May Med Magic - May 15 2010 - Meet thread - Part 2

We'll just miss you Jill. Frank and I will be in WDW October 10-15th. We try to go every year for the Food and Wine Festival. We love it and the Halloween parade is the best!
We'll also be ther December 5-11th. Christmas is my favorite time to go. I love all the decorations.

I'm sorry I'm missing you guys!

I love the beginning of December too. Have you ever done the Backstage Holiday tour? Really cool!

Jill

Hello everyone !
Hope you all are enjoying your Summer ! I still look at my Magic pics and just wanna be cruising again--LOL !!!!

Living in Florida, we are very spoiled and visit WDW often. But we don't visit in July, August or early Sept--just way too hot and crowded. Our fav times are Jan and Feb., May, Oct. Nov and Dec. We always visit the first Sunday thru Wed. in Dec. for the Christmas Decorations and in Oct. for Food and Wine !!! We are members of the DVC so we usually stay at one of those resorts otherwise we make use of our Ritz/Marriott Discount (employee) .

We are booked on the Dream in May---back to back (May 12-15, then May 15-19)----anyone else on the Dream next year ?

Stay cool

Jill

have not done a backstage tour but years ago i had a music promotion business partnership, one of our venues was Pleasure Island so we used to get some pretty spectacular behind the scenes adventures. :rockband:

I have to agree with this. October or early December. I think I'm going to go early January next year; I've heard that's a good time, too.

You couldn't pay me to go in the Summer!

Sayhello

Best time to go are 2 1/2 weeks after Thanksgiving. You miss the crowds, the weather is great and you get to see Disneyworld in all its Christmas glory. Very magical. Other times to avoid crowds but still enjoy warm, dry weather are October, mid April (avoid Easter and Spring Break). January isn't bad but you can catch some cold spells.

We'll be down there twice in October...first for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon (Arriving Oct. 1st, leaving Oct. 3rd.) and for the Food & Wine Festival October 28th - Nov. 2nd.

Have been hearing really great things about the new World of Color at Disney Adventure, has anyone been ? Have been planning to visit after the renovations are complete sometime in 2012 but don't know if I can wait that long to see this water show. :rainbow:

Jared and I scored tickets to the D23 archives tour in August, so we're going out for a long weekend. We'll be visiting Disneyland as well as Temecula, CA. So, needless to say, I've already gotten us picnic meals for World of Color - I am SO excited for it! And for the light up cotton candy you can buy while you're waiting.

You'll have to let us know about the archives tour! I'm hoping to get tickets for a D23 studio tour at some point - am hoping they do one near to D23 expo next yr so i can plan to do both in the same trip.

I have been dying to get tickets to one of these tours for a year now. It's not exactly close, but so worth it to go out there! We're going to be at the Expo next year too - I was so sad we couldn't make it last time, so I'm making it a point to be there in 2011!

Please don't forget to let us know if it is worth making the trip to see the renovations, especially the World of Colors show.

I can't believe this forum is still active, some of you are Disney mad. Mind you I don't blame you for being so.
Anyone booked any future cruises for next year?
Just booked (Dare I Say It) Royal Caribbean for march, but to balance things up we are back on board the Magic next August doing a similar cruise to the May one we had.

It's cool that people still keep in touch.

Michael,

People on our 1st Med cruise back in May 2007 continued to post to that thread for more than 2.5 years.

We don't have any future cruises booked yet, though our previous 4 were all booked no more than 6 months in advance. I tend to wait for the deep discounts before booking. As for Disney trips, Susan and I are going down October 1st to run in the Wine and Dine Half Marathon, and the returning later in the month to attend the Food & Wine Festival. We're also planning to return in December to see the holiday decorations for the first time in several years and then again in January 2011 for the Disney World Marathon. Yeah, that probably makes us Disney mad. :yay:

Jared and I are Disney mad, too! We booked a cruise on the Dream for October 2011 while we were still on board, but Jared says he can be persuaded to do the Panama Canal crossing for his birthday in January. I told him no problem - if we get the awesome deal like we got on the Med cruise!

We're heading to Disney in October for Food & Wine, and then back again late Nov/early Dec to take my niece for her 5th birthday present. All I know is, October can't get here fast enough! :yay:

I Know you's two are Disney mad, I've seen your Facebook updates.
If I didn't know better I'd say you had moved in with Mickey and Minnie.

Bye the way, you won't hold it against me that I'm going on a Royal Caribbean ship in March will you?

Haaa! I think I'd rather move in with Cindy - she's got a nice room up in that castle of hers.

No, I guess I can't hold it against you. You'll have to let me know how it compares. We've only ever done the one in May.

I'm headed back to WDW for F&W on Oct 16. Planning on being back for sure in Oct 2011 for my niece and nephew's first trip. I have a cruise booked on the Dream but may move that around depending on deals and if I use all my DVC points for the big family trip!

Yep, we are on Alaska cruise next August but are planning to do a Mexican Riviera sometime at the end of the school year in May. We will probably go out a few days early to visit the renovated Disneyland. And of course we are headed to WDW for our first ever Christmas experience. Got a pretty good deal on points at Old Key West and are meeting my sister, her daughters and their husbands and one has a 3 year old.

We're doing a big family cruise on the Dream April 17,2011...can't wait. I had no idea folks were still posting on this thread. I decided to check it and was pleasantly surprised to see all the familiar posters still posting. My new cruise thread is pretty active but nothing like this one was. That was a once in a lifetime trip!
