Kind of an added perk...from dvcnews.com

Starting January 12, the Disney Vacation Club members-only lounge at EPCOT will open an hour earlier for all members, while adding 3 evening hours for those who join the new paid member perks program.

Through January 11, the lounge's standard operating hours will remain 11am to 6pm daily. The following day, hours will shift to 10am to 5pm for all qualifying DVC members. Meanwhile, those who buy into the higher tier perks program will also be able to access the lounge from 6pm to 9pm daily. All of these schedules are subject to change
Interesting. That's a form of priority lounge access that I could tolerate better than line skipping.

Having to share CC via chat would not be wise….unless DVC has instituted an encryption method, not sure I would trust the,.

Since you have to call to purchase OTU points, my guess is they don’t have that in place.
They actually have. For years they have you enter in your code for your membership in an encrypted form. They could use same method for CC details.

Interesting because I have never had to use my membership number to log in.

The terms and conditions already state that the rules for OTU points have not changed. A membership will only be allowed 24….just like it is now.

The question some of us have is whether or not two members of the same household who have more than one membership can purchase and then unlock the deal on both memberships.

Like now, I can buy 24 OTU points on each of my three memberships…so, will there be a way to unlock the benefit if more than one owner buys and uses it on a different one.

I buy to use our June UY and DH buys and used it on the Dec UY..

The other question I have is related to points being used for the AP…will any points one owns be eligble to use to trade, and if not, will they allow transfers between owners memberships to combine for the purchase.
I wasn't even considering paying for my AP with points. Seems like a bad price difference than paying cash. What am I missing?

I don’t either, but I have a password on my account and that needs to be verified before they will help me. The password box is an encrypted box.

There are some rules around protecting credit card data that presumably would not apply to an account password. Just encrypting it isn't enough. These requirements are imposed by the card processing networks.

If a system is not already PCI-certified, getting it to that point requires real money--if only to go through the certification process. It's not going to happen just for this side program.

Understand the t+c. The question is what will happen in practice? Will they check if two mmb already done? Will they check if blue card status on each membership? All valid points to be seen, just like using points for AP.... direct? Resale? Any restrictions?

I just called, and the CM said we can purchase Membership Magic Beyond online. She didn't know the exact time it would be available but suggested looking at 8:00 a.m.
One think is to buy MMB online and another is to add on the OTUP.

Still I don’t think the CMs have all or maybe any details yet.

A DVC guide in the sales center at DCA though that MBB was already able to be purchased….. so they don’t always know everything….

I hope it can be purchased online…. it would be kind of crazy to make every one call in….

If you want to use the price one might get when renting on your own, yes, someone would make money that way.

However, I am not interested in renting and even if I did, I’d be a broker…

So, the value I am getting for my points…around $14/pt….works for me. It’s at least $5 more than my MFs…plus, the ease of a phone call also tips the scale into just using my points…because that is what they are for…to use to cover vacation.

I never have to do that when I chat, or log in…so, my account is not set up that way.

The system will not let someone buy more than 24 points in a membership and this is not going to change that because all that will happen, when someone goes to buy is to be charged half the amount.

So, if I am a qualified DVCY owner, I can buy. They wouldn’t need to check status of other memberships because once they verify an owner as eligible and they purchase into the program, that owner is now eligible.

Well, that is good then!

I wasn’t planning on renting my points to pay for the AP. I’d just pay cash. I guess I use all my points for WDW trips, while some others either have more points than they will use or use cash for some of their stays.

We have enough points…900…that I can make this work, especially since I won’t be going up as much in 2025. Plus, I have shared that I will do a 1 bedroom when it is just me, so I can downgrade one of those trips to a studio and the saved points for that one trip cover this next year.

But now I save the $1k and can use it to cover a lot of food and drinks during my trips.

My AP expires 12/17. If I want to renew with the MB and use points, would I be able to after purchasing the AP? Or would I have to wait until 1/12? I can still renew APs within 30 days of expiration, yes?

I have a trip on 1/15, so I don't want to lose my AP.
