Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

OMGoodness!! Thanks gals. I can pm you my address and you can send them to me, or I can set up a time I will be on the southshore, OR I you can send them directly to the source-Methodist Childrens home in Mandeville. They are also asking for unused toiletries(even sample sized and hotel kind)

Let me know what is most convenient-I haven't even gone up there(attic) for them yet!

We had a long wonderful day in Denham Sp. and Baton Rouge. The birthday party was fun, but hot and then we headed to the mall with my DD's and DN6!!! We don't get her as often these days but I am thankful for every moment we DO have her-we headed to Libby Lu with gift cards they had gotten a from last Christmas(all 3 of them) and they had fun picking out some stuff. Went to Dillards for DH to get some dress shirts for very near future interviews and this Columbus trip where he will be meeting with his bosses boss for dinner(to talk shop/job prospects), plus with his previous boss another night.
My flight is booked and the kids are going to my MIL's-gotta board the pups I guess:guilty: .
I wish we were going somewhere MUCH more fun, much more south and a little more east:laughing: .

School has been on the slow side last week and we are revving up again with everyone else. Ironically, my hormones do surge at those times I used to .......well, you know.... and I can feel my moodiness instead of pain(thank God:banana: ), but it affected school this week just a little bit-until i get used to my body's new "ways"...

We are the AG fans!!! We have an AG club of 15+ girls in it. Wonder how Michaels will fare if we all show up!!!!
Thanks for the info!

Lori

LOL way to call someone when you are in town ; )

Sounds like yall had fun a good day!
Wish we had some stuff animals to donate, but with a boy around, we try to keep them to a minimum. So far so good.

Hey y'all,

I was running all day Friday, dr & hair color. My weight & blood pressure are up, evening though we've been watching what we're eating again. He also told me to expect the spinal injection on Thursday to really hurt! :scared:

Kathy, Mona's is a great place to go when dieting! You can ask for wheat pita's instead of white & the chicken sharwarma would be really lite. Hummus has some olive oil in it, but I think the fiber of chickpeas makes it worth it. We have also been hitting Cleopatra on Manhattan pretty often, because we're trying to eat better. Same type of food & almost as good as Mona's.

Jenny, :grouphug: Sorry I can't take Jack for you, I'll be doing my own crying over here when Alexis starts kindg. in another week! We can cry together though!:sad1: :sad1:

Lori, Hope you start feeling better!

Lorie, Glad you were able to get out with the girls! Sounds like a lot of fun.:goodvibes

Gotta run, we are going out to lunch with DD & SIL. Have a good Sunday everyone!

Yeah, i actually thought of you yesterday!
We did noit know we were doing anything other than the party when we went that way. I DID want to see my DB, SIL and DN's, but they were wiped froma night out in NOLa the night before!

I hate stuffed animals, but lordy when she was sick, did we get them!!! I have had trouble parting with some b/c it brings back memories of spending Easter 2002 in Childrens smong other times. I mean the bunny HAD to come right!? Well, He did, not only did we douse her and Haley, but this sweet family came through with baskets for all the cancer kids. EVERY clinic visit warranted a stuffed animal- we had clinic and chemo for 130 weeks. They gave stuffed animals to BOTH my kids. Most every week. It was stuffed animal INSANITY:rotfl2: . But I thought about how someone out there gave it to Childrens oncology for some sick bald kid and it just made me well up every time and I couldn't let go. It was someone from "out there" loving us "in here". I couldn't part with that for some crazy reason. I felt every little thing someone gave her was a little piece of God love shining in and lighting her up.

Okay, I am done:sad1:

Anyway, 3 nights of sleepovers at my home and I am exhausted-except DN6-she's the closest to a 3rd kid I'll get right now!!:lovestruc

Lori

Lori

Hey y'all,

Still a lazy summer day for us. School doesn't start until next week for Alexis with those so-called phase-in days again. I do not understand how a full day on Tues. & then again on Friday called be called phasing in?:confused3 A couple of half days would makes sense but this just doesn't make any sense to me.

Hi all - I hope everyone stays dry.

DD does not start school until the 25th. She is still in camp.

Hey y'all!

DD and I are sick. It should have been a red flag when we went to a playdate the other day and half of the kids had green slimy noses (7 kids under the age of four!). :scared: So now I am walking around like Night of the Living Dead and DD is the human faucet- who knew that much liquid could come out of one little nose? :crazy2:

On a funny note, DH volunteered to dress up in a tomato costume for work this past weekend for their Tomato Fest. :rotfl: I asked him if he scared any little kids with his costume, and he replied no, but did say that a little old lady came up to him, squeezed him, and announced to everyone "He's ripe!" He felt a little violated. :rotfl2:

No one can ever say that he doesn't have a sense of humor or that he takes himself too seriously.

I certainly will- I'm sure he would've gladly passed the tomato costume onto you! :lmao:

I'm gonna be TRULY evil and post a couple of pics, hee hee! He wasn't just a tomato, he was a tomato superhero! You know, because that is more manly and all...;)

Good morning NOLA.

OMG Lorie I love those pictures. It looks like he had a great time playing "Super" Tomato. :thumbsup2 I hope you and Sienna feel better soon. Summer colds are the worst. I came back from vacation a couple of weeks ago with one. :guilty:

hey Lori - we would like to donate all our Webkins (sorry no tags) as wll - I have to get dd on board, but we got to get rid of some of them!!

We donated a lot of my DD's stuffed animals to Ronald McDonald House; don't know if that would be more convenient for you, but its a thought.

Hey y'all,

I've been MIA, DH had to password protect our computer. It locked me out yesterday right after I posted here. He thinks he has it working right now.

Lorie, I'm so sorry I missed the BIG TOMATO!!!! Or maybe we should call him MR. TOMATO!!! :rotfl: Love the pics! He's a good guy to do that for the store.:thumbsup2 Sorry to hear you & Sienna are sick! What did she think of Daddy's costume?

Kathy,

Lori, I don't have anything to donate. I cleaned out Alexis's closet about 6 months ago & everything but the "important" stuffed animals went to the SA.

Okay, Lorie, i take it back:laughing: .... I wanna be COMPLETELY covered, like Mickey!!!!! VERY VERY VERY brave DH. I respect that tomato!!! Umm, SUPER tomato:thumbsup2 !

BTW, I am donating my hair on Thursday-okay well, cutting the 10 inches Locks of Love asks for on Thursday! I am so excited. I like my long hair but all summer have wanted it cut off. Since I am going to Columbus to meet DH's boss and possible future co-workers, I am primping! Getting my hair cut and gonna get a pedicure!
I'll do before and afters for my hair! I have done Locks of Love before with Ashton and she asked me to do it again a couple years back-I am ready, she is not. She wants to wait a couple more inches of growth before doing it.

Lori

Good morning NOLA.

The rain woke me up at 2:30 this morning. It was thundering and lightening like crazy here in Mandeville. :scared: At least it stopped before the kids have to go to school.

Lori I think that's a wonderful thing you're doing for Locks of Love.

Good morning all... well almost afternoon lol!

Been busy the past few days, inlaws were here for a lovely visit. Brought us lots of fresh fruits and veggies, Ive been cooking up a storm.
