MeanLaureen's Useless Poll of the Day - Monday - the Hubby Sub!

Good morning everyone!

Lauri asked me to sub for her on the daily poll because she had quite a night and had to leave for work earlier than normal. She only got a few hours of sleep so she's running on caffeine. Seems our dogs shared a bag of Hershey's PeanutButter Kisses last night and you know that dogs and chocolate do not mix well. It was a stressful night to say the least.

Anyhow, on to the poll. Since I'm the sub today, I thougt I would make the poll about those famous sandwiches. You might call them hoagies or grinders or heros, but around here they are mainly called subs. If you could "make your own", what would you put on it?

It totally depends on my mood

I like Ham and cheese heated with nothing else on it

Or turkey mayo cheese tomotos and black olives

or tuna

or sometimes a subway club which is Roast beef turkey and Ham

to many choices to pick just one

BTW My Favorite sub would be You Matthew

Yum...Turkey, on white, with provolone cheese, lettuce, and light mayo. They know me at the sub shop up the street.

We just had Subs the other night!!!

Let's see.. it's Ham & Turkey on whatever my choice of bread is that night... American cheese, lots of veggies (onions on rare occassion) tomatoes, green peppers, black olives, pickles, little bit of lettuce (sometimes that can over do the sandwich *imo*).. lots of mayo, mustard, small, small amount of vingear and oil.

On a adventures day dd and I will add bacon or pepperoni to the sub.. YUMMY!

Oh I love me a good sub! My favorites are (in no particular order)
1. Turkey, american cheese, mayo, mustard, pickles and lettuce
2. Roast Beef, american cheese, mayo, horseradish and lettuce
3. Italian (hard salami, genoa salami, capacolla, and proshutto (i have no idea how to spell those ) american cheese, lettuce, oil and vinegar
Guess I'm going to have to go get a sub for lunch!

I love a good Italian sub: lotsa meats & cheeses, lettuce, tomato, onions, olives (yum!) and mayo and a good mustard. Pretty much throw anything on except peppers!

I have 2 faves, from Subway ONLY, please:

teriyaki chicken on wheat w/ lettuce, green peppers, and sweet onion sauce.

(preggo sandwich, been eating it for 20 years now...):
club on honey wheat w/ lettuce, tomato, pickles (extra), black olives, spicy mustard and vinegar. Yes, vinegar.

As for my picks - I'm a very plain eater. I don't like a lot of sauces and add ons with my foods. I think the only thing I will eat ketchup or mustard with is a hamburger.

Anyway, I picked the Italian meats with a White American cheese - it's got a bit of a sharper "twang" to it than the Yellow American.

Ham, Turkey, Roast Beast, Provolone, light mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, green peppers, olives, oil & vinegar, salt pepper.

Turkey or chicken on parmesan/oregano bread (if it's from Subway), with "sprinkle cheese", warmed to melt the cheese. I also add lettuce and oregano, green peppers and banana peppers.

This one makes me hungry!

I only like 2 kinds of subs:

1. Bologna, Salami and American cheese with oil and pickles. Sometimes referred to as an "American" but I've learned the hard way that all Americans are not created equal. One of my local sub shops makes it with Ham. Blecch!

2. Tuna with pickles and that's it.

I can tell you my DH's favorite, because I've ordered it enough times for him that I finally have it memorized! He'd be so proud. Ham and cheese with mayo and oil, lettuce, tomato, pickles, extra onions, extra hot peppers.
