Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Hulloooooooooo out there in NOLA land!

Hi!:yay:

Welcome home Kyle, good job!

Alexis:hug: , hang in there honey. My gram passed away in August and my gramps is on his own too. He's getting by one day at a time. When things clam down, maybe call him and just say hi and you're thinking about him. (hi Sheryl too!)

Kathy- how's the gym going?

Lori- glad you're feeling better. Hope everything works out at work. Can I come take the quilting class too?!? I need a refresher!

I know I've left several people out, just checking in. I'll read back later tonight.

Hi Tricias!

Hey ya'll. Just checking in real quick.

Lori and Sheryl,

kmores, looks great!

Lori (BP), nice to hear from you.

I went to a "Girl's Night Out" last night. We saw "Mamma Mia". It was a fun movie to see with a bunch of women who had just had some raspberry margaritas, especially whenever Pierce Brosnan sang. He's a better actor than singer:lmao:

Lori, what's Sienna up to today?

Hey y'all!
Busy busy over here- I had my niece over yesterday. We went to the mall and then came back here where she just HAD to make my a myspace page. She said I was, like, the last person on earth not to have one.

Lori and Sheryl- Hugs to you both!

Kristina- Love the new avatar!

Kathy- Glad Kyle made it home okay!

Mary- Sounds like a fun night! DH asked about going to see Mama Mia. Either he had a momentary lapse of confusion or he is sucking up to get something. Hmmmm.....

Lori, what's Sienna up to today?
Well, today she thinks she is a dog. She is crawling around on all fours and is barking at us. :upsidedow

Haha!!! :cutie: I had a girl that watched my kids when they were Sienna's age when I worked-she was really good with kids, still is. She is now the nursery director at our church. Well, anyway, my kids went through this phase-being a dog- and she made it worse by making them "collars" with construction paper and eating goldfish in a bowl on the FLOOR:rotfl: . I was taken back at first, but really, the kids had so much fun with her-so I let it go.:rotfl: It WAS funny...

Lori

HI ladies...I have been very busy but I just wanted to stop in and say hello.

Been wondering where you were, everything OK?

Kathy- how's the gym going?

Great.......9 lbs down, too many to go:rotfl: I'm doing 60 min of cardio and 45 min on the weights/toning equipment 5 days a week, I feel great! We miss you around here girl;) .

That is so funny! If she keeps this up I may have to use that....:scratchin

When I saw her crawling earlier, I asked her if she was being a baby today- she said "No, a doggie- woof woof" in a very like duh kind of voice. :rotfl:

Morning everyone!

Lori-Give Sienna a scratch behind the ear for me! ;) DS7.5 (can't forget the half now!) still scrambles around the house on all fours while panting every now & again. And Lori's goldfish in a bowl.....too cute!

Kathy - glad Kyle made it home safely. Congrats on the big signing day! You're doing over 1.5 hours a day at the gym! Where's the exhausted smiley??? Way to go!! :worship:

Flora - that Mamma Mia GNO sounds like it was fun. I can't wait to see it (I love Christine Baranski), but I'll have to wait til it comes out on PPV / on Demand. A night out at the movies is too expensive once we factor in a sitter.

I wanna see Mama Mia too! My DH says he'd rather watch HSM 1 and 2 like a thousand times before he'd go see that movie!:lmao:

But he LIKES the HSM movies-so, umm, not sure about that one!

I decided to wait for PPV, too- I feel now I am on a mission to make sure we can afford the cruise next December!

Okay, Kathy, you'll appreciate this-decided to try a spin class last night-yeah, umm, 15 minutes later my heart was beating out of my chest, no, neck, and I felt nauseated/lightheaded and had to leave:laughing: . DH has done it 4 times now and he can last the whole thing. he said he just went slower on day 1. Here I thought I was in better shape than him:eek: . I tell ya' though, I can walk FOREVER!

I am gonna try it again with him, and hopefully my tolerance can move up 10 more minutes each time-but this may have to be "his thing"!!!

