ME only one way (returning to MCO)

Hi all,

We have a trip 9/19-9/25.

Looks like we'll be getting a rental car at MCO and taking that to WDW. My dh flies home earlier than dd and me, so he'll return the rental car when he leaves on 9/23.

That means dd and I need to take ME from POR to MCO.

How is this handled? Do we still have to check in with ME when we land at MCO?

Yes, you certainly can.

No, you do not check in at the Welcome Center on landing.

At any time before two days before you depart, call your resort operator and ask to be transferred to Magical Express. Make your return reservation via phone.

Can we arrange the ME transportation to MCO prior to getting to WDW, or must it be done while we are there?

Did you already reserve ME when you booked? Reason I ask is I did (just in case we get rental car at CCC instead of MCO) and I received my ME package a few days ago. I believe there's something about setting it up 10 days before you get to WDW. But I'm not sure if you are only taking it to return to MCO. I would call ME just in case before you leave. My other travel documents arrived yesterday and in the package are vouchers for ME.

I've never used ME before but a few years ago my Dniece joined us on our trip and she took ME to WDW and we took her to MCO for return flight. I know then you have to det it up 10 days before.

Yes actually, we did... but our flight times just changed, too, so I'd have to call anyway to let them know about that, even if we were still using it both ways.

I guess I will just ask them how to handle it when I call, let them know we don't need arrival but just need a return on the 25th, and see what they say.

Setting it up 10 days in advance is the deadline for setting up the ride from MCO to the resort. But for the ride from the resort back to the airport there is no such deadline. The deadline there is actually 24 hours, but for all practical purposes I'd call it 48 hours, just to make sure things don't get lost in the shuffle.

By all means, you can arrange your ride BACK to the airport from your resort within a few days of the end of your vacation.
