Membership Magic Beyond

The Membership Magic Beyond option is part of Membership Extras which, effective June 3, 2021, requires having an ownership interest with 150 Vacation Points or more purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.

Does this mean that blue card members prior to the 150 point rule are ineligible?

So it looks like the Lounges are now going to be limited to this new, even more select pay to play tier of DVC Members? That’s frustrating.
I'm not sure that's true. The website linked above says that character meets in the Epcot lounge will be a benefit of Beyond, and that Beyond members get priority access to the lounges when there is a waiting list. To me, that implies that non-Beyond members can still visit the lounge but might have a longer wait and won't get to meet the characters.

Edit: I’m rereading and now I’m not sure if that’s what it means. Possibly it’s just priority access?
I read it as priority access as well. However, those who purchased direct points but don’t buy this additional option could have an even longer wait when there’s a WL. No?

That’s the language to point out that after that date, 150 is required. If you have membership extras you qualify.

I was wondering the same thing. Wasn’t sure if it’s going to be paid to access the lounges or pay to get priority meet and greets with characters in the lounges and waitlist priority.

Q: Who is eligible to purchase the Membership Magic Beyond option?

A.The Membership Magic Beyond option is available for purchase to Disney Vacation Club Members (DVC-Y) with eligible ownership interests currently in good standing, who are U.S. residents. Corporate Memberships are ineligible. To learn more about Membership Extras, including eligibility, Members should see the Membership Extras Acknowledgment and Disclosure Statement. The 2025 Membership Magic Beyond Option Terms and Conditions apply.

So for me I read the bonus OTU points differently than everyone else. I am likely completely wrong. I read this as they are cutting back the OTU point to 12 points max to purchase and then allowing you to purchase 12 more as a bonus, thus upping the amount you can purchase from the current 20 to 24. But you all are right bonus is probably free... but then that makes this $99 price tag pretty low for all that you are getting and I dont trust that.
  • Bonus One-Time-Use Points
    • Get one bonus One-Time-Use Point for each One-Time-Use Point purchased! Members can purchase up to 12 Points for a total of 24 One-Time-Use Points in a Use Year. Excludes bookings offered through the hotel exchange program.

Moving my thoughts over to this thread:

As much as I hate the money grab, I am a DL local and go to the lounge at least twice a month. The waits recently have been challenging in the afternoon because people camp out for hours inside for their "free" Cokes. I have a neurodivergent child and husband who both really benefit from the calm and quiet inside the lounge. A quick break has made our visits so much better overall for our family.

I'll spend the $99 just to get priority lounge access.

I'm also very curious on the pricing on the discounted tickets.

A 5 day base ticket for my dates for next spring is priced at $700. The 4 day 4 park specially priced magic ticket last year was priced at $396. Will this special weekday ticket be discounted similarly to the 4 park magic ticket? Or will it be some ridiculous discount like $20 off?

“Get one bonus OTU point for each OTU purchased” is the important part.

I am so confused. We are grandfathered blue card members. Can we access the lounge without paying $99?
It looks like as Blue/Y members you can still access the lounge, but if there is a waitlist, the MMB people staying onsite, on DVC points for that day, have priority.

I dont mind spending $100 on useful perks. However, they don't seem to offer enough.

Discounted tickets are great, but many DVC members are annual passholders. On top of that, annual passholders get free memory maker. This might deter people away from getting annual passes, depending on the pricing. How about discounted lightning lane. A 4th lightning lane instead of just 3? One free individual lightning lane on each of those per year? Quick service discounts? So many perks that I would love and would pay extra for. Discounted dining plan?

I'm hoping it just means still a max of 24 per year. I'm pretty sure there was already a 24 limit and this says 12+12free with no change in the total allowed. They say "Members" when probably should have said Membership Magic Beyond/MMB Members...