I told the girl running the class, as she was helping me adjust the darn bike, that I had surgery 5 weeks ago and haven't ridden a bike since I was 15!!! It just works muscles I haven't used in forever I guess!! I like things that work my BUTT off, that seems to have killed my muscles on top my thighs.(quads??). Maybe I wasn't doing it right, who knows, but it was painful!

Lori

OOOH - spin class - my legs ache for you!

I have a couple of neighbors who fell in love with these classes (one actually bought a bike to keep at home! :scared1: ) One girl, who claims to be a total klutz who can't do step / aerobic type workouts, says these classes really kick butt! Once you get past the "jelly leg" stage, I bet they're really good workouts. Just remember - Take it easy, especially on dialing up the resistance. Don't want to push too hard so soon after your surgery.

I think I'll stick to the treadmill until I reach my goal weight, but after that I know I'll need a new challenge....spinning's not out of the question yet.;)

Hey ladies! I am going to have a borring weekend. Dh accepted overtime all weekend, which is great because we will have some extra disney money, but stinks because his birthday is Sat. BUT, next weekend is our anniversary and he is taking me to the Melting Pot!!! I can't wait. We have been once before, and I am dying to try something different this time. Any suggestions on good fondues, or cocktails?

I've never been there but I've heard great things about it. Have fun!!:goodvibes

Good morning everyone.

I've never been to The Melting Pot either. Please let us know how it is:) I hope ya'll have a wonderful time.

I have an aggravating problem. We have a bird by our house who loves to terrorize my family. When you go outside to get the paper or the mail, he swoops down really fast and almost touches your face. It happens so fast, it really startles you. It used to just do this to my DH and DS, but yesterday, the stupid thing scared the life out of me when he did this to me when I went to get the mail. Today, I opened the door to get the paper about 1/2 hour ago, and chickened out because I am afraid of a little bird:lmao:

ohhhhh, have a great time! That's one of our "special occasion" places. Rick knows my birthday is either there or Morton's(or Disney!). If you like mushrooms get the mushroom salad- it's like a whole plate of mushrooms on a bed of mixed greens! Super yummy! And we always get the (I think) court bullion? for the main course. It's the one with broth and wine, also very good. Cheese is cheese, but we get the one with the shot in it- a swiss blend, maybe? And the chocolate fondues are awesome- we've done the ying/yang-black/white, and the s'more, both VERY good. We always get one of the "complete" dinners- just seems a better value- but it's alot of food! You wouldn't think it but after salad, cheese fondue, main fondue, and chocolate with all the dippers it's quite a bit.

And they have this garlic wine seasoning that they sell that is yummy. I got it and put it on salads and steamed veggies. It's one of my go to spices>

Have fun!:thumbsup2 Now I'm hungry and want to go!:lmao:

MORNING ALL!!!

Look who has decided to rejoin the land of the Dis ??!!
LOL!

All is well with us, just a very very busy summer. Ive been popping on here but just for a few mins at a time and its just to check a friend of mine's thread on the family board.

We have been super busy with Jack, tball, swim lessons, playdates , we also spend almost everyday at the pool.

Chad and I started taking west coast swing dance lessons at the local dance studio and enjoying it so much are thinking of taking more lessons.
Chad has also started frogging with his friends.. and now ive joined in. Who would have thought I would enjoy mucking around in a swamp at midnight!!??

I need to catch up on all of you lives, so ill spend some time reading in the next day or two. Right now im off to get a pedicure. I am going out dancing tonight with my gaggle of girlfriends to 80's night for my bday.
Ive got my 80's outfit all ready complete with leggings and pumps all ready LOL!
I will NOT however be sporting a side pony tail or large bangs.. sorry to disappoint!

HEY JENNY!!!!!

Missin' ya' around here, but it sounds like you are having FUN!

Glad to know all is okay!

Kathy- I LOVE the readmill, I can walk forever, the spin classes are ROUGH, but I cannot let my hubby beat me out without a TRY at it-or I'll never hear the end of it:laughing: . No, he's not really like that, but I will be thinking it!!! Plus, he asked me to do spin with him- how can I not try?!
Lori
