Hi everyone, Would love to join but my reason for no spend May is not that i don't want to spend but that i would like to try to have our flights nearly paid of by the end of May :scared1: I hope that is ok? I am aiming for 12 no spend days but my spend days will be big:sad1: I am in Australia so some of my prices will differ greatly to yours.

May 1 $0
May2 $148
May 3 $60

A tank a week?! Times 2? :faint:

That sounds like a FANTASTIC trip you have coming up! Well, at least you got a good deal on the plane tickets! :scared: 38 USA days and only 6 are at Florida theme parks! That leaves just over a month to do other travel! I live in the States and have never traveled around for a month! That sounds like it would be a great experience. I'd love to hear about it! Is this your first USA trip? I'm guessing not since you know about the plane prices, but maybe it is.

I have been doing the $400 for the month as a whole, and I'm going to try something different this month just to see how it works. I'm going to try a limit of $40 for each 3 day period. $400/30 days is the same amount as $40/3 days over the month, but mentally it's a very different approach. I only have $40 to spend, but I only have to make it last 3 days! I have no idea if this will work or not, but it's worth a try.

1 - $0!

2 - $0 of cash - spent on gas
3 - $23.50 Winn-Dixie
4 -
$40-$23.50=16.50 left

I am posting my itinerary for you hope everyone else doesn't mind.

hello everyone and nice to see even more new folks.

I went to Walgreens yesterday because they had Oscar Mayer bacon 2 for $7.00. I also had a $1 register reward, so 2 bacons for $6.00. Great , right? Problem is I managed to spend $18 when all I really went in there for was the bacon. I am a perfect example of why we need No Buy. :-)

Still haven't had the chance to work out my budget for the month, but I had my first no-buy day yesterday (just groceries and bills, which I don't count!) :cool1: I just got my end-of-April paperwork finished and sent out some job applications, so I'll work on the budget this morning. It's raining, DH is going to some volunteer work before he goes into his job, and he is being a BEAR! Argh. I can't wait till he leaves, LOL.

I am totally going to try this. But I am not feeling very confident. I love to shop. But I need to stop. Hopefully this thread will give me the support I need.

05/03 -0-:cool1: I actually got a script from Walmart for $4.00 but used my flex card. So nothing out of pocket. And that's all I got, never even looked at anything else. In and out. I didn't want to tempt myself.

Went out this morning to run errands. We picked up mom's prescriptions and got an extra $1.00 off per gallon of gas. Add that to what we had already and we saved $1.50 off per gallon. I paid $2.69 a gallon and filled my tank. We have another coupon that I can use when I get my prescription in a few weeks. We also got a few groceries and drove through McDonalds for a quick bite.

I do not count medical but I count everything else.
