MDE asking for email code when shared with multiple devices

Hi, I have been at WDW multiple times over the last year and typically whoever is with me just logs into my MDE. However, I noticed that it was becoming an increasingly annoying issue as MDE keeps asking for an email verification code. Is there any way to turn that off or bypass that? Very frustrating when we split up and the others have to call me to ask for the email code. Part of the trouble is I am managing all 8 of us on my account. And I am the one with Photopass and everyone wants to log in and download photos instantly.

Really hoping there is a trick LOL!

Thanks!

Is there a reason why the other people are not creating their own accounts? You can still be joined together via F&F but they’re logging into their own accounts.

It's a security issue.

While many do it, technically you shouldn't share your log-in information. The 2-step verification is a security measure to make sure nobody unauthorized is accessing your account; it's becoming more and more common. If the others are adults they can create their own MDE accounts and still be linked to you as F&F. That way they use their own log-in but you can still be in charge of making plans.

It goes through phases of requiring the verification, for me the phase often kicks in while on a trip 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t think it’s necessarily multiple people logging in that causes it because no one but me logs in and I only use one devise to do so on vacay. There is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it.

To PPs’ point, anyone 13 or older should have their own MDE.

That usually happens to my account once I've logged in on too many devices between Disney+, MDE, shopDisney, etc. Not sure what the magic number is, but it definitely happens once I've hit it.

Just have anyone over 13 create their own account and leave them as your F&F.

As others have said, there isn't a way to turn it off. We went through it when the hubs added photopass to his annual pass and I kept logging in as him to get the photos. I ended up just adding it to mine as well! LOL.

If they are only logging in to get the photos, can they maybe text you instead? You can download the photos via the app onto your phone and send them to them. Not sure that is less annoying than having to give them the code, but it's the only workaround I can think of.

Yeah - it’s for photos. So much easier than my sifting through to download multiples of the same pose or figure out what each wants.

Sounds like it is best to just keep an eye on email. I prefer that to downloading and sending all the photos we take.

I’m not on the anyone old enough should have their own account bandwagon. If they are under 18, they can’t add a payment method to the account. They can’t even charge back to the room. So you have to give them money or a gift card, or they have to use their own card if they have their own bank account. Really annoying.

I even tried giving my son one of my old MBs so that he could buy stuff on his own; he’s 17. That didn’t always work for some reason either.

My DD is on my MDE and since the age of 10 has been allowed to make purchases with her MB after I gave her permission. She has never had problems paying for snacks or souvenirs with her MB. Before the age of 10 I tried a couple of trips but it would not allow it but from age 10+, her MB attached to my MDE could make purchases. She’s done this on 3 different trips trips between the ages of 10 and 12.

I replied in another thread. Under 18 with their own MDE are not allowed to add a form of payment, so they can’t charge to the MB. Just restating here for those who are not on that thread.

I think it was clarified that the other thread, that the parent just needs to talk to the front desk (or presumably guest services) and have them open up the ability for guests under 18 to charge to the room via a magicband.

Those under 18 cannot add a payment method to their MDE account on their own. Although nothing is stopping a parent from giving their kid a gift card or credit card or cash.
