DH always just says, "somehow it will work out, this ain't nothin' but a thing"!
Well, I had a blow today. My boss called me last week to make sure I update my CPR, TB,registry etc, etc... and I was under the impression all was well. You see, me and the other PRN girl are the only registered cardiac sonographers in our dept. Now before you think ,"well why are people allowed to work without being registered?" Well, it has never been a requirement in my field until the past few years, where ONE person in the dept has to be registered and the unregistered can still work at the same capacity. So, we have 2 full timers-1 has been in the field 20 years or more and 1 is on the newer side, but very good-she is working/studying for her registry. So I have been under the false impression that me and the other PRN person's job was secure.
My boss also told me they were cutting back on hours b/c of some wierd way our hospital figures out how many we can use-but we are busier and it makes no sense(don't know what "power" figures THAT out

). So, I had some concern, as I work only 6-8 days a month, but my registry was saving me.
Well, if you look at our job section, you'll see there is an ad for a full time position for our dept. My DH is looking regularly for jobs and called me to mention that things aren't adding up for my place of work.
If they are hiring a new technologist, but are cutting hours, who do you think will get cut? The registered PRN people. I have a feeling I am being weeded out. I was also told by the co-worker whon has been doing this 20+ years, that they are making her get registered.
I am more upset that no one mentioned this to me or the other PRN'er-b/c we are whom this will affect!
So I guess it will be me and DH looking for new jobs together.
