I checked mears website and there are 2 options, standard and express. Standard is $32 return, and express is $238 (up to 4 people) although it still says it's a shared ride and a bus. I'm travelling alone. Am I missing something here? Is there an option for 1 person? If it's a shared ride and still a bus, why would I be required to pay for 4?
I also checked out Florida Tours and the price for a private ride, with a 15 minute grocery stop is $235.

The 1 person option is $32 round trip and a bus that can make up to half a dozen stops.

The expensive option just gets you dropped off first and picked up last. Yup, might as well do a proper private car service for what Mears charges. Why does Mears offer that bad deal? Because people buy it, they look at Mears and don’t look further.

Rideshares are also an option at MCO.

If you don't mind making a couple of stops at other Disney World hotels, you can save a lot of money by taking Mears Connect for $32 round round trip.

The express service cost of $238 for up to 4 people means that your regular Mears connect bus goes to your resort first before continuing on to the other resorts on the route. You still ride the regular bus that everyone who paid standard rides. It isn't a special bus. We were on a bus that had a group who paid $238 and they were really angry that they paid so much money for something that everyone else only paid $16 per person for.

You are paying for a non stop ride for yourself. Others are invited to go along for the ride and you can bring up to three others at no extra charge,

Admittedly most other alternatives including Mears's taxis cost less for just one person.

"" only paid $16. for ""

It is possible that someone else on the same bus also paid the $238., for the express ride to the same resort.

We always take the coach, it's decent value and we never have more than 3 or 4 stops in WDW. Save the money for snacks 😋

Mears’s own private car service is about that same price, and it’s a much better deal, as the driver will meet you in baggage claim, take you directly to your resort, and be waiting for you at the resort for the ride back.

I highly recommend Mears for a solo passenger. For any other transportation you need a group to help pay. Chances are you will ride in a small van instead of a bus. The atmosphere is all fun, with other people starting their vacations. I like seeing other resorts, and have stayed at places I would only have known about from the Mears ride.
