Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Quiet on WFD too!:worried:

Yeah, I know I'm avoiding housework & fixing dinner & couldn't find anyone to help me do that! Now everyone will propably get real chatty, cus I have to go throw together something for dinner! :confused3

Hi - I am sorry I am just getting back to you guys. I was off from work yesterday and I slept most of the day. Boy was I tired. DD is currently at an overnight gymnastics camp @ LSU with her teammates so me and DH have been hanging since Sunday; she returns this Thursday. We got home about 8 Saturday night so I had to start labeling and packing DD's cloths for camp; I stayed up until 1 a.m. Sunday morning. :( I woke up @ 6 and headed to WM and Target for last minute stuff for her then rushed home to get her ready. Check in was @ 12:30. I do not know how we made it on time but we did. I did forget her pillow though; thank goodness one of her teammates had not left home yet so I called them and they let her borrow one of hers. :)

On to WDW...

Well let me tell you we had a blast. I really enjoyed hanging with my sister and her kids. It was very nice to have a group of people to hang with and ride with. I was a bit worried that we would get on each others nerves but believe it or not we did not. It was 8 of us, 3 adults and 5 kids (1 - 5 y.o., 3 9 y.o.'s and 1 13 y.o.. )

On to the details:

1. But boy was it warm....I never recall sweating so much and in so many places....:rotfl: :rotfl:

2. This was my 2nd time going the 1st week of June and I was pleased that the crowds were not bad. Don't get me wrong there were people but I do not think I stood in line longer than 30 minutes for a ride.

3. Sunday we arrived at our Windsor Hills home. Let me tell you the house was awesome. See attached for the link: http://www.windsorhillsrentals.com/Royal_Ascot.html. The house looked exactly like the pics do. 5 bedrooms/5 baths, dining room, large kitchen, great room and the garage was turned into a game room. We also had a covered pool. The best part of all was that we were about 10 minutes away from the Disney property...and about 15 minutes away from SeaWorld. :woohoo:

4. Once we got over the excitement of the home we went to WM to shop for groceries and learned the area.

5. We visited Seaworld on Monday, Epcot on Tuesday, MK Princess and Pirate Party on Wednesday :woohoo: (this was so much fun; we rode so many rides back to back, it was unbelievable), Downtown Disney on Thursday and Hollywood Studies on Friday.

6. I was able to partake in rides I had not previously riden: Space Mountain, Tower of Terror :scared1: (this ride was crucial, it took me 30 mins. to calm down afterwards:rotfl:) , Test Track, Toy Story (loved this ride, it is awesome....:3dglasses add to the effect). I was dissappointed that I was not able to ride Rockin Rollercoaster (it was down from the moment the park opened until we left; I even obtained FP's for us to ride later but to no avail.

7. The kids were in awe of everything. I was glad to see they were so excited. Of course I spoiled them; I bought them alot of things to add to the magic. They were so hyper :hyper:; both from the candy and the rides.

Guess what I am trying to schedule a weekend trip for a group of cousins(ladies) in October. :woohoo:

Okay I have to leave but I will check in later.

Terry - sounds like y'all had an awesome time. I can't get over that house, it's freakin gorgeous!!!!!!

Good morning NOLA!

Tricia - Are you out there and OK???????

Good Morning NOLA.

Yesterday out of the blue I had no internet service. I have Bell South and when I called the tech hotline they couldn't seem to help me. They had to schedule a service guy to come this morning to see if he could fix the problem. Last night for some strange and unknown reason it came back on. :confused3 :hyper: I called right away to cancel the service call because I'm sure they had some kind of charge involved with it. Anyway, life without the internet with three kids and me without the DIS is not fun. :worried: I have to play catch up today.

Consider it done. I hope today is a better day for you.

What a house Terry. Glad you had a great time in Disney. We always go on vacation (to Disney) with my sister and her family. It must be the magic of Disney because we never seem to get on each others nerves. Our last trip in February we had 18 family members with us and we all hung around together for the most part. It was a great time.

Hey Steph.. hugs and prayers to you!

Terry I am so jealous... the house looks totally gorgeous and you rode the T OF T. I am soooo chicken you will never see me on it!!!

Im dying to leave NOW!

Lorie, we should go at the same time b/c i rode it BY MYSELF-Ashton chickened out at the last possible moment(lining up on the #'s) and DH and Haley won't ride it. DH has ridden it every other trip, but not this one!!

Lori

Stephanie - hope things get better soon.

Terry - that house was something else - WOW.

I am back in Little Rock with Dad. We drove straight thru yesterday. I was going to stop half way, but he said he wanted to keep going. The last hour or two of the trip he looked like he was just miserable and I wish I'd stopped. But he wanted to get home.

Dad has no paralysis from the stroke, but I can tell a difference. He could not remember how to use the microwave that he has used everyday for years. Plus he couldn't remember what stations he liked to watch on cable in LR.

Of course being in New Orleans for a month with a differenct microwave and different channels can throw me sometimes.

Tricia - Feel free to PM me at any time, seeing these kinds of changes isn't easy even if only temporary, I've been there.
