WOW that sounds amazing! I had the old fashioned hysterectomy 11 years ago and I was back to work and driving in three weeks. Best thing I've ever done.;)

That is sooo cool. My mom had a 6 week recovery about that time ago and she is one who never stops!! That is awesome you were up and going 3 weeks out!
Thanks for the comment-everyone I have talked to that has had one says that!!

I found this HILARIOUS, so i will put the link here for you to laugh at...

Anyone have this yet??

Lori
Not me but my sister (49) had the big "H" about 4 years ago. She'd been just fine - but called me one day to take her to ER as she was just doubled up in pain.

It turned out to be severe endometriosis - but we all (including her doctors) thought it was ovarian cancer because her ovaries were like potatoes. The endometriosis had grown from the inside (usually on the outside) of the ovaries. We were SO thankful when it was just endometriosis.

She recovered very quickly and that was from a regular open surgery. Good luck. She is very happy that she had it done.

Another friend of mine (age 55) has had terrible endometriosis for about a decade now. She refuses to get a hysterectomy - not sure why. It has really done a number on her lower intestines. She's had major surgery and now has damage that cannot be repaired. She is in constant pain. She really would be so much better off if she'd had the endo surgery years ago.

Lori, I'm going to pm you with the details of my issues. It's way TMI for anyone not needing to hear it! ;)

I will say, for me having a total hysterectomy was the best thing ever!!! After years & years of misery, No more pain & those awful long periods! Also even though the drs. never could explain it, the LAST migraine headache I had was the day of the surgery. I have not had a "true" migraine headache since!

And dear Bob always likes to tell people, that if he had known how much nicer I'd be that he would have insisted on me having the hysterectomy 20 years earlier!

Hey y'all! :wave2:

I'm dying over here- my trip seems soooo far away and I want to go RIGHT NOW!!! :sad1: It's going to be a longggg wait over the summer!

I'm gonna have to worry about that Sienna I tell you- she played kissy-face with a fellow two year old boy at the playground this morning. puckerup: More like she attacked him! He came over to the playground, a cute little blond-haired boy (and his daddy wasn't unfortunate looking either! ;) ), and Sienna immediately ran over to him, said "HI!" and planted a big smooch right on his cheek! He looked rather shocked! His daddy just said "my, someone is rather friendly this morning!". :rotfl: She followed him around the rest of the time we were there, completely enamored with him. Well, at least she's social, right?

Lori- I don't have personal experience with that, but my sister did. She had a hysterectomy when she was 27 because of severe endometriosis, which she had dealt with since puberty. The endo had also messed up her lower intestines so she really didn't have many other options. She was done having kids and said she had never felt better after the surgery and couldn't even remember the last time she was pain-free! I hope everything works out for you!

Kathy- Glad that Kyle is feeling better!

Does anyone grow Creole tomatoes? I don't really grow veggies, I grow flowers and tropicals mostly, and I'm growing Creoles this year- the problem I'm having is that the tomatoes are pretty small.... Anyone know how I can remedy this?

That Sienna is starting pretty early Mom......:lmao:

If my Dad were still here, he'd have been so eager to help you he'd be heading to your house right now. That man loved growing creole's, unfortunately I'm of no help.

Oh boy, I know! Funny thing is she is nothing like me or DH- we are both quiet introverted people. So we were expecting a shy introverted child, and surprise, surprise, she is nothing like us! She is such an outgoing extrovert that it just amazes me sometimes (and forces me to talk to people a lot more than I normally would). I think that is just fate getting back at us.

As far as the tomatoes go, I think that with like all things I will probably just have to learn from experience. I LOVE Creole tomatoes and I hope that they taste good even if they are a bit small!

Lorie, good luck with the tomatoes. I can't be of any help either. I am trying to grow some bell peppers though.

Kinda of a bad day over here. David was trying for Jesuit Quiz Bowl team, and got cut in the second round. He's been on the team since Freshman year, and he so wanted to do it next year for his Junior year. I feel so bad for him.:sad1: I asked him on the way home if wanted something good and chocolatey, and he turned it down. Chocolate always helps me a little.

 for David. Hopefully something else that's even better is in store for him next year. I'll say a prayer for him.

Aww, that's too bad. :guilty: Hopefully he'll be more receptive to chocolate later on. It always helps me too.

Post it, it may be as close as we'll get!:rotfl:
Here ya go!

Poor Sienna always has Heat Miser hair because I have no idea what to do with curly hair being a straight-haired girl myself. I need help in this area. :sad2: She will not have anything to do with bows or barrettes of any kind either.

Lorie, You are definitely going to have to keep a close eye on that child! Let's hope she gets a little less friendly, when puberty hits!! ;)

Love the pic! Bows or no bows, she's a cutie!:lovestruc

On the tomatoes, I haven't grown creoles in a while. But I always used miracle grow plant food. If I remember correctly they were still on the small side.

Mary, So sorry for David! :sad1:

Lorie, Aiden is starting to do that to! This weekend I finally got to see my cousin's baby(she just turned 1) and Aiden was so tickled with her. He kept going up to her and pointing at her and jumping up and down. The he leaned in and gently kissed her on the cheek!

Sorry about David!

Awww, so cute! I told DH about her smooch attack this evening and he told me to "keep her away from those boys". Uh, she kissed him, not the other way around! He's never going to survive her teenage years!

She is too cute...He is in LA-LA Land. :)

DD is feeling a little better; the vomiting has stoped but she still has diarreha off and on...

FloraFauna - to David. He will come around.

Thanks everyone , for the info and hugs!!! I am looking int the whole thing and am leaning toward the hysterectomy. Sheryl has prompted some great advice that I am thankful for:hug: . I'll let you know the decsion and outcome. Whatever we do, it will happen at Lakeside at this time.

Lorie, I have a straight haired blonde and a curly headed brunette. Curly hair is gorgeous(she always gets the "people pay for that hair" comment). When she was 3, she had this Ronald McDonald curly head that was tough to deal with. Her hair now is longer and the weight drags it down in ringlets:lovestruc , but when a day or 2 goes by w/out washing, it is a frizz ball! So, she pulls it up in a ponytail!! She is stubborn and won't let me comb it out with water and leave in conditioner(which perks it up but is not good for thier hair). I spend more on shampoo and conditioner on this child than i do myself. Most of the cheaper stuff that me and Ashton can use make hers frizzy. Aussie works well, but we recently succumbed to $26 of Paul Mitchell. It can be used daily and doesn't leave a film, like other conditioners, which drag it down. I think I will alternate the paul Mitchell with the Aussie, just to keep cost lower!!
But when she was Siennas age, I wet it every morning with a tiny bitty amount of leave in conditioner. The spray stuff never worked for us-and beleive me- we went through a LOT of different kinds. It seemed to make it frizzier when it dried completely. To spruce it up now, I also use this shine stuff that seems to leave just enough conditioner to it to make it not frizz.

BTW, Love the new pics on your siggie!

bad hair day..
