the Seas and loved it:thumbsup2
