May Med Magic - May 15 2010 - Meet thread - Part 2

No idea if anyone is still looking at this thread!! Am really...really hoping to cruise again this summer but because of my job this year it will have to be in school hols. Does anyone know where is the best place to look for any deals as it's so expensive at the mo for August....:confused3

We just got a good deal on Disney through Avoya travel, we usually book on board for the best deals though. Ended up using Avoya because we decided we wanted to check out the Dream and had limited availability with school breaks.

We also subscriber to the vacationstogo e-mail updates and sometimes see some good deals. Lastly we have signed up on a couple of last minute sites who send out a notice of last minute specials, have to be ready to go in about 4 to 7 days.

Hi Natalie
Cant believe this is still active myself, we have got a Disney cruise booked for August which was booked through "Small world vacations". If your after 'Dare I say it' non Disney. Gills cruises seem quite decent, we have got one for this March on board the Independance of the seas from Southampton going to the Canaries and it worked out pretty cheap.

Take it easy

Michael

Aw...thanks everyone, I'll have a look at all those sites. Will keep my fingers crossed for a good deal:goodvibes

Not sure if anyone will see this......but just wanted to say how gutted I am. Just logged on to book Med cruise for next year and they are not coming here:confused3 I could cry....was so excited....

Does anyone know if they might sail the next year.....

They haven't released yet where they're going for 2013. I'm hoping they'll do the Med again, and some Baltic cruises! Next year they have the Magic here in NY for the summer, so even though it's not as cool as the Med cruise, we're booked on one of the 'cruises to nowhere' and when we sail the Dream next month, we're going to be booking the Canada cruise the Magic will be doing in Sept. '12.

I looked at the NY ones but they cost sooo much with flights for us and they are not as long as the 11 night Med one either. Would you have any idea when they normally release the next years Itinerary....??

I want to say they released the 2012 dates around May/June of this year.

We just got off the Last Alaska Cruise of the season and I asked the rebooking agent about 2013, he said they hope to see them in October.

So jealous of the Alaska cruises. I'm hoping to do one for my next significant birthday in 2013...hope they release them soon. Although, I would be happy with a cruise to the Greek Isles!

Alaska was great. Flew home next to a couple who did the land / sea on Holland which sounded like a great land portion but their sea experience was not as good as ours. They ended up not seeing any whales, otters, porpoise, mountain goat or the glaciers. They did however see Grizzly which we did not see.

I am glad we did it and now hoping they post the South Caribbean for 2013 so we can change our December 2012 Fantasy to that itinerary.

Just saw the Magic will be doing Caribbean early Spring of 2013 and headed to MED for summer, rumor she is sailing out of Civitavecchia and doing rotating eastern and western. The Wonder will be back in Hawaii in October of 2012 after it's summer in Alaska. The Fantasy is booked in ports on the eastern and western Caribbean later in the Spring of 2013.

Still hoping they are trying to string together at least one Southern Caribbean for 2013 maybe as a market test.

Hmmmm, I was thinking of doing Alaska for my 40th in 2013 but the Med is calling my name too. ;)

Thanks for the update!

I am all over the Eastern Med if they do it! I was hoping they'd keep one ship out of NY, too, since it's so convenient. We already have two booked for next summer.

Very probable we too will do an Eastern MED, waiting for a confirmation of the ports

Here is what my snitch says they were working on:
7-NIGHT EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN

Cruise Ports: Civitavecchia, Italy; Messina, Italy; Kusadasi, Turkey; Athens, Greece; Heraklion, Greece; Civitavecchia, Italy

7-NIGHT WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN

Cruise Ports: Civitavecchia, Italy; Genoa, Italy; Marseille, France; Barcelona, Spain; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Sardinia, Italy; Civitavecchia, Italy

Guess we should hear for sure within the next 6 weeks.

I wouldn't be able to choose between those two. Maybe we'll just have to do both. :cool1:

DCL canceled its press conference scheduled in Miami today. Would guess they are trying to figure how to release the itineraries while being sensitive to the ongoing situation in Italy.
