May Med Magic - May 15 2010 - Meet thread - Part 2

Yep, we are on Alaska cruise next August but are planning to do a Mexican Riviera sometime at the end of the school year in May. We will probably go out a few days early to visit the renovated Disneyland. And of course we are headed to WDW for our first ever Christmas experience. Got a pretty good deal on points at Old Key West and are meeting my sister, her daughters and their husbands and one has a 3 year old.

Do you know when you're going for Christmas? My daughter has exams through Dec. 10th so we'll be going right after her last exam. We haven't been in several years during the Christmas holidays so we're looking forward to this trip.

The Candlelight Processional is one of our favorite Disney events during the Christmas holidays. Given the time of the month when you're going, I would strongly suggest that you book one of the Processional dining packages so you're guaranteed seats in the theatre without having to wait in line for hours. We might just bump into one another. We arrive on the 19th December and we're staying until 2nd January.

Unfortunately we miss the last MVMCP :sad1:

Im very jealous of you guys visiting in December!

We would love to go late November to see the Christmas Decorations, MVMCP & The Candlelight Professional - maybe the year after next we will make it (Planning a West Coast Road Trip for next years holidays)

I can't believe this forum is still active, some of you are Disney mad. Mind you I don't blame you for being so.
Anyone booked any future cruises for next year?
Just booked (Dare I Say It) Royal Caribbean for march, but to balance things up we are back on board the Magic next August doing a similar cruise to the May one we had.

It's cool that people still keep in touch.

We're actually leaving this Saturday on another 11-night Med cruise on the Magic.

Not got any cruises planned for next year but we'll see what happens. It shouln't be too difficult convincing my girlfriend to go crusing again. :rotfl2:

I was originally thinking of going down to WDW the second week of December, but I'm thinking I might switch to right after New Year's if I can talk my boss into letting me carry 5 vacation days into 2011...

Sayhello

Thanks for that, I was wondering how important the dinner - reservation deal really was but will probably do just that.

We have to hurry almost directly from campus and last exam to make it on time in order to be in time for last MVMCP but since it is our first Christmas visit we have decided to we will be doing everything. :santa:

We went on the Dover-Barcelona repo for the Magic back on July 30th. We took my parents and sister (or rather they took us as my dad insisted on paying our cruise fare - couldn't complain at an 8 night cruise for the cost of a single airfare from Barcelona to home)

We're booked for B2B's on the Dream in April - trying to figure out flights and dates around the cruise right now for that trip. We'll prob go to WDW for a day in each park and have a couple of extra days around a beach somewhere.

We also have the obligatory dummy booking ready for using on a spontaneous trip or when the 2012 dates are released

It's actually quite amazing that we don't have any other trips planned right now - but we just had a new patio and decking put in (perfect with all the rain we've been having!)

We are also having the dining room, hall and landing renovated and refurnished over the next month or so - our hall has antique wood panelling so we're having to pay to have it restored by a craftsman. it'll look fab when its done but its pricey.

Jeff,

Did Katy enjoy her internship at the Memphis Zoo ? Jessi may be doing 5 weeks in South Africa this June for a Pre Vet program. Think I would prefer Memphis or Columbus but Jes is pretty set on South Africa. :sad1:

She did enjoy it. She got to work with different kinds of hoof stock - duikers, klipspringers, dik diks, gazelles, wart hogs and bongos. In the Once Upon a Farm area she worked with the goats, pigs, sheep, cattle, donkey's, and Caspian horses. She worked there through the first week in August, took a week off and then started classes again on Aug. 18th.

Katy was looking at the Disney Professional internships at Disney World but wasn't sure she wanted to miss a semester to do their required six month terms.

We're booked on the 10-day Mexican Riviera from 4-17 to 4-27. The Wonder leaves for Vancouver to do the Alaska cruises right after our cruise if you're planning to do a MR at the end of May, it won't be with Disney... come join us over Easter break instead!

We are booked for the Med tour again next May. We are going to wait until we move back to the states to do any cruises that are stateside. It is way to easy for us to get a cheap flight down to Barcelona from Belgium. So I figured we will do the cruise one more time and maybe get to do some things we didn't do this time.

Like the Grottos in Malta, see more of Carthage in Tunisia (I would also like to go to the American cemetary there for Veterans), Cinque Terre, and a few other places I can't think of right now.

Also, our anniversary is actually during this cruise. What a way to celebrate, right?

It's nice to see others still posting. Talk to you all later.

I knew I couldnt stay away for too long. My roommate and I are booked on the Wonder Alaska cruise on 5/10/11. Prices are really great right now for that cruise with it only being $889 per person. Come and join me!!

You know that you want to come Jane! I have never seen the price for the Alaskan cruise go down this much. Jump at it while you still can.

It's nice to see that everyone is still well and keeping up with this forum.

We're booked on the December 18th Holiday cruise----paid too much but decided to go for it because Claudy will be deployed to Afghanistan shortly after the holidays. Plus we get to avoid the inlaws this way ;)

Our next cruise won't be until 2012 when he is back, but we are eying the April 2012 dates on the Fantasy. I am still hoping for a Eastern or Western Med in 2012. If offered we would probably jump on that instead of the April Fantasy.

I hope everyone whose book on the Dream enjoys it and please keep us posted on every detail.

RRC
