I’m not sure if I would be buying 150 direct points to take advantage of this. It might be cheaper to add on a resale contract. Or just buy 25 direct points that way you could combine with your existing points and use the 11 month advantage.

It would not be wise if that were the only incentive.

They might have some direct points already, but not the full 150.

But, in general I agree with the sentiment.

It also shows the trickiness of multiple UYs.

We don’t in that UY (April). We only have resale AUL(S) that we rent out from time to time and at other times use as SAP. Trips to AUL requiring 11mo booking perhaps once every two or three years max.

Prior to the details of MMB and the OTUP being discussed, we were already planning for a direct purchase of a FW at PIT.

So the prospect of discounted OTUP eligible for BOGO (buy one get one free) just reinforces that decision. If they allow OTUP BOGO for a resale contract in the qualifying UY, the incentive is even more compelling!

All the rules of OTU points are the same with this program. The only difference is that those part of MMB can purchase with BOGO free pricing up to the maximum.

I’m in! Even though we only have one trip planned for 2025 - 5 nights in Feb. But if I know my DH he will end up wanting to visit again later in the year, even though he says not interested today lol. It’s been this same thing for over 5 years running now

I’ll make it work even if it ends up just the one trip. In January I can book OTUP in our Sept 2025 UY and rent it out to get my money back. It’s just much more likely DH will end up wanting another trip, I won’t disagree, and we’ll end up putting those OTUP to good use ourselves because we never have ‘too many’ points.

If you don’t have two different memberships, you won’t need allowed to buy my then the limit of 24.

That rule has not changed. Now, if you and your wife own more than one membership..,ie: different UY, then it very well might allow two people from the same household the ability to get the deal because it would be happening on two different memberships.

Just don’t want anyone to read this and think that somehow the ability to get more than 24 per membership is impacted with the program.

I truly hope (and probably ms too) that chat can do thr utop and mmb online directly. Alas, that would be a bridge too far for DVC IT

Imho, each uy blue card will have 24 points limit irregardless of number of contracts in the uy.

I would LOVE to see each uy to be available for mmb and 24 points. Alas blue card only on a single uy. Not going to buy another 150 to get the other uy into y status.

Yeah that’s not gonna happen. Chat can do a lot of the work that phone can but they can’t take payments.
But if DVC can see that it will take some of the burden from phone then they might allow chat to do it too.

Having to share CC via chat would not be wise….unless DVC has instituted an encryption method, not sure I would trust the,.

Since you have to call to purchase OTU points, my guess is they don’t have that in place.

The terms and conditions already state that the rules for OTU points have not changed. A membership will only be allowed 24….just like it is now.

The question some of us have is whether or not two members of the same household who have more than one membership can purchase and then unlock the deal on both memberships.

Like now, I can buy 24 OTU points on each of my three memberships…so, will there be a way to unlock the benefit if more than one owner buys and uses it on a different one.

I buy to use our June UY and DH buys and used it on the Dec UY..

The other question I have is related to points being used for the AP…will any points one owns be eligble to use to trade, and if not, will they allow transfers between owners memberships to combine for the purchase.

Kind of an added perk...from dvcnews.com

Starting January 12, the Disney Vacation Club members-only lounge at EPCOT will open an hour earlier for all members, while adding 3 evening hours for those who join the new paid member perks program.

Through January 11, the lounge's standard operating hours will remain 11am to 6pm daily. The following day, hours will shift to 10am to 5pm for all qualifying DVC members. Meanwhile, those who buy into the higher tier perks program will also be able to access the lounge from 6pm to 9pm daily. All of these schedules are subject to change
